Wow!!! I love it and you both made Mom happy !!! It’s a large deck so maybe you can add beautiful patio furniture all together for all to gather or create smaller more intimate seating areas for your guests . The addition of plants and/or trees in planter boxes along with the perfect lighting would be the icing on the cake! Excellent job DIY Power Couple!!❤❤

Beautiful job ! Perhaps a couple of hand operated awnings to provide some shade to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee or a cool drink , and and an area to have a meal ? Really a great job, enjoy your back yard !❤

The part I always hate is the power washing. You are just soaked when you are done and covered in debris. Thank goodness that high quality battery operated power washers are coming to the forefront because the gas models are a nightmare.
And yes, nail pops. I really cannot understand (well, I can) why screws aren't mandatory. Nails will split the wood, pop up and create a tripping hazard - but they are quick to apply.

Yes, those bricks! I hate fungus and often use a disinfectant! Good job on your precleaning, as it is often omitted, but it helps with preventing more deterioration of the wood. By the way, did you spray the wood for termites and other bugs? If not, spraying under the area helps to prevent them from eating and growing. 🤓
OK, so..the answer is, no. We were getting things done on a time limit.
