- 9-year-old David Balogun is one step closer to achieving his dream of becoming an astrophysicist after obtaining his high school diploma. He and his family join "CNN This Morning" and he gets to chat with Neil deGrasse Tyson. #CNN #News
The father spoke for his son to give his son time to process his answer. That's excellent parenting.
I totally peeped that too. After all, he’s still a kid. As intelligent as he might be for his age, he’ll still has to develop socially.
That's not excellent parenting...he's 9...they know their son's lack of communication skills...
He may be "genius"...
but what is that ???
No shows his , son used the computer, and anyone with half a brain could have done the EXACT same thing if they tried. Especially, with todays Dumb down school system.
Don't agree that is good parenting. If his father keeps interjecting for his son how will he be able to develop good communication skills. This boy already shows poor articulation.
@@telopa1 You sound like a jealous B***H! 😂😂 Get well soon!
This father said ‘I never told him shut up or go sit down’ 👏🏼 this is what happens when we take the time to genuinely raise our children with respect and complete attention to their questions and observations. Bravo parents bravo!
Yep when the mind is left alone intelligent design will manifest wonders !! Unfortunately we live in a world that lives to suppress what it is unfamiliar with. They are better known as Dream Chasers no disrespect to Meek Mill
You do know not every child is an EXACT duplicate of young David there, right? Just saying.

My oldest brother was valedictorian in high school and In His final speech he surprised everyone with saying that he was going to be the best garbage man anyone has ever met 😂 he actually turned out to be a city sewage engineer so that wasn't too far from it.
Lol. Reminds me of a cousin. He is considered a genius and was offered scholarships to plenty of the top institutions in America, and some school in London. Long story short, he ended up joining the Navy, now he's a high ranking intelligence officer and he gets to the tell same joke with seriousness "If I tell you, I may have to kill you" 🤣

Am I the only one who wanted to hear more about David's theory about the beginning of the universe??? I"m all excited to hear more! That theory sounds amazing
They made sure to shut it down before he got to say it.
From what I'm getting, he's refuting the idea that energy cannot be created or destroyed. The problem with that is the fact that scientists believe the universe is constantly expanding. And in order to do that you have to create new matter which requires energy. HOW would you create new matter if energy cannot be created? When you think about it, he's actually right.
@@reactking7093 that's what got my attention. I always thought the same thing and i have a theory about where this extra energy is really coming from. I was hoping to hear if he had the same thoughts
I was upset when they cut that child off. When he makes history later that network will regret not getting the whole theory.
You can tell the child and the parents are both very well educated. The question he just asked at the end of the interview was amazing and will probably be a great way to introduce different forms of matter that will change the way we look at the universe. His premise is very strong.
Nigeria 🇳🇬 is proud of you the Balogun Family. Well done David 🥰....Go do yourself, family and country proud.

Sad that the commentator is trying to get him to play basketball and "be a kid". He is not a kid he grew up years ago. I would have liked to have heard him finish what he was saying
Learning and understanding about what every thing is is what astrophysicists do
My daughter went to college at the age of 11 and became assistant to the Professor in chemistry one year later. My advice is: Stay invisible. Early fame can be harmful to your child. Happiness is still the most important thing in life. Now that you are sure he will be financially secure, make sure that he will develop harmoniously while enjoying the only childhood that he has. I am happy for you, and good luck to all of you.
11 y old is ridiculous. Even IF their brain is more advanced earlier - which is what it is - it’s almost tantamount to child abuse
@@ace8184 Why can't you just accept the fact that that child is a genius?
I hate media segments! Didn't even let David finish his thought.😢
The reason the father answered for his son David at 6:13 to thank Neil DeGrasse Tyson is because Dad knows his son's patterns. Once the hosts insisted on hearing David's view on meeting Neil, David took the convo into another direction (The "Big Bang" Theory)--something Dad already knew was going to happen. This proved once again that parents tend to know their children better than most other people ever will.
That is true Emile, I think that this was the chance for David to have a conversation with someone with whom he can talk on a level that he can understand, and non-other then Neil Degrasse Tyson, I am wondering if in high school could he have those type of conversations with students or teachers alone rather than someone who is up at that level, just curious.
Agreed
Overstand the young man's father tried to circumvent his son's theory because it's correct and challenges the adult's feeble understanding of reality which threatens their false sense of comfort in the lies the system propagates.
He's right the old science paradigm is wrong the big bang theory is simply that a theory.

