Hey i have an xbox series x and i want to get a dac/amp so i can enhance the sound of my headset Do i use this to plug my headset into dac/amp and dac/amp goes plugged into this device and then from the device i run a usb cable into my xbox?
Sadly, no it won't work for me. I would like all analog channels of 5.1 uncompressed. I have a gig pa system for amps and speakers so don't need a receiver. It seems that there aren't any products that do what I want...
Hello Steve, I bought this product to connect the PS5 to my amplifier, I have a Harman Kardon AVR110, I do get sound but I'm unable to get 5.1, can I get any help?
Thanks, I just googled HDMI extractor, you were the first video and its refreshing to see a practical explanation of a product without all the fluff of filling up videos with nonsense. Good work and I'll check out a few more videos.
0:08 The problem you are describing is exactly what im going through right now. You did a very good job at explaining everything i need to know about getting audio from my ps5 while using a monitor with no sound input. Very simple and easy to follow 👍🏼. I just bought the same extractor at the beginning of the video Thank you for the helpful explanation video.
I know this video is 3 years old, but thank you soo much. I dont know why Sony got rid of the optical port and just gave us a single hdmi port, too. This device came in clutch. Thanks again, sir 🫡.
I stumbled upon this video randomly while googling for an audio extractor with multiple inputs and I struck gold. Because the reason I was looking for one is that I want to connect multiple consoles to a monitor and I had no clue if connecting them to a HDMI switch first and then the switch to the extractor would still work. But it looks like it does, which not only answers my question but also saves me time looking for a probably pricier alternative. Cheers.
Just got one of these babies for my PS5 to hook up to my receiver to play Call if Duty MW2. Works like a charm! This video easily explained how to hook it up and I had no problems. Now I almost feel every explosion, and bullet whizzing past my ear thanks to this hook up. Thanks Tech Steve! Ps. Ordered this directly from ORei, and had it in like 2 days. So happy!
Absolutely brilliant video. Thank you for skipping all of the pointless tech jargon some people go on about and demonstrating simply how to do it step by step. You are a life saver. Thank you! Great video.
Thanks for the video Steve, this probably would work great for projectors that don't have ARC or optical port for audio, my friend has that problem and is only using a small soundbar with the 3.5mm jack on a 150" screen, movies look amazing but there is no immersion when it comes to sound, we will get this device. Thank you.
Was goin' through theory trying to figure out how it was all going to come together for my setup, and this video was perfectly what I needed. I really appreciated the live test as well so I could verify there's no delay. Dope ass video!
You saved me man ! I bought a projector and a screen without thinking that the projector would only pick up stereo from any hdmi input while only stereo jack output is available :'( ... I was looking at 1K€ setups to solve that problem :D this is exactly what I was looking for... THANKS SO MUCH !
Thank you so much bro this helped me I was looking for a good device to help get sound out my speakers without connecting it to my controller!! Thank you so much
Thanks for this. I didn't realise until watching your video that I have my gear hooked up wrong, with loads of optical cables trailing all over the place when I really only needed the one as you demonstrated here. I already had 4k switcher, and have now just ordered myself the Oriel Optical Adapter. It will be nice having all my consoles going through just the one optical cable. My PS5 arrives today so I found your video just in time, as I didn't realise it had no optical port. Thanks again for a no nonsense, straight to the point video!
I’m kinda looking for something similar. I want an all in one box that has HDMI splitters so I can’t hook up my Bose TV Speaker to my TV’s eARC port for volume control. It can be a bit confusing though
Thanks, Steve. i was so confused about connecting my PS5. your video helped me to understand. I connected my PS5 with Sony E4100. It is really working great.
Thank you for making this video! I’m glad I found this video. I recently got a LG monitor. I was a bit disappointed about the no built in speakers. My monitor does have a headphone out. I got some speakers but I kinda don’t want to rely on that connection. I had to put audio at loudest just to hear the speakers. Your steps are very simple and easy to follow. I can’t wait to receive my hdmi extractor to set it up the way you shown in the video.
@obliviousmode Hello I just wanted to know if it worked for you and if the audio quality was good, because I think I’m in the same boat as you. I have an LG monitor too it’s the ultra gaming one.
@@triscuit6449 I sounds okay. I do notice that not all sounds are maybe properly being output. I have a PS3 hooked up to it. The PS3 has a distinctive sound when navigating the menu screens. It sounds muffled at times. I have another PS3 on a regular tv with hdmi output. You can clearly hear the distinctive sounds on a tv with speakers built in.
Did this work for you? Are you still able to get 4k and HDR? I have LG ULTRA GEAR, and using this, I no longer get HDR or 4k. My ps5 can't recognize my monitor anymore..
unpacked mine this morning and this thing is TINY - even your vid somehow let me believe it was a little larger. It's passing video from my Shield TV through to my monitor, but I cant get sound working regardless of the switch setting. I'm going to move everything else off my desk and try again this afternoon - as it stands, the poster who said 'more cables, more problems' is striking a chord with me.

Analogue is 2.0 stereo. Fibre optics is uncompressed stereo but only compressed 5.1 surround. We need 6 and 8 channel Toslink and Coaxial to DSP active speakers. Also the software to control output levels to each speaker.
Excellent video! I will use the last setup soon for N Switch and TV media box, and Miracast unit, because my f*cking TV doesn't have an optical out towards the soundbar. The previous TV had one and we got used to the rich sound of the bar instead of the flat one of the TV. The HDMI selector is already in use.
