    Also... I like the small dishwasher. It's just two of us, so we've been looking at our options. Dishwasher was important because it uses so much less water than hand washing.
    So far we really like the Fischer Paykall drawer style. Right now they are the only ones who make a drawer style. At first I was like, "meh" but now I'm kind of leaving more towards the drawer

    Induction is great! Specifically as one gets older. The mariners like this method of cooking, maybe insurance does too. Instead of microwave a convection oven?...I can do this and add washer drier too without a dish washer. Thanks

    As someone from the UK originally but now lives in the US - the invisacook and drawer microwave will literally revolutionize how kitchens are designed over there. The counter space gains will be a huge deal. Not to mention the power savings on just standard 15a plugs.

    Just wondering why yo still wouldn't want an exhaust? All that steam and smells from cooking will permeate more without an exhaust fan. I guess you didn't include it due to cutting energy use but I cant imagine it requiring too much as it's only on for short spurts.
    Anyway, great kitchen and I love, love that hidden induction stovetop, I've never seen it that way!

    Here's my question with this tiny house living thing. And maybe I'm not understanding it or I'm not thinking this out right but, for myself if I was going to live in a small "cramp" space then I'd just buy a travel trailer. You can buy some in good shape for around $12,000 and it has everything already there you know. And it has your water tank and a septic tank. Just throw some solar panels on and done. Some of those tiny houses I've seen on HGTV people build them between $20,000 and a $100,000. And I just can't understand why and I'm constantly saying why.? Why would you spend that much money when a travel trailer is already set up and ready to go practically.

    Jeff, this is a fantastic video! I think one thing that needs to be mentioned is that this application will work well for people putting in basement suites, either for a family member or a tenant. Since there is no stove it makes it easier for the homeowner as far as basement suites goes. Is there a good hood fan that you could recommend that would despurse the moisture from cooking since no vent to outside. Also is there a less costly alternative other than granite that would still work with the stove top?

    • @HomeRenoVisionDIY
      @HomeRenoVisionDIY  4 года назад

      the folks at invisa cook have a few different options available. you can always check their site. as for a hood you can install one if you want. this house has heat recovery in it so the heat and moisture is all going to be taken care of passively! Cheers!

    Hello from Ireland :) thank you so much for all your videos, I study with you for a few years now, and I'm really happy at all I was able to do myself (out of financial necessity). I have basic training in building construction and carpentry, so this was the best apprenticeship I could access so I could fix my own house. A question: as my place is indeed tiny. You mentioned at some point "no need for a hood fan".. I am trying to figure out when do you need an extraction fan in a kitchen and when I don't (as I lived in places that had one and didn't). We'll cook on a solid fuel range in the cold season (as it heats the house) and on a small gas/oven and top cooker when it's warm. The extraction fan is complicated with regulation when it's in the same room as a solid fuel range. (I have studied that, so I know how to make it safe and up to standards) BUT having none would be soooo much easier.. especially that there is a window near the gas cooker I could open when I need extra air (warm season = lots of open windows anyway). Could you advise me? :) many thanks

    Why wouldn't an induction cooktop require a hood? Isn't the purpose of the hood to suck away any steam/smoke from cooking? Or is this a case where a hood is still smart, but not required (by code) for the size of kitchen here?

      The primary function of the hood is to act as a fire stop. secondary as an exhaust. Cheers!

    Isn't that a small fridge for 2? No freezer. How about a side be side under the island?

      Just sharing the tech Robin, not trying to define tiny! in most cases you are living in what is considered a tiny house at 900 sq ft.

    I was pretty excited about this stuff … until I started checking out prices. Sheesh. It might be cheaper to expand my small kitchen.

    7:30 - Why don't you require a hood fan? You still have the ability to boil water and/or burn things on the cooktop.

    I’m doing this in my rented room above the garage. I can raise the rent another $300/month.
