I developed a severe case after being wrongfully given antipsychotics for a condition I never had for too long. Now I'm attempting to litigate for the suffering I've endured.
@Zaros Because I was being given medication as a treatment for a condition I lacked. Unfortunately the treatment was justified given the presented evidence. However, my new psychiatrist has me on both Ropinirole and Ingrezza, both of which have helped immensely.
How does it help? I take clonidine to aid with symptoms but it just makes me sleepy..
@@Schoby For me, the Ingrezza specifically helps with the major tremors. Having been on the treatment over 2 years now, I only have occasionally spasms now.
How is that going ?
@@chrisgomes2554 After being on the Ingrezza treatment for so long, the spasms are now fortunately a rarity. As for the litigation against my former psychiatrist, that's unfortunately been less productive.
Came here after Dr. Spiegel's testimony for Heard. Wow this explains alot
Have always had motor tics - started taking the lowest dose of Chlorpromazine in the evenings for adhd & asd and it's been amazing.
But 10 days in I started noticing tics that were so bad I couldn't speak properly - I kept pausing and twitching.
Will be using this compound as needed instead of daily, TD causes horrendous interference with my daily functions.
Sorry
There are a lot of medications that can contribute to TD; in my case, an antidepressant, a medication for fibromyalgia that I’ve been on for years, and even my cholesterol med was a potential contributor! Do your research, and talk to your doctor about medication replacements.
THIS IS THE SYMPTOMS OF HEALTH LEDGER'S JOKER.

I have constant gagging Dry heaving every minute for the past ten years. My Psychiatrist mentioned that I have Tardive dyskinesia. I have to eat candy all the time or drink water. I have been taking haldol since 1991 and then on Seroquel from 2002 until now.
What exactly is your question? Or are you just on here to share your personal life with a bunch of peeps that don’t even know you?
Hey, since i was little whenever i was happy or i was listening to some music when heart starts to go faster and my arms start moving on their own and the only way to make it stop it's contracting my right arm, but every time i do it, it hurts really bad and it stops me from moving my arm for like 5 seconds. I asked a few times to my mom what kind of problem i hve and if it can be cured but she always answer: "it's just something that you have" and that's it. I searched on internet and this is the closest thing that i found, even if it's not the same thing that i have. I just need answers, not knowing what i have it's bothering me almost every day and i wanna know if i can do something about it because my right arm really hurts. I apologize if i did any mistakes but i'm not a native speaker, i'm doing my best for improving. Of course if you would help it would really mean the world to me even if it's just an idea of what it could be.
Im sorry to hear this. Umm your condition sounds more like ‘tics’ to me. It is a condition characterised by stereotypical repetitive movements that can be suppressed voluntarily but only briefly.
@@Funfunfun1225 Thank you for responding, i appreciete that. I've been to the doctor and they said that i have hyperkinesia and includes tics. I'm doing neurological therapy and it's really helping me. Thank you for caring, i really appreciate that😁. I wish you the best and thank you again😁
I have severe muscle twitching/ spasms in my legs from antipsychotics. So bad to the point where I'm finding it hard to move around. I'm only 21 I was very healthy before! It's crazy how bad a medication deteriorated my health. Oh and the severe weight gain these pills cause. I went from 110lbs to 153lbs no change in diet so it isn't "over eating".
Risperidone?

Hi there! I'm not a health care provider at all however I am talking a pharmacology class right now. The way you're feeling is understandable, Id like to just pprovide you with some infromation I'm aware of in hopes of helping you. There are two main types of anti psychotics; conventional, and atypical. Conventional antipsychotic drugs cause extrapyrimal symptons which include: parkionsim, tardive dyskinesa, akathesia or acute dystonia. Where as atpyical anti pyschotic medications are known to greatly lower the chances of developing extrapyrimal symptoms however do have weight gain as a major side effect. I hope this provided some more information so you can continue your research.

