People have no idea how exhausting these shadow boxing actually is. You get tires out pretty fast doing it for even just 3 minute at a fraction of his intensity so you can imagine his cardiovascular endurance is insane
My cardio isn’t the greatest but I am in pretty good shape but there’s two things I can do that can tire me out in less than a full minute, burpees and shadow boxing I’ve done shadow boxing a few times but with actual gloves on to make it seem like I was actually boxing 12 rounds in just 10 minutes I would be pouring sweat like I was In a scorching dry desert with no water, heart rate at least 175 my shoulders would be aching from lifting those gloves up so many times, mike was one in a million!.
I read somewhere that the only reason mike lost however many fights he lost, was because he was not only under the influence of substances, but because his bodies condition needed to be kept at its peak at all times to maintain proper use of that style he uses. So yeah, I would imagine so.

Ppl may disagree but I think Mike’s most impressive feature is his lighting fast head movement. When his opponents throw a power punch and miss, they leave themselves wide open
Absolutely! He has incredible speed and accuracy. He almost never threw a punch and stood still. Each punch he moves his head and works around his opponents with footwork to get certain angles to catch his opponents off guard. Truly remarkable...
@Tavara Yes, I absolutely agree with you. To me, Mike was the whole picture of what an exciting, dynamic fighter should be, and with respect, that's absolutely what he set his sights and goals in what he wanted and intended to achieve. There was no just turning up, going the distance and winning on points with Mike. In his earlier years, he did it all in style. Obviously, after that, that's when the rot set in. He didn't have Cus, Kevin Rooney, and Teddy Atlas, who were crucial to his mindset and focus and success. There was the rape trial and marriage to the wrong people. Mike also struggled with how he thought people saw him and how he thought their opinion was of him. That showed he cared very much. Of course, now, we see the true Mike. He's a great, generous, caring guy, and it's great to see him happy now, content, and enjoying life with his family, with no demons. His early life, constantly training, reading, watching about past champions which moulded him into the person he was, the person he had to be, to be so successful and dynamic. Don't forget, many of Mike's fights were won with his ring walk, before a punch was thrown. A great example of that was in June 1988. You could virtually see Michael Spinks knees trembling, he wouldn't look at Mike. Hence, the fight didn't last the first round. You never see that now. That was down to Mike, his dedication, his discipline, and respect to his sport and the fact he strived to be the best. I honestly don't think you'll ever see any heavyweight boxer shadow box like Mike Tyson. That had never been seen before. The textbooks said it was impossible. That dynamisium, speed, accuracy, feriousness, and agility was thought to be beyond a muscular, well-built heavyweight. Then, Mike came and did it!
I practiced his head movement, then walking and doing it. Down the track someone coming around the corner and see me are literally shocked. It is quite a sight. Try it.
This gives me such inspiration when I'm at the gym. If you want to toughen up, practice following his moves. Learn from the best...watch his movements.
