    My compliments for your work Rick Hotton Sensei. I'm a Goju ryu practicioner and I love this video because you understand perfectly what is the essence of karate and you transport that to your style. Congratulations.

      Zé Mário sir you are a true martial artist giving that type of humbleness and humility I congratulate you because so many people on the comment section love to just make someone feel bad because they can't exercise their own diminishment of their ego you became a great inspiration to me to do the same when I see somebody on here making the bad comment I want to go to war with them automatically instead of just enjoying the technique when I read your comment it allows me to go back in and keep myself from roaring like a lion and instead just wanting to make sure that my training and my belief Within Myself my spirit is strong and not someone else's comment through your fantastically amazing wonderful comment that you made to Sensei Rick Hutton makes me not only respect him the respect you too but there are good martial artists out there thank you sir

    Exceptionally advanced training here. A wave of momentum....the cracking of a whip. I had no idea that Shotokan practitioners knew any of this. It really impressed me. And this instructor teaches very clearly. If you are his student, you are very lucky.

      @Jam AK 4 years of southern Kung Fu, mostly forms from Hung Gar. Then 4 years of Ba Gua. That's where the internal study began. Then on and off training in various styles of Kung Fu. Most of the truly advanced training came from sharing techniques and theories of movement with other Kung Fu experts. Never studied Karate other than studying DVDs. No experience in Jui Jitsu or Judo.

    I've been teaching this principle since the day I became an instructor. It makes me feel happy to know that I'm not alone in this way of thinking. I don't teach Shotokan, but I teach this principle in my own style.

    Da Vinci: "Everything is related to everything else". I've shared several of Hotton Sensei's links with my colleagues in Chayon-Ryu. He is the Mikhail Baryshnikov of Karate making what he does seem effortless for the same reasons. And to quote Michelangelo, “The sculpture is already complete within the marble block, before I start my work. It is already there, I just have to chisel away the superfluous material.”

    The most beautiful form of martial arts is the flow. When the body flows, it connects to the Earth. The Earth supports us, allowing us to live well, it is also our greatest ally to generate power. Harness the power of the Earth just as you harness a sword or staff; it is your greatest source of power after your core.

    Awesome speed and power in all techniques . I'm an ITF taekwondo Teacher and we do something similar called, Sine Wave. What I found amazing about yours is the lack of mechanical pattern ( the # 1 followed by # 2 motions or start and end)..is fluent, explosive and very powerful. Great!

      do not forget, the actual karateka that went thru 10 black belts and starting his 11th that looks brand new. He might actually be the one to watch out for. some "black" belts have ONE BELT for 20 years. Depending on material, the belt Disintegrates or shreds , IT DOES NOT WEAR EVENLY LIKE I SEE MOST OF time on most "masters". (experienced karateka knows what i am talking about).

    • @draltar
      @draltar 8 лет назад +2

      that means nothing... some high rank Black Belts like to have a belt in good condition = buying new ones after they become "white", also many wrought black belts are made from silk = they become like that very early - the belt means nothing, a 1st Dan is only the beginning of a long journey, it's the skill that shows who's good or not

    Don't hit with nkute if you didn't train your finger. I did with little force to soft part of a sand bag and i end upp with mallet finger😅 it is not painful but it take months to recover. It takes too long to recover. Skip nkute😅.