i took wellbutrin, lexapro, and trazodone for about 8 months or so. highest therapeutic doses of all, all at the same time. it's been over a year since i stopped taking these medications but i feel like my symptoms may be TD? all of the videos i'm finding are about the face...i don't do anything with my face but often i scrunch my toes up real tight and also can't control my arms lifting up over my head unless i really concentrate....however i seem to have WAY more control than how this disorder is being described in patients. if i force myself i can stop but once my mind drifts i stretch my arms up real high and scrunch my toes real tight. maybe because i wasn't on the medication for THAT long it affected me just not as badly as people who have been on anti psychotics for years.....? i'm so confused :/
Sounds like restlessness. The toes and arms may just be a soothing mechanism. Were you taking medications to treat an anxiety related issue?
I have a similar issue with cheek and finger biting and tugging on my facial hair. Except I've been doing it since like 8. I've taken just about every antidepressant there is with little success. We're starting to believe it's anxiety related to a not-so-healthy early childhood environment.
Fun story, I met up with my mum and older siblings after 18 years and the first thing my Sister tells me after all this time was "I remember when you were only a few months old, I tried killing you a few times but mum would always catch me"
Like, cheers Sis. I really missed you.
@@alexyodson5749 i was taking the wellbutrin first, but it made me too wired but took the suicidal ideations away. they dropped the dosage down, thinking that was the case. ideations came back, so it was upped again and lexapro added for "balancing it out" which actually worked. it was the perfect combo for me. trazodone was added cuz the wellbutrin gave me insomnia. i only stopped taking them cuz i lost my insurance and had no choice. i'm super self conscious now i feel like my arms keep flailing about without my control. thank you so much for responding
@@alexyodson5749 also wow :/ all my love to you, that's absolutely TERRIBLE.
Hi, I was taking wellbutrin for a while but using it improperly (under and over dosing myself and taking it inconsistently when you’re specifically supposed to take it consistently). I did this due to adhd and I thought it was a good method for me. I now think I am experiencing symptoms of tardive and that really freaks me out and I don’t know what I should do because the wellbutrin really DOES help my mental health, I’m so much more depressed without it and if I had to stop taking it forever that would be heartbreaking :/ I’ve started taking it more regularly now that I’ve learned my lesson about proper use but still have tardive symptoms :( my friends say I should stop fully, but I want to be able to get back on it in the near future since it helps my depression SO much. What should I do? And if I stop fully will I be able to get back on it in the future without “reigniting” the tardive?
if you stop now you can reverse td
What about meds like effector? I've noticed I have a few of these symptoms. I thought it might be Tourette. How can you tell which it is?
You mean effexor, right? That drug gave me Akathisia and other symptoms and ruined my life
@@JohnRambo1947-July-6th please go for benzhexol tablet
Effexor XR caused uncontrollable muscle twitches in me, around two weeks after I started taking it. I'm now on other meds but the twitches have only gotten worse. I need medication though. But my mom has ALS, just found out last week, so I'm trying to get an idea of what my twitches actually are. I don't have anything with my face or mouth though. It's often very large muscle jerks. Sometimes my torso even folds in on itself briefly as if I'm doing a sit up.
Shit you guys I have slight version of this at times when I’m stressed. I hate these meds
Is it possible to confuse some symptoms with restless leg syndrome? I had a sleep doctor tell me I had rls, but I recently saw something about TD and I’m wondering if I have that. When I was on Prozac my fingers would freeze and I’d drop silverware while I was eating. I blink excessively sometimes and my arms are always doing something weird. Some kind of twitching. I also used to take Wellbutrin and Zoloft.
RLS and TD are both caused by the same root problem - the blocking of the Dopamine D2 receptor in the brain. Antipsychotics and other medications block the D2 receptor and the result is movement disorders like these. Even common OTC drugs like Phenergan (an anti-histamine) block the D2 receptor and can easily cause these problems. Taking 2x Phenergan (also known as promethazine) anti-histamine tablets is virtually guaranteed to give you a bout of RLS or Akathesia.
Sammeee I took zoloft and I twitch or can't move my hand it feels horrible.
It could be drug induced Parkinsonism

I clench my jaw, fidget, hold my breath, tap my foot, and jump sometimes do I have TD?
Isabella you are talking about tics disorder in which there occurs sudden repetitive contraction of group of muscles
Got forced antipsychotics cus two psychaitrist lied they better hope i aint grt diabetes tardive dyskinesia or anything else
developing this as we stand. tried ingrezza made me to drowsy... no physical harm though just looks really stupid.
Latuda and seroquel
I have that I guess and yes I've taken myself off medication for over 6 years and I'm glad I did because these doctors they say side effects like it's some kind of magic word and then there's the pharmaceutical kickbacks to the doctors I feel that the doctors are like the scene in The wizard of Oz when she brings the broom to the wizard and expects him to fulfill his part of the deal LOL
I have practically identical symptoms, but I haven't taken medication for a mental illness. Is it possible that I have this condition regardless?
You might have a tremor or some other kind of movement dysfunction (ballismus, athetosis, etc). It's impossible for anyone to tell online so you're best to get it checked by your GP.
Joseph S very helpful, thank you!
I think but don’t quote me that TD is a drug induced tremor. If you don’t take psych meds on a prolonged basis then your tremor is not a drug induced one. There are many other tremor types. At resting or when you try to move.
Other meds can cause it. Yesterday I found out my cholesterol medication - and three others - were on that liat, so had to call my doctor today for something else.
I had TD for about three years but wasn't noticing any symptoms due to its lack of visibility until I went off my medication and it became worse. TD in my case is not severe but bad enough that it can cause pain in my jaw. If anyone wants to talk to their doctor about treatment a little trick that helps me get through the day is having a bit of caffeine. It's very effective but again, check with your doctor if it's okay because caffeine can interfere with many different meds. Stay safe.
I’m 13 and I’ve been experiencing things similar to this but I haven’t been taking much medication for anything
Hey man, i have this kind of problem too. Tuesday i went to the neurologist and he told me that it was hyperkinesis. The only advice that i can tell you is to go to a neurologist and talk to them about it, and they can help you control the movements with therapy (that's what they told me). I know what it feels like to have a problem and not knowing what it is, i was in your same situation i knew that i have something but i didn't know what it was.
Giving a name to your problem, in my opinion, is really important.
Anyway a wish you the best.
How are you now?

So is this or is this not related to autism? Why are they grouping neurological disorders with psychosis? This is stupid.
this has nothing to do with autism, why do you assume that
@@nonexistent4935 I asked if this is or is not related to autism, many people with autism engage in stimming, hans flapping, excessive blinking, tapping, drumming etc...all self regulatory and stimulating behaviors in autism. It is a neurological disorder. There you asked
🙃
@Mr. California They're not their
S M and my answer is still the same. this has nothing to do with autism. this is caused by prolonged intake of antipsychotics, i cannot explain you the exact biological/chemical process but it has to do with nerves firing too many signals, people with autism stim, flap etc because they WANT to, it calms them down to prevent a meltdown/shutdown from too many stressors
S M and they were not even grouping it with neurological disorders, and even if they did, psychosis can very well be neurological if you have a combination of certain gen defects that change your brains neurotransmitters, a psychosis is just a symptom of a bigger disorder(schizo, epilepsy, alzheimer, even metabolism disorders)
