REO Brothers: More Than A Cover Band I’ve been watching lately videos on RUclips and Facebook of a family band called REO Brothers from the Philippines covering popular music from the 60’s, 70’s, and the 80’s. The band is composed of four brothers (sometimes 5) from Tacloban City from the Visayas region of the Philippines. Their covers of popular songs of The Bee Gees, America, Simon & Garfunkel , Cliff Richards, etc. are really well made and totally enjoyable. But their covers of Beatles songs are the ones who really got me hooked on these young men. Having came of age in the early part of the 80’s and having been exposed to the sound of The Beatles through my good high school friends, I could tell you that this group really captured that special sound that made The Beatles one of the best rock and roll bands of all time. The soaring and tight harmonies are really outstanding and if you are an avid Beatles fan you will know that they really worked hard to capture the nuances of each song. And knowing their humble beginnings you will love them more. I will not bore you with all the details on how they started but a quick google search will lead you to believe that they indeed deserve all the success they are enjoying right now. It is easy to dismiss them as a mere cover band but the hard work they put on every song is really remarkable. Those tight harmonies and playing the instruments very close to the original for sure did not come by accident. It can only come from long hours of research and practice. Many have natural born talents but it will take hard work and dedication to harness them into good use. These young men are indeed testaments to the power of dogged perseverance. I will be a fan for a long time.

Yeah, on the Stereo Remaster from 2009 you can hear Paul really cut one of the lines short, it actually sounds pretty rough (can't tell on the mono remaster though). There's an outtake where John mentions how hard the song is to sing, I believe.
If I Fell, my favorite. I don't know about the 2009 remaster mentioned above, but the harmony never fails to astonish me - this in addition to the rest of the collective talent of the Beatles. There will never be another time that a group like the Beatles could emerge. How lucky we are. I cannot think how less rich our lives wold be without them.
The brothers' rendition of "If I Fell" never fails to give me the chills no matter how many times I listen to it. Love all their covers but there are quite a few that are very special and magical, IIF is one of them.

I admit they are good but they would even say they aren’t comparable to the Beatles vocally or instrumentality. The Fab Four come the closest but the originals there is and never will be any one ever to touch them and the talent they possessed.

They were “Denied” Tour Visa to the US about six years ago.They were young Teens.The purpose was about a Tour Concert for Relief Donations to the devastating Super Typhoon that strucked their Island with 10,000 deaths. They looked so young, thin, and wearing just plain clothes during the US Embassy Interview in Manila.Probably, their looks didn’t pass the standards of the Interviewer.Maybe they look unorganized,untalented, poor-looking guys to the eyes of the Interviewer.Maybe the impression of the Interviewer, they will Hide upon entry to the US.Fortunately, due to the influence of the Organizers they were allowed entry to the US.If the US Embassy Personnel’s will see them today,maybe, they will be astonished by their credible skills, talent and performance.Sometimes it’s difficult to judge, look-down, underestimate ,someone with their outside looks.At the end, you will say “ Oh it’s amazing” !! Lesson : Never underestimate people with their race,color,size and outside-looks.There are people who are gifted with GOD given talents...
Absolutely right! The world is going through a really tough time right now. Time to reaccess how we judge people at face value, and find the compassion and love that we seem to have lost. I was born in CA US after WWII my Mom was born in Cebu. She would have been proud of you boys. I am so happy when I hear you sing. My Mom wouldn't let me go to the Hollywood Bowl to see The Beatles. I cried for days so she gave up and let me go to a "Doors" concert instead. Haha. She didn't know who they were. I saw them when I was 14 yrs. old at the "Anaheim Convention Center" across the street from Disneyland. Love your music.so talented!! MATAHUM!!

They should have sent a video of themselves playing prior to their interview at the US Embassy, along with a link to their RUclips channel, or at the very least dressed up nicely. An interview in any situation, be it for a job, or an entry visa, necessitates preparation and looking your best. That’s just common sense.
Yes, they were initially denied a visa to enter the US. With the help of an immigration lawyer, they eventually got their US visa and were able to make it to New York and perform at the Madison Square Garden in the Yolanda fundraiser Concert "Pinoy Relief". Attorney Michael Gurfinkel said, “One of the issues is the boys have never been outside the Philippines before, which made getting the visa that much more difficult".

I've always liked If I Fell. Just goosebumps... It's 1:30AM here. RUclips finally put you guys in my "recommended" maybe an hour ago. Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel, Beatles, Beach Boys... You guys are good. It's nice to hear the old songs done by young groups.
I didn't really "grow up" with the Beatles, but being 50 puts me way ahead (in years) of these boys. There have been hundreds of bands I know who copied the Fav 4, and the closest was the Beatlemania, until the REO brothers came... Musically, these boys right here are the closest you'll ever get to the real thing.
You all sing superbly on these Beatle songs..but anyone who’s played any music by The Beatles knows very well they can be quite quirky to perform..so I’d like to pay a compliment on your musicianship! Outstanding!!

