    You have to use ratchet straps to secure them? I don't guess I've ever heard of that before..

      I haven’t either but it makes a lot of sense depending on what you’re trying to load

      When you're loading quads or motor bikes, if you're on the ramp and hit the throttle, the rear wheel can kick the ramp backwards as the bike moves forward and the whole contraption with you on your bike will be eating pavement. I've been loading bikes without the straps all my life, but I would take a run at the ramp, never hitting the throttle on the way up. Cheers.
