  • The crochet v-neck shirt pattern I'm using in this video is free here: christacodesig...
    In this video watch how to work up the v-neck section of a front panel for a crochet top. Using simple crochet decreases, the sc2tog method, we're able to create a v shape for the neck hole on a crochet shirt.
    First you will work halfway across your front panel. Then you will add decreases at the center only. To create a deep v, decrease at the center on every row. To crochet a shallower v-neck, alternate decrease rows with regular rows (with no decreases at the center).
    Both of these methods will create a diagonal line from the center out. Once you have decreased enough, just continue regular rows for the length of your shoulder.

    WOW! What a great video tutorial on neck shaping. I finished a cotton Granny Square sweater and struggled to figure out a decent neckline because the body was SQUARE with zero neck shaping. I am going to use your instructions to add a 'yoke. Thank you!

    Thanks for teaching us how to do a v neck because most sweaters are boat neck and I don't like the boat next. So thank you.

    What if you want more of a circle neck line? Would you do the middle stitches farther apart?

    • @ChristaCoDesign
      @ChristaCoDesign  4 года назад +1

      You could do them farther apart and maybe don’t make the shoulder so deep. Do fewer decreases, so it’s a gentler slope.

      Hi Robin,
      This video is a support for the written crochet pattern found here christacodesign.com/2018/10/31/short-sleeve-v-neck-free-crochet-pattern/
      Essentially you work halfway across the row, alternating flo sc and blo sc. This video is also part of a playlist that includes videos demonstrating the different techniques used in the pattern above.
      Here is the playlist, some of these may also be helpful:
