It's not just Barely Alive, all the bands like Skrillex, Zomboy, Knife Party, all of them are just going into the new genre of music that I don't know what it is, but it's defiantly not dubstep.
Guess I just gotta stick with bands like Teminite, Wubbaduck, or Terravita for now =/

***** Well I do and most of my friends as well, but of course there are those gems which you always listen from the first second until the last. Also there is that 1% of songs in which the intro is the better than everything else of it. For example: Doctor P & Dillon Francis - Music Is Dead, and the whole "Neo Tokyo" EP from Must Die! because the drops of that EP are simply so boring and repetitive strident sounds with almost no awesome bass to compensate.
If you skip the intro you won't enjoy the drop as much, there is a purpose of it, it builds tension, it's like charging a battery before you take your car for a spin, otherwise we'd all just be producing music without any sort of progression or organisation, sorry to you happy hardcore fans.
NoA Indie c: Well of course it does, but after you hear it more than 5 times it doesn't have this effect any longer or it least not as intense. Also it's becomes repetitive and rather boring if it's just a generic rise of volume, frequency with no diversity or "something that surprises you without seeming out of place" if you know what I mean.
Wolfgang Fabits If there is nothing keeping you interested during the intro it's probably poorly made, but I can understand if you've heard the same song a lot. ***** That's just retarded mate, if you have time to consciously listen to 40 new songs a day which is only an hour and 10 minutes at full length, then you have time to appreciate the whole track, it's a journey you must take my friend, delayed gratification makes it sound even sweeter (y)
