Thanks Rose_Buses! I like the southern network and I don't think it gets enough appreciation. Freight is pretty rare here so it wasn't at all surprising that I didn't see any! 😃
Norwood Junction railway station is a National Rail station in South Norwood in the London Borough of Croydon, south London and is in Travelcard Zone 4.[5] It is 8 miles 55 chains (13.98 km) down the line from London Bridge. The station is managed by London Overground and trains are operated by London Overground, Thameslink and Southern.
I am very impressed by the lenght of Thameslink trains: Class 70xxx has got mpre often than not 12 coaches, it is quite unusiual in the Continent, where trains are generally shorter
I got a tad bit of bothering by the staff whilst here so I would go armed with Arriva Rail London website since the staff always ask what your doing www.arrivaraillondon.co.uk/news/filming-on-the-london-overground The last paragraph is like gold dust 😃
there usually isn’t space at the platforms for another service to terminate at dorking. there are currently only 1 train a day in each direction that actually do this.
Does Thameslink sometimes stop at Norwood Junction. Or is it mainly Southern and London Overground trains that stop at Norwood Junction. With Thameslink trains passing through. And I do think that Southern should keep the Class 171 Turbostars but to replace the Class 455 used on the suburban services and the Class 313 used on the East Coastway Line and West Coastway Line services.
Class 171s are Diesel and 313s and 455s are electric... Southern will more likely order a new rolling stock (most likely Desiro City or Aventra trains) to replace Class 313s and 455s
Just getting round to watching this after a busy couple of days at work. Great viewing as always. Did you find this one of the nicer places to train spot?
No problem at all Flynn. Many thanks for spending some your busy day watching my video 😃. I'll answer that question in two parts; Firstly, it was a gloriously warm day and I was surrounded by trains (whats not to love!). Secondly; the staff bothered my twice during my visit which isn't a problem (I get it a lot) but I've had a much better experience at more rural stations where I can relax. Overall, I would agree with you, I think it is one of the more nicer places I've been. Thanks 😊

Great video Starlife! Love it as always 👌😎. Are that trains electric? Because I don't see any pantograph on the trains or any cabling sustained by any "arm".... I am confused 😑
Thanks Joel. Fear not, I will provide you with some intel! Most of the south east of England has '3rd rail' powered trains which literally means a third rail adjacent to the running rail powers trains with 750V DC. So you were right, they are still electric! The 700s (and some 378s) are dual powered but thats not very useful without overhead wires 😃
I like a good southern the odd time, there very luxurious inside.Good video at Norwood junction 👍👍
These new ones are nothing compared to the old 4CIGs Viaduction 😃
Very True Starlife 😉
Great railway video as always, nice range of trains coming in through Norwood.
Another great video! A nice range of trains at Norwood junction :) lots of different southern trains as well express or local

I live just north of Norwood Junction near Goat House Bridge, so ideal for train spotters.
I live half a mile from this train station
Sometimes Gatwick express
Class 700 passing the station is so satisfying
Clickety Clack 😃
Great video mate. So many busy locations in South London and this is one 👍🏻

Very good one this! I'm liking that it is random every time. By that I mean its not on the same line twice (Mostly).
This is what I aim for, if all I put up was West Coast videos, no-one would be interested! Thanks FusionZenFlame 😃
Southern Electrics and Diesels never dissapoints! Southern trains never get old!

I hope it lived up to your expectations drw0925! 😃

Good video, I haven’t been on this line before, the only train in this entire video I’ve been in is the 700.

Thanks! 😀
Those 700s are so long, probably the longest metal centipedes in the UK.
Well, apart from the 373 and 374 Eurostar classes...
At 8:22 why is there a 377/5 in the sidings?
The last time I saw one was at Selhurst train wash.
I don’t understand why they only operate London Bridge to Epsom I don’t get why they can’t continue on to Dorking or Horsham

How was there a class 377 5 car
Both the 377/6 and 377/7 variant are 5 car trains.
I think the best train that goes via there has to be either the 171 or 378
