Very well described about the mechanism of our brain regarding the release of Serotonin. Such a complicated topic has been explained by you in a simplified manner. Thus, the key factor is the creation of a suitable & friendly atmosphere to facilitate an easy & quick transportation to the tryptophan at the entry gate of the brain ie Blood Brain Barrier (BBB) to trigger the Serotonin. I think the attaining of this trigger for the transportation of tryptophan may also differ from person to person. So , we should also try to achieve this tryptophan-friendly atmosphere by exploring inside ourselves such as our hobbies, liking etc other than eating sweets also , which is usually most effective & so the same is being used since centuries in hindu rituals.

My perception is if one takes lot of sweet it may add to lesser transport of triptogen because insulin will be consumed in neutralizing glucose and will not be available for transportation of said component. So a little bit sweet is good to feel happy. Consuming in excess will increase anxiety. So persons with case of anxiety shoud avoid consuming sweet in excess.

My perception is that, Insulin is not the transporter,so eating excessive sweet will not reduce the transporter to carry the triptophane .
