An American Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 registration N338ST, performing flight AAL1327 from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (KJFK) to Cancun International Airport (MMUN). Flight was cleared for take-off from runway 31L and started the acceleration when the aircraft on the ground DAL471 informed ATC that there was a fuel coming out of the right wing of American 1327. The controller informed AAL1327 and they stopped climb at 3000 feet, declared an emergency and returned to JFK.

When the controller mentions other aircraft he says they are going to 31R but the caption says 31L at 3:22 into the video.

    Seems all calm and polite...
What we don't see or hear is the effect on all the planning and lining up that the controllers have in place for everyone else in the air.

Float stuck in the carburetor, need to bash it with a screwdriver handle till it comes loose.

Those passengers had to be kind of freaked out with that 360 turn after they thought they were off straight to their destination

Wow, for one time the Controller didnt need to ask for fuel &souls- pilot delivered it with emergency call.

@@TypicalDutchSaysHi Just like "Declaring emergency". And there I rally think they should get it together and start following the procedures and rules. The "In sight" thing is not that important since it is very clear what it is about.

Let me guess, you've never heard of a surge tank vent, and are unaware that even magic Airbus airplanes have them, and are also unaware that even magic Airbus surge tank vents are subject to routine maintenance inspections, which occasionally result in the drain seat springs not properly sealing. How's that for a guess?

    • @Ignatiusyip1978

AA1327 is usually fly from JFK NY to CUN MX by 737max8
And yes, every one should work in the airline industry before they can even make a guess.
Not too long ago 2 737 fell off the sky after how many yrs no major accident again? And recently a nice big new window for passengers to enjoy the nice night view, and good quality pilot windows.
For your info I actually like Boeing over AirBus, more a pilot plane than the automatic European, if you don't want to improve and keep things the way it is be my guest, I don't even care

Vent surge or the fuel drain that got stuck after routine inspection. Nothing about the aircraft itself, mostly maintenance
