Just came back from the TT on my 9GT, absolutely love it.
Just back today from a 3800km 13 day trip Pyrenees, Seville, Portugal and picos on a 9gt a fab bike . Thanks for the video
I hired a Tracer 900 for a few days in the Algarve a number of years back - it was quick, dangerously so!
Hi Richy, pretty new to your videos, first heard about you on Teapotone’s podcast, then watched your Morocco videos - really enjoyed those btw 👍. Looks like we live in the same area, I grew up in the Hope valley and now live in chesterfield. I have a Tracer 9 GT, awesome bike! Hopefully bump into you sometime 👍, cheers Sam.
Good to see you having some fun riding the Tracer 900GT+ , it is a good looking machine with some impressive tech( most of which I probably wouldn't use) however I do wish Yamaha would be more adventurous with the colours , gunmetal grey is just boring in the extreme.
Switch the rain mode off; you're getting soaked! Quick, engage sun mode!
I've watched about a dozen reviews on this bike. Yours has concentrated on riding it and so I found it the best. All the others concentrated on the tech above actually what an experience it is to ride. Nice to know I can take a slow bend in top and zoom out of it! Thanks.
You just did somethinf thst is a dream of mine, which is getting of the saddle and take picture with a good DSLR camera. Kudos! And ride safe... Ish 😊
Not a fan of the tech at all. Rode a lot of modern new bikes with various systems and left me feeling cold and detached from the riding experience. I think manufacturers are really missing a trick by not offering old style bikes with analogue dials and just ABS (as it's a legal requirement) would be a ot cheaper also for people to buy. These modern bikes have become way to expensive also and not obtainable for most folk.
I agree about bikes becoming ridiculously expensive. 😵💫
A nice short and sharp review of what looks like a good bike Rich. Very slick clothes change in the video too!! Thank you
Looks like a great bit of kit and not a bad price tag for what you get , great review mate
Just done a 4000 mile trip on mine, love it apart from the seat which gets very hard after a few days riding.
Got mine 6 weeks ago and and absolutely love it!!
Love my 900 gt. With an exhaust it's frugal on fuel - I average 60mpg. Can get 70 sitting on motorway. funnily the stock GT is more insurance than the GT+
That’s bizarre? Wonder why? 🤷
Amazing quick to the point video!
Getting one tmw!! Trading in my 9gt
This is the bike I've been looking at to add to my collection.
Always emjoy the vids mate... ❤❤❤
Brilliant video as always butty, what a lovely looking bike 😎😎👍
Wish they made the MT10,like this, sports tourer, fairing,no wide panniers, hooligan, get it on
Tried it and liked it apart from the looks and the hard seat, bought a Multi V2S, never regretted it and getting the V4 next time, maybe😉
The multistrada has radar cruise control also. It's really good for motorways and dual carriageways, and has radar at reat so has blind spot detection
Yes, I loved that when I had the Multi 👍
Always liked the look of the bike but not the two TFT version that single screen is much better. I have the BMW Active Cruise Control and besides the usual thing with the car in front of you lean into a corner the cruise slows you down then speeds up again as you straighten up.
It’s a shame you have the bike for a short period, it would have been interesting for more of your thoughts on this bike.still a good video as Always.👍Manxman 🇮🇲
like that Rich... nice vlog
Got my GT plus in October. It’s currently sitting in my garage collecting dust with only 450 miles on the clock. Only parked up whilst I rebuild the strength in my leg that I managed to break. As soon as I’m fit enough I will be out. It’s killing me seeing it just sitting there.
The best tft I've ever seen/used was on the Yamaha TmaxTechmax , I know a Scooter , The tft though was fantastic.
It's the same screen on both
Nice bike, shame about the weather.
Any tours planned for the VFR rich, Missing the classic VFR tour videos.
The auto braking would make me nervous on compromised road conditions. Gravel, dirt, wet, etc. What do you think?
No, like I mentioned, I didn’t feel any intervention at all.
All that positive talk about wearing summer gear.... Rain, Get soaked. 😂😁
Haha typical!
Seriously that engine is pure evil! I fell under it's spell with my XSR. Too much fun for my own good.
Had mine a month ,2000 miles already , can't stay off it !!! not perfect, with all the tech no hill hold and seat is angled forward pushing your bits against the tank.. Got the seat flattened out and a Gel pad by Di at Chaos Customs in Swansea 500 miles in 2 days perfect now!!!65 MPG average so far but gauge is rubbish, shows full for about 125 miles then goes to half the reserve at 150 miles but when you fill it up it only takes 14 ltrs which means theres a gallon left!!!! but I forgive it that🥰
Did you notice the down shift blipper works on full throttle apparently
Cant say I did
Well, a fuel consumption of 5.0 L/100km isn't bad?!
How does it compare to the Suzuki GSXs1000GT that you really liked ?
Loads more tech, but with equally brilliant engines, both very good!
That cruise control with front vehicle relativity is ok until you're locked on to a knob driver.
Or the driver in front ploughs into the driver in front of him
But you can obviously disconnect just as you do any cruise control by rolling forward in the throttle 👍
@@RichyVida
Sometimes it's too late.
I drive semis with them.
It locks you into moron in front mode and find their up and down speed to be annoying as hell.
What would you get, this or the gsx1000gx
Not had the GX, yet. I’m sure that will also be a great bike.
How does the hi tech braking system know the road conditions ? Would it apply or override what you were doing on ice or slippery surface ?
I don’t think it would do anything other than help when needed.
If you done no off-road riding would you swap Africa twin for it
Didn’t spend enough time on it to make a decision like that. Great bike, though!
The CP3 Engine is a great engine and 19 liters still get some great miles out of that as mt09sp has 14 liters and i stretched that out over 220+ miles with 1.2 liter still in the tank just a shame they didnt do a off road version i would of stayed with Yamaha maybe
Title say 2024, plate says ‘23.. 😉 How’s the weather protection compared to other bikes you’ve tried/got?
Assuming they registered a press bike before March
@@5tevieb954 if anything that should’ve given a ‘73 plate then, if it was to be a real 2024 model, surely?
@@TheMickeyDK see what you mean. Find it hard to believe it’s not a real 24 MY bike.
For such an accomplished machine, the designers painted it with the ugly stick!
Why I tried it but bought the Multi V2S, never regretted it…better built and just as quick.
I've got the T9GT. Great engine, the sound is very addictive, good handling, very poor windscreen. Very poor finish, thin paint on the wheels in particular. After one winter (regular washing and ACF50) parts of the frame were going rusty, the shock was a mess and anodised parts showed corrosion. I probably won't buy another Yamaha but even if I was going to I would buy the GT over the GT+, way overpriced.
windscreen bad but a puig and an extender and it is great. Mine has 25k miles and 6yrs old, only rust is the brake disc bobbins. Too much salt where you are?
@dreamcrusher112 I use an MRA spoiler on my screen. At least there's no buffeting now. Salt on the roads in winter but my five year old Street Triple still looked like new.
Hooligan!
Not sure why you would ever trust a petrol gauge on any motorcycle after that time you ran out of petrol in France ! I’ve never had a petrol gauge on a motorcycle and I’ve never run of gas. I have though run out of petrol in a car ! 🇬🇧
10:24 are you wearing the airbag jacket all the time now?
No. Just depends which jacket I decide to wear
@@RichyVida I’ve been thinking about an airbag jacket - but can’t decide on what to do.
Amazing tech, for sure. I think if I wore this jacket as a main, I would start to feel uneasy about it not being there. Great for added Pom 👍
First 👍
