when she first made this and jon produced this group of songs the original name of this song was "used to love him" when extraordinary machine was realeased the name was changed for Tymps
this album was released with at least three different versions.. i believe this was the second.. i know for sure its not the first.. i liked the first the best.. for all the songs on the album.. but she clearly was not satisfied... either way.. either version.. its all good!!
I think I prefer the version on the album. I know Sonybmg got a hard time from her fans for 'commercialising' the third record but I think its her best work.
@@neilefc877 I hadn't heard that - aside from the problem about the approval process. Where does she say it, please? Personally I like the final album much better than these rough drafts.
@@BillHaines37 There was a leaked version and the critics loved it for its quirkiness. The final, leaner album was one that Sony pushed. At least thats what I read. Im not sure how true it is. I since heard Fiona herself was the driving force behind the official record sounding cleaner because she felt the leaked "artsy" one was too heavily influenced by Jon Brion.
@@neilefc877 She talks about the versions in some interviews, for example at 2:00-4:45 and 8:30-9:30 in this: ruclips.net/video/sisj-TUa038/видео.html It seems clear that the leaked version was nobody’s idea of a final product, and that the final album was very much FA’s idea of what the final product should be. I’m not surprised that critics liked the leaked album when it came out, but I wonder whether any critics preferred it once they’d heard both?
yeah , what is different about it? Was she maybe a wee bit younger or just plumper? And that was meant in the nicest way , anyhow she is charming no matter what.
she´s gorgeous ♥
She looks like my pseudo-ex and her lyrics remind me of her. "Ideal" combination.
aye, it's tymps...love, love this version!
This is the version from the leaked version of Extraordinary Machine. :)
far better than what was officially released.
She's a fucking genius... thank God for such talent... Love Fiona!!!
Huh, haven't heard this version of the song in ages. Thanks for posting.
SO MUCH BETTER than the official version!
so so great!
what a quirky version of this song! i'm in love with it!
This version is better :) love her ❤️❤️

Oh I love this!
Honestly like both versions of this sooo much.
On the bootleg version it was called "Used to Love Him"

Nicky Styles I LOVE this version
Jenic Darling In fairness, Id say Fiona agrees with you. I dont think she was happy with the production on that record.

I cant stop loving this song I want to marry it....is that legal
She is I love her
This version is better
Nice!
true, good point.
Sounds good sweetheart. A little diabolical
yes it is
I like this version a lot better.
i like this version...........
This version is so much better than the other one.
This is the original (Jon Brion-produced) version, no?
Whoever played the piano in this version, went to music school. Sounds sick. She almost sounds as the backup singer of the pianist.
+Joma Figueroa Sorry, know this post is old.. anyway, Fiona is the pianist. :)
No, this is the original

That's not a picture of Fiona Apple. I'm surprised that I didn't see someone else comment about it when it's so obvious.
Uff
futurama?
Apprarently you didn't have the time to listen....?
Oh Dude!!! you are so fuckin far from the only one.
She reminds me Regina Spektor
Regina Spektor wish.
This song's name is "Tymps (The sick in the head song)" not "Used to love him".
She looks so different in the photo, but I think it's because she has a tiny bit more weight on her.
No it's Nicki Minaj -.-
Ok yep you misnamed the song and is this live
