8:17 Are you sure that is how a vertical mouse grip should be?
He uses it like a normal mouse.
I have M4 Max 40c gpu version, and I think it's pretty solid. I also work on Unreal and some 3d geomapping software. kind of regret not getting the 128gb ram version.
The only thing I dislike is the power draw, during some heavy GPU load tasks, I captured some peak 167w~200w power usage from the system total, which is far beyond the 140w charger can offer. I don't think this is quite good for the battery.
Lets be real bro. You need an m2 pro max in 2025...
so which size you prefer as a software engineer? 14 or 16 inch? is it worth to pay 500$ extra for 16inch? or should you that 500$ invest in an external monitor?
No one should ever use the notebook as the main screen expectation ofc sitting in meetings/on the road so safe yourself the 500$
always external monitor - i would never want just the mac. if i spent more time solely on the macbook i'd probably want the 16 but given i'm mostly using an UW alongside it the extra cash and portability tradeoff isn't worth it
What VSCode theme do u use?

@ColeCaccamise 👍🏻 thanks
m4 max just for programming wtf?
great video, really enjoyed it! Just a super super light critique, as someone with some voice training I figured I would just point out at the end of your sentences you have a tendency to emphasise, drone and elongate on your last word of most sentences.
It can cause the video to feel a little fatiguing. I doubt you care and most probably wouldnt notice but just thought you might want to know!
Cool video thanks. Why do you slur the last word in every sentence, it is kinda annoying. Otherwise very informative video and I love your setup overall. Thanks Cole.
Bro, all you need to do is literally use the three finger gesture and move across different desktops to switch between apps, one app per desktop... come on.
too much work
wake up! cole posted

What are you using for your menu bar?
I think it's Bartender but I'm not sure.
@@williambrisa It is Bartender. You can change menu bar styles. You'll have to enable rounded separate sides.
@ Thank you very much for the reply! I find the pill design so cool.
This is the exact mac I'm planning to buy now so it's a very timely video. You touched all the points I've been trying to research except nano texture display. The 2-3 hours on heavy computing doesn't sound good to me, but maybe I can live with it. And that you find 36 gb ram and 1 TB storage fine is good to hear. The screen getting a bit cramped is also a minus, but probably I can live with it.
I want a powerful and portable computer, and you seem to be very content with it despite the trade-offs.
As of now I'm gonna go ahead with my purchase and I'm very much looking forward to working on it. I'm also hoping that it will perform well for the next 4-6 years. Right now I'm coding, making music and maybe I'll do more video editing, so my workflow is not crazy demanding. I just hope I'll experience good battery life on the daily, like 8 hours at least between charges.
U r usingn ur electric toothbrush wrong!!!! U r not supposed to scrub ur teeth with an electric toothbrush. Ur toothbrush is doin the job by vibration alone
mac window management is so out of date right now that people are installing paid apps just to be able to switch between windows comfortably. Damn I`m so happy I switched to Gnome years ago
paid apps? The best ones are all open sourced free ones.
raycast has window management for free. before i used rectangle which is completely free (and i believe open source)
colee when will we get the s25 ultra review
didn't get around to checking it out this year, not sure if I will doesn't seem like much of an upgrade
@ColeCaccamise thats true nothing really changed
The icon group system tray on top right corner looks non-standard. How did you switch it?
