Your a life saver brother! Grabbed a set of the clamps from Canadian Tire for $26. The 2x8s unfortunately were $23 a board. Used them to put a big snowblower into my Silverado. Still cheaper than buying $200 ramps. Great video!
For years I've loaded and unloaded my mower to take it over to mow my rental property. It's fairly heavy so I usually let it drop, rather heavily, for 6" or so. That was doing it no good, so I wanted a simple and cheap ramp to load and unload the mower into the side door of my van. My solution is even easier than the one in the video. I just lay two, eight foot 2x4s to the side van door to use as a ramp. I cut two pieces of 2x4 the width needed so that the mower wheels will stay on the ramp boards. So, I lay the 2x4s out, and use the two short pieces to set the spacing between the two ramp boards, one at the top in the van and the other on the ground. I can then walk between the two pieces of the ramp while I'm pushing the mower up the ramp, or running it down the ramp to the ground. If needed or desired, you can rig up some additional pieces to match the height you need for your vehicle and put those underneath the ramp boards to raise them higher. Your could use 2x6 or 2x8 boards if you wanted more width and strength, or longer boards for a longer and shallower ramp. I find that being able to walk between the two ramp board makes it easy to load or unload the mower, and to keep an eye on the mower wheels so they don't run off the boards/ramp.
Hello Russell, my name is Russell LOL. I've done this before years back. But I have a Toyota Tacoma, and the boards kept sticking out. A good idea that I have not done yet, is that you take your boards and cut them in half with a good strong hinge and you can fold in half to put them in the bed of the truck providing you have a small truck. I also have a small Honda lawn mower like that. Yes it tears your backup but it's a good idea. I need to make another set, cuz I am tired of pulling my trailer around just to cut my daughter's yard.
Those honda mowers aren't light. Kinda hurt my back last week gettin mine in and out. Going to be building me those ramps this week. If my back goes out,I'm losing money. Thanks for the video and the idea in general.
I did the same thing last year, but I couldn't get the top of the carriage bolt to bite into the wood, so I couldn't get the nuts tight, which left the ramp brackets extremely loose. I tried to bang the top of the bolts into the wood with a hammer, but they just wouldn't bite!
People have no idea how much ramps help. When you have 20 lawns a day to do, lifting the mower in and out of the bed really takes its toll on your body
How wide is the board and ramp end? Not the length, the width. Because people keep saying they get a 2x6x8 board but I can’t find a single ramp end online that is 6 in wide, only 8 in or more. Am I missing something here?
Great video

same reason why im trying to make a ramp thank you sir!
I usually just fold the handle down and pick up the mower but this will be handy for the new ride on
I love this. I need to get these because I keep my electric scooter at the house and I live 3 step to porch house.
Planning on doing this, but also 2 extra 2x4s with an angled and to act as braces/support to load a riding mower
Thanks Russell - awesome and easy tricks! It’s inspired me! Cheers!!👌👌👌
Awesome!
Thanks! Great video!
this is being smart. money very well invested.
Thanks for the vid man!

I use 2 jack stands under my boards for flex, 2 eye bolts for ratchet straps to bumper
Great video!

Yes it does.
What if I cut the boards to 5 ft to be able to fit in the bed just right
Hmm when im to tired to lift i just use one board and drag it on the deck.
Nice vid. Just one question where do you put all the clippings and debris?
Its a mulching mower.
OK, but where do I get those brackets?
in canada it will cost more than $100.00 to make this 😂
Excellent, could you tell me the Brand of the Bracket you installed and where to buy it? Thanks.
Dont remember but Home Depot has them.
What type of clamps are they brother

No it only comes in 2x8 for strength
Just bought 2 2x8x8's at home depot $39.
good job, next time dont steal, get a C-clamp and drill thru the bracket holes, im doing 2x10 my self
What are those brackets called?
They are ramp ends. amzn.to/2HO8bvM
Can it run up a 280lb generator? 👀
How long and what size were your wood boards?
8x10 boards
My bed is only 6 foot
So anything longer won’t work out
if you have roto-stop, maybe you could even drive and not push :)))))
It's 2021. We now have Covid-19 wood prices.
Hate the 20.97 price for one!
PS,round them corners
Yeah bro no thanks
"made in America because it's half inch" lol it's probably made and China and it's a 13mm
hahahaha
You must have been drunk when you were drilling those holes that's why it didn't match up
Not possible I don’t drink.
