    Every simple idea that Hotton Sensei can explain in a single sentence, is a decade long endeavour. Mainly because each concept is so broad and deep.

    Hotton Sensei understands how energy moves through the body.
    He is one of the very few that understands body mechanics.
    The result of year's of serious study.

      Many understand, few can explain and convey that understanding

    Hotton sensei is hot, his martial science, is right on.
    I have a 3rd degree Black Sash in Northern Kung fu, and a 2nd degree Black belt in USA Goju Karate, and now studying Kuk Sool Won with Master Marin Sims. And he goes over the same concepts of movement. Im 62 years old from the old skool of Budo Karate or Martial Arts, and its a great life.. blessings to Hotton Sensei and all the student

    Nice form! I practiced shotokan for years. Tested under Okazaki but haven’t been active for awhile. Always appreciate good form. Not even all Shotokan have good form.

    Oss sensei!
    So incredibly sharp and "elegant" techniques with all body parts connected, great!! And with explanations also "normal" karateka understand, no "esoteric" chi stuff (nothing against chi if meant as using the right tanden breathing for energizing muscles and connecting from the core...). Rick Hotton is maybe the best non-japanese technician in Karate!

    how did you get such a speed in your techniques. do you have any training for that or is it just repeat repeat?

    • @fabienbordes7788
      @fabienbordes7788 Год назад

      He understabd how to move efficiently. In fact, he isn't that fast. But there is no wasted movement. So your eyes isn't catching the movement easily.
      Obviously, he good a good physical ability to. You always need physical training to a minimum.
      But what's really impressive is his technical ability.

    No amount of explanation will lead a student to get the feeling of what the teacher is saying. Most sensei's spend too much time explaining this or the technic or this or that movement.
    Back in the days it was more about doing the technics and movements.and kumite was heavy.....No disrespect Oss
