    “That’s Deneb, Altair, and Vega”
    With your finger, you pointed out the summer triangle
    I remember that as I see the sky
    I finally found you, Orihime
    But I wonder where Hikoboshi is
    At this rate, you’ll be all alone
    Looking up from a pitch-black word
    The stars were like snow fluttering in the night sky
    I wonder when it started,
    When I began to chase after you
    Please hear me out
    Listen, without being shocked
    To these feelings of mine

    In East Asian mythos Altair and Vega are a couple with Altair being a cowherd with their two children (the two smaller stars next to Altair) on earth and Vega a goddess on the other side of the Milky Way in Heaven; Altair is forever "chasing" Vega and every year the two lovers get to meet once when birds form a bridge across the Milky Way which is described as a river in these myths.

    Thank you so much for guiding us to navigate the wonders in the sky. I live in the highest elevations and darkest sky on the planet in the mountains where we have K2 Nanga Parbat and Rakaposhi. I have started looking up in the sky for the last three years and it has been soul lifting. More than this it comes so naturally to me.

    Just inside of the triangle between Vega and Altair you will find the "coat hanger" asterism. A nice pair of 8x42 or 10x50 binoculars will bring it into view and help keep you interested in backyard star gazing. Alberio is a beautiful double in a 3-4 inch telescope. Keep your head to the sky.

    Why are summer triangle and winter triangle named so?
    When to watch them in countries like India??

    • @learnthesky
      @learnthesky  3 года назад

      They are named that because of the season in which they can be seen. In India you should be able to see both winter and Summer Triangle.

    Always found in the Summer? Not winter?

    • @learnthesky
      @learnthesky  2 года назад

      Honestly, this does depend on where you live. For example, I can still see the summer triangle when I go out tonight even though it is winter. But I can only see it right at sunset, and a little bit during sunrise. It is most prominent during the summer months in the northern hemisphere.
