Pumpkinhead is a classic imo
I love your videos, man keep going
While the original is objectively the better film, I actually prefer the 1994 sequel "Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings" because it features much more creature action as a whole.
I picked up the Best Buy Steelbook yesterday and watched it!
Never seen Pumpkinhead even though I’ve been told to for years. Thanks to your channel I heard about the new upcoming 4K release. I decided to pick it to be my horror film to buy for Spooktober’23! I’m a bit disappointed to hear your review on parts of the 4K quality of release. I have store credit at my local Vinegar Syndrome store so I’m going to give it a go. 🤞
I picked up the steelbook. Very cool!
Great movie!
I remember Pumpkinhead being covered in horror magazines of the day and talking about it's alternate title Vengeance:The Demon. And that monster looked way cool but when I got the VHS...what a letdown! The movie is well made but darn there's almost no blood no ripped off arms or heads nothing! Oh well at least Winston can make a good movie. Good review and cool video Ken!👉😃👈
Yep, I remember renting the VHS and was so disappointed because the cover was way cooler than the movie itself. Kind of reminds me of the old Atari 2600 game boxes which had a lot of graphics and art but the game was not fun.
@@devonbrooks246 👍
@@nah....6151 of course Lance is great as always!☝
I saw this steelbook yesterday.
I didn’t get it, I may when it’s on sale
It’s a BB exclusive and it’s already sold out online. I believe the stores should still have some copies left.
Just saw pumpkinhead other day very good
I agree it’s not a great movie but it’s good. I’d give it a 3/5
I'd love to have Pumpkin Head on 4k Ken such a great Underrated movie. RIP Stan Winston a legendary special effects master👍👍🆒🆒😈😈
Ken, Did you notice the child actress from blossom in pumkinhead in her 1st movie cameo? If you blink you'll miss her.
I love this movie. The concept, the location of the story, and the acting all add up to a entertaining movie
Underated horror movie imo
I think the story is better than you give it credit for as it’s a moving story about a man who seeks vengeance for the death of his son. It looks at how vengeance doesn’t brink closer but pain
This is a great movie about revenge, be careful what you wish for! Lots of fun!!!!!
Scream factory knows we like the reversible cover art. I think they're going to continue to do the alternative slipcovers so we pay more money to have 2 different artworks.
Yeah, its not a true classic, but a cool flick nearing the tail-end of an era.
This is one of my all time favorite scary movies. I love everything about it. I don't agree with your review of the story, but I do respect your opinion. Its a story about a fathers love, and the overwhelming pain he feels at the loss of his child. How in his pain he made a horrible decision and now he is trying everything he can to undue what he has set in motion. Vengeance only brings more pain and suffering. Ed Harley learned that the hard way. I'm a father who had to lay to rest my 11 year old daughter. I know the pain of losing a child, so I was able to understand and feel that pain Ed Harley felt as he held his son in his arms. My apologies for turning a movie review into something serious. I just wanted to give my perspective as a father who like Ed lost a child. I was able to relate to his story and in my own way understand the pain of his character. It made this movie mean so much more to me.
Very sorry for your loss.
@@midlevelmedia Thank you
I agree with you Ken, its an ok movie
It is the original vhs art.
I agree with your analysis of this movie. I saw this for the first time a few years ago and have never been eagar to revisit it since the characters are flat. Pumpkinhead is cool but just did not enjoy other elements. Thanks for the review.
The storyline is very much a sign of the time in which it was made, and as someone who was in their early 20s when it came out, it still stands out to me. Yeah, there's some worn out, 70s 80s "young people causing problems" cliches being used, but it still works for me.
Always loved this, and I probably got more excited than I should when I saw they used the old vhs artwork. I wish there were more Appalachian folklore type horror movies.
First time watch. I enjoyed it. The 4k looked amazing. SF is on a roll with their releases
Significant upgrade over the blu. Steelbook is 🔥
I am glad Scream Factory Made a 4K a Pumpkinhead.
Thanks! I still need to grab this one

Seen on vhs in 88. My friend would only rent new movies. I was in middle skool. Blossom in this and I’m from Appalachia unfortunately not filmed here
It’s the Godzilla dilemma, where the audience could care less about some dysfunctional humans, but Fantastic Creatures unfortunately cost more than boring human actors🫵 Imagine seeing a movie like this , where it’s 75/25 or more of PUMPKINHEAD, just fulfilling someone’s Christmas list😂
I remember reading about this movie in Fangoria back in the day and wanting to see it in the theater, but it wasn't playing where I lived. I rented it and liked it a lot. I had the VHS and than upgraded to DVD. I'm sure I'll be upgrading again.
