Hi great video and a great insight,Mine had covered 500 mile and was ready for the 1ST service while ridding to the motocycle shop for the service the engine light came on,at the shop they said it was the temp sensor for the water cooling, still under warranty i expected them to replace the item but they just reset the fault,as a electrical engineer i said the fault would return which it did 100 miles later,it is now booked in again to have it replaced, the bike is so honest and i love it this has not put me off ownership though AS THE BIKE IS SUPERB..
Thanks for watching, this is a typical problem caused by lack of coolant in the expansion tank, have you checked it ? Glad to hear you are enjoying the bike, its a joy to ride 👍
Thanks for the video, enjoyed it. I live in UK and looking at a bike for long distance adventure riding. Trips like the ACT portugal and pyrenees, so lots of road and trail in one trip (with riding from and back to the UK after each trip). Main concern is long term reliability, and not wanting to have an issue in the middle of nowhere. Seems like yours was pretty reliable on the whole, good tip re the issue on the rectifier... that has the ability to cause you a major issue in the middle of nowhere if not dealt with. No point putting a hole in the boot AFTER it has shorted. If you have any further reliability feedback, I would be interested to hear it.
Hi, thanks for your comments, i would say the voge is fine for once you get to destination perfect for off road trails, but you might find it to be not so great on the to and from uk part, on motorways, on higher speeds you get a fair bit of vibration, reliability is great, ride safe 👍
Awesome video! I paused it where you showed service intervals and grabbed my book to compare and it's different :) I don't have a line about "first service at 500km" anywhere and table service intervals are 1, 7, 13, 19...37 I also have another manual (Polish version) and the table there is totaly different again :D giving service intervals every 4k km... Feels like dealers just set these to what ever they wanted...
Hi thanks for watching. That's very interesting. Why would it be different? I Don't trust the dealers to service it properly anyway but the manuals should read the same.
Yep. I bought used Honda NT700 and oil change is 12.000km. Dealership in Slovenia translate it in local language but simply change interval to 6.000 km. What a scammers. I send email about oil change difference, but as expected no answer ever!
This was truly valuable. I am considering this as my first offroad bike for riding in Spain. So, just to be sure I understood correctly, you sold it for €1,500 less than you paid for it, and you rode 6,000 km. In other words it was €0,25 for each km of riding in devaluation, right? That is pretty good! PS Where in Spain do you mostly ride?
@@ourspanishadventures Nice! I'm moving to Spain (probably close to Almeria, actually) later this year. Perhaps you can suggest some good trails in the area?
We spent 3 years riding in the Parque National, unfortunately bikes and quads are no longer allowed on the trails, but there are still loads of other trails to ride, we go into Sierra Gador, Baza and Filibres, we use Gaia Mapping to plot the routes, old AL roads, and twin tracks, enjoy exploring 👍
Hey thanks for the video, awesome stuff! What is the model of the wheel stand you're using? Got myself the same bike and wanna get one for easier chain maintenance.
Thanks for the video! I'm considering buying a Voge 300, but I don't really have any maintenance experience. Would you still recommend it or would I take it to the garage every other week?
@RoadsideWanderer Hi thanks for watching. I would say that it's very easy to work on so service it yourself. The only difficult thing is the valve check and adjustment. So maybe take it to the garage just for that.
Hi there Lew, Himalayan owner here. I have a rdv to test a 300 Rally because I'm looking to do more off-road work. I've just been offered 3400€ for my Himmie so currently I will need 1400€ + bike for a new Rally. I'm hoping to bring that down to 1000€ then we'll have a deal. I'm looking to do more in the Alps and Pyrenees, getting off-road as much as poss. Couple of questions please? 1. My Himmie consumes 2.8ltrs/100 kms, what fuel consumption do you get from the Voge ? 2. Where do you buy your oil filters from please? I like to buy in bulk. 3. What weight engine oil do you use ? 5w-50, 10-40 ??? Cheers Dave.
Hi Dave thanks for watching. I get 2.9ltrs /100 kms. I use the Hiflo 112 oil filter from Amazon. And the oil 10-40 motul from Amazon. Hope this helps. It's a great bike perfect for what you have planed enjoy and ride safe Amigo
Hi, is it an Austrian numberplate ? i live in Hungary, and i haven no users manual, when i bought the bike, all the Voge is coming in over Italy, i received a QR code to download the manual , but it did not work for Hungary, Mine is now over 1300km, and no issues
I'm due to test ride the Voge 300 tomorrow. My only concern is engine vibration at higher road speeds. Usually, engines are smoothest at maximum torque revs, which is 6500 on the Voge 300. This, on test, seems to coincide with 60 mph. How is the engine smoothness at 70, or 75 mph?
Nice bike, but I'll stick with the Honda cfr300l. 20 kilos less weight, time proven, Honda reliability and quality. Sure the Honda is more expensive, you get what you pay for in the end.
Mediocre bike the crf 300L.. test rode twice, cant find a reason to pay so much more money for this.. with the extra money i can buy a second engine for the Voge and a trailer to carry it. For gods sake
@@get_out_theregood point, also honda needs to have upgraded Suspension because its to soft for people wheighted more than 60kg. Voge Suspension is spot on for this type of bike.
Honda is a good bike but Voge does the same job for much less money. Have a look at Nathan the postman channel and you will see another good review and test of a Voge with honest and down to earth comments.
Only the Important staff in under 6mins. Great video for someone considering purchasing a Voge Rally.
Thanks!!
