It's 2023 and I literally just built my first Gaming PC, all thanks to you guys. Company I work for was selling a couple of T5810s cheap. At first I thought: cool, home mini server/media center. After a couple of your videos, and a substantial amount of "trips" to Ebay, I'm running quite a decent setup! Thank you so much for sharing and educating us through you guys channel!
Yesterday i installed an EVGA SC GTX 1070 and I was pleasantly surprised. My T5810 has a E5-1660 V3 and 32 GB of RAM and I got it for less than 20 bucks. I'm so happy with it.
The PSU is designed for two CPUs an one GPU with two 6-pin PCIe power jacks. As long as you are using only one CPU you can use the second power jack on the PSU circut board for another GPU power cable. I soldered a 8-pin PCIe power cable for the second CPU power jack. For this tower I would also suggest to use a videocard with a radial fan and a cooling design which blows the hot air from the GPU out of the case. Most custom designs would just heat up the small tower and clock rates may decrease after some gaming time. Some undervolting will also result in lower temperatures and mostly higher clocks.
I got one from my job. I upgraded the PSU and put a GTX 1660 in it. Unfortunately I'm running off of a SATA SSD but soon, thanks to your vid, I'm going to be running the OS off of an M.2 NVMe and using the the SATA SSDs for storage (cause I'm cheap). Thanks for the vid!
@@GreenPCGamerscom Yeah man thinking about these two upgrades right about now, struggling with heat dissipation only running Team Fortress 2....LOL using a quadro k620 tho quite impressed
Glad to hear other people are getting by with these old beasts too, just wanted to say thank you for the replies a year later I'm gaming over 100fps just by adding a 1660 Super! Learned a lot from this channel thanks again!
I upgraded the processor to Intel Xeon 1650 V3 and RTX3060 12GB running on the stock 685W PSU. It runs fine, i use it for deep learning work, running darknet YOLO object detection model training and inference.
Most modern GPUs don't fit this case as the outer case "door" has an annoying bump rivetted on which reduces case width by about an inch or so - just enough so you can't close the case. You should either get a low profile GPU or you won't be able to close the case.

I just found one of these. With Xeon 1650 v3 though. its got 64gb DDR4 2133mhz + geforce 1080. 530 USD, is that a good deal? Got a great main rig, this is for replacing my 2nd "retro" rig. Honestly i cant find a deal like this for the same price!
We can't know for sure unless we test them side by side. However, we'd probably choose the T5810 because of the additional cpu cores and higher wattage power supply.

I just got one with a 1650 v3 cpu. I plan on putting a amd RX 6600 in here shortly. Do you know if its worth upgrading? and if so, worth it going to like a 1660 v4?
For gaming, it wouldn't be worth the upgrade. However, it might be worth the upgrade for the additional cores if you are using the cpu for rendering/batching projects.
Also odd question, would I be able to use a Intel Xeon E5-2697 to install within the T5810 tower. It says its able to take it, but I just wanna know if it actually does good for the system or not.
We've never tried the E5-2697 processor in a T5810 Workstation. If it was going to work, it would have to be the V3 or V4 version. Let us know if you try it.
Is it possible to boot from the (NVME via PCIE adapter) on a T5600 with the LGA 2011 (E5-XXXX V1) dual socketed motherboard? My current understanding is that even with the NVME M.2 adapter, this is not supported on this older XEON-based DELL desktop server.

You mentioned the limitations of power from the DELL for this card. I have been offered a GTX 1080i for a good price from a friend. Will it work in my T5810?

@@GreenPCGamerscom Found an awesome deal on a E5-2680v3. That looks like it would work. What do you think?
It will work. It has a slower base and max frequency, but it does have 12 cores. What is the main use of the system?
@@GreenPCGamerscom It'll be for gaming, and some media creation/manipulation. Thing is, this proc is better than my current system in every single way! I'll let you know how it all turns out!
How are the temps? Not the exact temps just does it overheat
The temps vary based off of the settings that you choose. We made a custom perforated side panel that helps mitigate really well on the T-Series workstations. Check out the video: ruclips.net/video/6-VXnMOschE/видео.html
@@GreenPCGamerscom ok thank you.
To use a VR do I need to plug the HDMI into GPU or into motherboard?
What type of VR system do you have?
Oculus rift has beginner, but I might move to Vive later.
Unfortunately we have never tested that particular system. I bet another creator has posted some good content on how to setup an Oculus Rift.
@@GreenPCGamerscom not a big deal it actually works when plugged in the GPU
Hey, guys I bought 1080 but when I try to install drivers on Windows 10 pro, it says drive are not supported on this version of the windows. Any thoughts please? because my 970 worked fine.

He uses ligma
Do you know if I could install E5 2637v2 or 2643 v2 CPU? I did look into the blog but couldn't find the answer I was looking for.
The T5810 doesn't support V2 Processors. You must use E5-26XX V3 or V4 processors. Our recommended processors are on the T5810 blog page.
@@GreenPCGamerscomcould it be any v3, v4 or above like v5 etc. Also, I heard some work station do support i7 CPU since they have the same sockets. Is this the case with 5810?
DON28ist the T5810 doesn’t support I7 CPU’s. You are thinking of the Precision T1700, T3620, and T3630.

@@GreenPCGamerscom is it possible to change the gaming graphic card on this precision model ?
Hi, did you boot in M2 disk ??????
Yes
can i stick a standard ssd drive in this machine is it compatible?
Most 2.5" SATA SSD's will work in the T5810 workstation. You will need a 2.5" to 3.5" drive to install the drive. What brand/model SSD do you plan to install?
are you able to close the chassis?
