1984 World Offshore Champion.
The most significant off-shore racing boat in history. Bow to stern restoration lasted from late 2007 to early 2009. Everything was gone through by the original artist (Gail Paik) and crew chief (Tom Evans). Original Keith Eckert 1000hp engines with less than 15 hours since rebuild.

Winning the 1984 World Championship in offshore class 1 was Alberto Petri in the boat Miura, race event held in Viareggio, Italy. The race Apache Saccenti won was a World Cup race at Key West.
Bob is one of the all time gentlemen of the offshore world. While millionaires would buy his big boats and rub elbows with the elite class, he gave as much time, effort and history, helping me buy a used 21 Apache. A truly cool dude.

In my younger years I knew Bobby. I sold him batteries for the boats at Apache in the early 80's. He had worked with my dad years & years ago. My father was putting the transom step on 29' open fishing boats in the late 70's before it became popular on the racing boats.

Ben Kramer was a big reason for their success.He is a free man now and i hope he is healthy and fit. Knew him a bit at F C I Miami in 78. A Jewish gonnif with balls the size of coconuts. Went to prison for pot. Now you can go into a shop and buy what you want. Peace Ben

Let's be real, he was a Smuggler on a huge scale! It's not like he went to prison for a small stash. He also caught a new charge for murder, and another new charge for attempted escape. Good to know that he's a free man and he definitely made history in the go-fast boat industry. It's also good to know that Apache still survives today!
