    I've cooked both the individual back ribs and the 3-bone 'plate ribs' and both are excellent but these are lest costly. I use only a blend of kosher salt and course ground pepper and then cook them low and slow in my Big Green Egg. Delicious!!
    I enjoyed your video and I may have to give the oven method a try. Thanks.

    I got hooked on these big beef ribs the first time I brought them in April at Costco. I've had them for dinner 4 times and you absolutely cannot rush them. They take 3.5 hours to cook in the oven and I leave them in another 30 minutes after I slather them with my homemade bar b que sauce. They are delicious

    Instead of cutting your ribs up put them on a wire rack with sheet pan. Then the pan will catch all the greese which you can then keep the grease in a jar in the fridge and use it to cook with.

    This is how to cook tough ribs like Chuck or plate ribs. Standing ribs can be smoked to add smoke flavor and finished really hot to,get a medium rare rib with a great meaty taste. No need to stew them. Just my opinion as a meat lover.

    Love beef ribs, but at my stores there's hardly any meat. Only fat and bones! I usually get pork ribs! Those enormous beef ribs/ dino ribs, they sell at bbq spots, I never can find those! A smoker or grill would make that 2x better. Wrap in foil and bake on 250-275F to tenderize the meat. Put your sauce on and put it on the grill to get a bit of smokey flavor.

    • @RealCookingInMyKitchen
      @RealCookingInMyKitchen  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes my husband does them that way. I’m just showing a different way

    • @Salz88
      @Salz88 2 месяца назад

      Why would you place it in a smoker wrapped in foil at and bake at 275F ans expect smoky flavor? It's WRAPPED!!😂 You don't get any smoke flavor when it's wrapped in foil, it has to be unwrapped THEN you wrap afterwards after it's been smoking for a few hours so the meat can get the smoke flavor. Common man you should know better.

    • @safeandeffectivelol
      @safeandeffectivelol 2 месяца назад

      @@Salz88 Maybe because you remove the foil before you put it on the grill? A bit of common sense. It's the same as a reverse sear or sous vide finished on a grill

    • @Salz88
      @Salz88 2 месяца назад

      @@safeandeffectivelol You put in the grill FIRST for the first 2-3 hours so the meat can absorb all that smoky flavor, once the meat reaches desired internal temp THEN you can go ahead and wrap it in foil for tenderness. If you wrap it at the beginning during thr majority of the cooking process it's not going to give you that smoky flavor you talked about. You don't get that smokey flavor from the searing process only, it's achived during the initial cooking process at 225 - 250F low and slow. Just trying to help you out, I do this for a living.😉

    Now you are preparing something I do buy regularly and enjoy immensely. I only use salt on mine, but I may try small amounts of some of the spices/herbs you use. Usually, as I want to keep all the fat, I just salt them an cook at a low heat in my oven for 3 to 4 hours as I do short ribs and lamb roasts. I use a large Pyrex glass casserole with glass lid for many cuts of meat as it keeps it moist and creates wonderful juices. Thanks again. I would love to know your name and where you live. I am on Northern Vancouver Island myself. I wish we had a Costco here. I seem to only get to a Costco at Courtenay a couple of times per year. I want to shop at Costco more if I can get a ride down there. I am pretty hungry right now watching the end of your video, not having eaten for seven full days now... but I have a long way to go yet... Costco's reasonable pricing just isn't cutting it anymore these days. Beef is still good tasting but if i didn't have a dog to treat with all the bones. the meat to Bone ratio these days is not worth the cost. small local butcher will get you something better.

      The little amount I added works very well in this particular recipe adds some extra flavour 😊 Thanks for watching!!

    15.99 per pound ????
    Half of its bone for crying out loud !!
    I know, they taste great, but not at that price !
    Back in 1987, when I first started cutting meat, we had trouble selling them at $1,29 per lb.

      Um...they were $15.99 Canadian per KILOGRAM. That's about 5.30 USD per pound

      @samirjafri191 OK, point taken. I had zoomed in on the price but failed to see the kg.

      @brianpentecostaldeplorable9841 I was at Costco in Maryland yesterday and the beef ribs were $4.29 per Lb. And they were nice and meaty with most of the fat trimmed so not paying for throwaway fat.
