This seems like another winner for DreamWorks. A really interesting story with great animation and a timeless message. A little weird that it'll be straight-to-Netflix, but I'm still really looking forward to it.
Well, to be fair, it has to be straight-to-Netflix because DreamWorks can’t release three movies theatrically in 2024. Have you not seen what 2014 did for them?
I’ve always seen Dreamworks as the “story book” studio that takes books and puts their own spin to it. Infact a good majority of their films are based around books! It’s great to see another project that follows this formula.
A lot of people forget that the company has worked with DreamWorks before in creating series. One of those being the three part anthology series of Guillermo De Toro, Tales of Arcadia, as well as Kipo. I think this is gonna be a great movie
As an adult who is still very much terrified of the dark and suffers from multiple anxiety disorders, this movie has me excited. I REALLY wanna see this!
There is no age limit to good stories I like to say, so what if a story was written for kids, if it resonates with adults too (that were once kids and most of us have parts of us that's still a child, and that's okay) that's good!
This movie has lots of potential in my opinion ! It can be a very wholesome story with relatable characters, neat animation and art style. I'm clearly looking forward to it and hope it will deliver something pretty good and interesting. (Although the choice of Netflix is... risky)
Honestly, fear of the ocean is a very, very rational fear. If prehistoric times have taught us one thing, it is that land mammals should never, EVER venture out into the open sea unless they have a large metal block underneath.
I think this will be a movie where there isn't really a villain. If anything may be Light will be a jerk or doesn't realise he makes Dark uncomfortable either way I hope this movie is good
This movie seems like it will be interesting when it comes out! I like all of the original details they added in, along with greatly expanding from the original story. Also, I theorize that the character at 6:20 would be an embodiment of loud noises? I mean, from my experience, I get startled by sudden loud noises, and I know some people are afraid of them altogether. Either that, or maybe ‘the weird/spooky noises you hear in the dark’, as a character? I’m not sure, but I’m glad that dream works is making something at least kind of original!
Urgh, it's always so annoying to hear when animated films don't get the chance to be in cinemas. First Chicken Run 2 now this (glad I attended the premiere for that). Like so much effort is put into films, and yet we don't get the chace to see it on the largest screen possible. As for the film it looks fun, certainly feels like they're trying to make Dark reminiscent of Sully, but it's not too bad. I thought that pink entity would be dreams instead of space.
This movie is my most anticipated 2024 movie (besides Kung Fu Panda 4)! Another book adaptation that DreamWorks Animation seems to always nail! While it is a bit strange that it’s only coming to Netflix, I’m still gonna definitely watch it on release!😁 I also love how the animation is once again, a different style that DW has been trying out with their other movies. The voice acting is solid, especially for the 2 leads, Jacob Tremblay and Paul Walter Hauser. And lastly, I really hope that I can say that this movie will be better than the book.
This movie's art style genuinely looks like one of my childhood fever dreams. I like it, but at the same time, it also makes me feel deeply uncomfortable in a strange way.
@@silashurd3597 lol, love how everybody and their mother needs to be represented in a movie or a show, to have validation in something so stupid or in anything is dumb
Well, this isn't really a bad thing, technically. SCOOB! was shown on Amazon Prime in 2020 and then got a Theatrical Release a year ;ater and Fans didn't complain about that! Okay, maybe afew might have complained, but you get what I'm saying here.
The correct spelling is "So... DreamWorks is making a Netflix movie?" Here, "DreamWorks" is treated as a singular entity, so the verb "is" should also be singular.
It's not so cut and dry. Proper collective nouns are often exempt to the general rules of collective nouns. Consider the world of sports. "The Miami Heat are going to the championships!"
im excited for this movie!! I can already tell its by dreamworks, i see the sorta pencil sketch background design and that reminds a lot of the style of Puss in Boots the last wish. Im sure the story and plot is going to be generic/cliche but im all here for the visual style!!
If its going to be just as faithful as it was with the bad guys movie to the children's books, im excited!! I loved the bad guys and their really good at sequels so im highly anticipating this movie, especially all these different art styles in animation DreamWorks is doing!
hearing that it won't be in theaters ultimately ruined my mood because the style of movie really reminds me of animated blockbusters from the mid 2010s.. like big hero 6, rise of the guardians, megamind, zootopia, give or take the lego movie, and inside out. even though it got SOME attention, klaus didn't get nearly enough revenue it would've gotten if it was just released in theaters more globally. hell, wendell and wild and Guillermo del Toros pinocchio are the ONLY Netflix movies I can think of that were released in theaters. but even with that, it was *select* theaters. at least it did well! however..... movies just don't do well without a "public" enough release.. a few to mention being gnome alone, the willoughbys, under the boardwalk, sea beast, extinct, wish dragon... though they were meant for children-teens, what the hell? notice how these are all animated movies? although yea, they are without a doubt Netflix products.. they shouldn't be demeaning them less than live action. but there are obvious reasons as to why Netflix didn't release most of them in theaters. one being, it out right won't get them enough money. two being, it can't compete with other current movies in theaters. three might just be, well, its a Netflix movie.. that isn't Disney or Universal! why should I give it a shot?
Atleast for me, I cannot wait to watch this movie the trailer looks pretty good. By the way does anyone know the song that plays in the background starting from 9:27? I swear I've heard it before but I cannot remember the name of it for the life of me XD

Charlie Kaufman what a legend he did help with moral oral which is interesting