I am so glad I found these guys singing my childhood favorite songs, which i used to listened only on the radio. Then, became our favorite past time when my younger brother learned to play a guitar. But with these talented guys, their songs now are in my favorite playlists which I used to listen everyday! Thanks to Reo Brothers! Hope I could be able to watch you performing live. After this Pandemic. God bless us all!

Dixie I can say almost close to perfection.The vocal harmonies,the blending, the instruments note for note deliberation.They’ve done it almost 95% ...that’s my grading system....what can I do....that’s it..
I've pointed out just how profoundly great you guys are to me, more times than I can remember...it's still true! Just phenomenal....I could listen to you play every Beatle song ever recorded...and when you got to the "last one" I'd want you to start over. You have also done so many other groups now, I've lost track, and each one is spot on as far as faithful recreation of the original. Can't sing your praises loud enough or long enough. Would love the opportunity to jam with you, but not gonna hold my breath on that one!LOL Am commenting here just so I can suggest that you maybe turn up the volume on the drums a notch...at least a half a notch.....the drums were an integral part of the original Beatles sound, and so important to making their "sound"...you have everything else 110% percent perfect...just need to hear the drums a tiny bit more. Love the rendition of "If I Fell" and all the others as well....can't praise you enough.

i believe Reo Bros are heaven sent. God created them for us to simply love music and entertain people all over the world like me amidst the on going covid pandemic or without, their music is truly impossible to resists, my heart is overwhelming with joy every time i watch them singing because their music is absolutely mind blowing or psychedelic...much love, God bless!!!

The original was a musical.
I admit they are good but they would even say they aren’t comparable to the Beatles vocally or instrumentality.
The Fab Four come the closest but the originals there is and never will be any one ever to touch them and the talent they possessed.

They were “Denied” Tour Visa to the US about six years ago.They were young Teens.The purpose was about a Tour Concert for Relief Donations to the devastating Super Typhoon that strucked their Island with 10,000 deaths. They looked so young, thin, and wearing just plain clothes during the US Embassy Interview in Manila.Probably, their looks didn’t pass the standards of the Interviewer.Maybe they look unorganized,untalented, poor-looking guys to the eyes of the Interviewer.Maybe the impression of the Interviewer, they will Hide upon entry to the US.Fortunately, due to the influence of the Organizers they were allowed entry to the US.If the US Embassy Personnel’s will see them today,maybe, they will be astonished by their credible skills, talent and performance.Sometimes it’s difficult to judge, look-down, underestimate ,someone with their outside looks.At the end, you will say “ Oh it’s amazing” !!
Lesson : Never underestimate people with their race,color,size and outside-looks.There are people who are gifted with GOD given talents...
Absolutely right! The world is going through a really tough time right now. Time to reaccess how we judge people at face value, and find the compassion and love that we seem to have lost. I was born in CA US after WWII my Mom was born in Cebu. She would have been proud of you boys. I am so happy when I hear you sing. My Mom wouldn't let me go to the Hollywood Bowl to see The Beatles. I cried for days so she gave up and let me go to a "Doors" concert instead. Haha. She didn't know who they were. I saw them when I was 14 yrs. old at the "Anaheim Convention Center" across the street from Disneyland. Love your music.so talented!! MATAHUM!!

They should have sent a video of themselves playing prior to their interview at the US Embassy, along with a link to their RUclips channel, or at the very least dressed up nicely. An interview in any situation, be it for a job, or an entry visa, necessitates preparation and looking your best. That’s just common sense.
Yes, they were initially denied a visa to enter the US. With the help of an immigration lawyer, they eventually got their US visa and were able to make it to New York and perform at the Madison Square Garden in the Yolanda fundraiser Concert "Pinoy Relief". Attorney Michael Gurfinkel said, “One of the issues is the boys have never been outside the Philippines before, which made getting the visa that much more difficult".

I didn't really "grow up" with the Beatles, but being 50 puts me way ahead (in years) of these boys. There have been hundreds of bands I know who copied the Fav 4, and the closest was the Beatlemania, until the REO brothers came... Musically, these boys right here are the closest you'll ever get to the real thing.
You all sing superbly on these Beatle songs..but anyone who’s played any music by The Beatles knows very well they can be quite quirky to perform..so I’d like to pay a compliment on your musicianship!

I've pointed out just how profoundly great you guys are to me, more times than I can remember...it's still true! Just phenomenal....I could listen to you play every Beatle song ever recorded...and when you got to the "last one" I'd want you to start over. You have also done so many other groups now, I've lost track, and each one is spot on as far as faithful recreation of the original. Can't sing your praises loud enough or long enough. Would love the opportunity to jam with you, but not gonna hold my breath on that one!LOL Am commenting here just so I can suggest that you maybe turn up the volume on the drums a notch...at least a half a notch.....the drums were an integral part of the original Beatles sound, and so important to making their "sound"...you have everything else 110% percent perfect...just need to hear the drums a tiny bit more. Love the rendition of "If I Fell" and all the others as well....can't praise you enough.