Except there is actual research on young people who are considered gifted early on in life. The vast majority make no significant contributions in life outside of the norm. By 25 they are no further along than their peers but many are severely psychologically damaged as they did not get to be children and were thrust into adulthood left needlessly. I hold three degrees including a doctorate and I could not imagine anything worst than a 9 year old sitting in a college classroom and being in that environment vs with other 9 year olds as education is not limited to books. Research emotional intelligence!

He is already challenging existing theories. He could be anything he wants to be. What an incredible mind.
challenging existing theories is easy. Anybody can do it. Religion does it all the time. The problem is the scientific evidence. Time and time again, geniuses' children come and bring up the challenges, but until now, none prevail. there's a difference between a good idea and arrogance. This kid finished high school, but he's yet to learn more about scientific knowledge. He should bring up his "challenge" when he learns all the published scientific papers. And there are literally tens of thousands of them. Even if he just read it without learning it, he will need at least 5 years just to finish reading it
When everything was infinitely dense, the physics of the universe didn't exist/function the way they do now. The kid didn't consider this, hence his hypothesis can be immediately discredited.

Congratulations young man. My youngest son is a physicist and engineer.... we need more of you to ask the new questions.
I wish you the best in life!!
Hopefully this little man will come to recognize that what he has is a gift and it is a big deal. And not everyone has that type of gift. To be humble.
I wouldn’t go buy all the scores or even the pace at which he excelled, but you can tell by the look in his eyes and the way he speaks he’s smart.
Love how he instantly started talking about his physics idea with Neil
ask him what he thinks about the constitution and bill or rights reneging.....and JFK....
He's so humble! What an insightful, honorable young man
@@evanroth2805 I agree that David Balogun's response may show a lack of empathy in that he couldn't identify with why his mom saw graduation at 9 as unusual. But that same quality may be humbleness in that he may be presuming that anyone could do it. No need to pile on; many police will be more than happy to do that for you.
this deGrasse character has been in trouble for raping women
And you have him on tv talking to kids? sick american deviants
@@evanroth2805 WHITE FOLKS, WHITE FOLKS WHITE FOLKS ,ALWAYS WHITE FOLKS..Disparaging a 9 year old that has accomplished something Extraordinary. Cant just say Congradulations. BUT if he committed a Crime yall would be all over him calling him a typical Black Thug..Man Do Yall Not ANY SHAME?
This kid is so composed
I don't appreciate how Don took on this interview, but I do applaud how these parents have the time for the child. Yes, he is still a child just in another level intellectually. The father was just trying to help his son process that answer. I love how the mom explained the way they had to find other means of education (not the traditional one) to feed his curiosity because that's the way David learns the most. That was very sweet and kind of her explaining this with details.
Then two comments below you Charlotte Brooks says 😂 haha
Beautiful little soul, please protect this child at all times!!!!
I love that he’s still a kid. That’s what impresses me the most. He still acts his age and that is a blessing. ❤ So happy for him.
Yea that’s kind of the point
Get them back on! For longer please!
Don’t forget how smart his parents are. They’re both doctors. They say smart parents make smart kids! I’m rooting for David. My mom n dad were both highly educated. I once got in trouble for being “too bright in class”.
Oh my goodness this just warms my heart looking at this brilliant young man!!! What amazing parents he has and I also love Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson!
He is a boy. Not a grown up.
@@rickmerritt128 I'm aware of that which is why I said "young man."
@@saramatthews7159 what is his age?
I am so proud of this young man at 9yrs who graduated from high school and finished his first year of college what a blessing and inspiration to other young people God bless you David. The sky is the limited go make a different in the lives of others. Congratulations to the parents!
He should be awarded and should be enabled to inspire the children of the world
Wonderful news such a blessing to see our people presented in a bright light. I hope Dr Degrass Tyson mentors David.
The way his face lit up at the mention of Neal. Clearly David is a fan.
Wishing David much happiness and fulfilment, alongside stellar success. Huge admiration to the parents for taking this genius in their loving stride💡💛
