As I often say, this is one of my favorite Nightwish songs. Thank you for working your way through these concerts. In addition to Wacken 2013, Wembley 2015 was another exceptional show, as was Tampere 2015, Masters of Rock 2015, Mexico City 2015, the Baltic Princess 2015 Nightwish Cruise, Buenos Aires 2018, Hellfest 2022, and Deichbrand 2022. My wife, Carol, and I travelled from Phoenix to see them live at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco on May 18, 2022. Fabulous performance. Keep these reactions coming.
For me the greatness of Nightwish is how able they are to make complexity look so freaakin easy. And of course they are absolutely amazing skillfull. Loved your reaction
I'm utterly delighted that you are back with Nightwish, makes my day to share the joy of listening the music and get your insights of it - a moment of finest enjoyment!
If you think that was great, wait until you see the Tampere version! The Tampere version of Weak Fantasy is easily in my top 10 all-time favorite Nightwish performances. 🤘🤟
This was one actually written for Floor. Marko and Tuomas composed this one. A very unique style of painting an emotionally powerful soundscape. Love the t-shirt Jeff!
Excellent! I've been waiting for this one, buddy! I just love this performance. Every individual on stage is a the top of their game, so much so that it was only after multiple viewings of this video that I focused on how amazing Marko and Floor sound when they're singing alternatively in unison and then in harmony. We've obviously heard them before, but, geez, such power! Thanks, Jeff!
the galloping horses sound their doing is just spectacular with emppu and marko reminds me alittle of kk downing and glen tipton's dueling galloping horses sounds so bad ass this song picks up quite quickly and a choir i hear coming with and floor starts singing
My second favourite track from Floor's first studio album with Nightwish. The favourite of course being THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH. Nice analysis as always Jeff, this is the phase of this show that I find the most interesting. You are closing in on THE POET AND THE PENDULUM which is my particular favourite live performance from this amazing band.
I know a lot of people favour the Tampere concert - which IS fantastic too. Personally I prefer Floor's badass look here over the Sorceress outfit from Tampere in part because I love the ferocity and physicality of it (I like things dark and heavy). I also prefer that Wembley is in a dark auditorium, it's easy to get drawn into the stage, the performance, the lighting and visual screens without the distraction of twilight. Again this is personal, but when you go to the movie or to the theatre, do you want the house lights on or off? If I'm honest, the Wembley show does remind me a lot more of seeing shows in London's West End - the lighting, the screens, everything. So theatrical, such a total performance elevated above the music (I'm not even sure I have the words to describe what I'm trying to say). I guess from an emotional perspective I believe the "story" of the music more in the Wembley show than the Tampere one, I feel drawn closer to it, and feel more involved. I guess I'm just happy you picked this version of an great song - I really like the tempo switch and chug for the lyrics "from words into war of the worlds" verse. So so great!
@Stratele Studios By the way, when adjed by my ex-wife why I like Nightwish recently I had two replies. The first was to send her Rick Beatos rundown of the Spotify global top 10. The second was (in short): because Tuomas writes complex music that I cannot find anywhere else outside classical music (and I include Epica). The breadth of his imagination can only in my experience be matched by composers of the level of Brahms, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and ultimately Mahler. Where people call him the Metal Mozart, I liken him more to Mahler. Quite extraordinary in the real sense of the word. And the band he has gathered around him are capable of executing every nuance and emotion of the composition in the way the best classical orchestras can.
Nice reaction! When it comes to intricate and layered compositions and heavier sound, Wintersun: Sons of Winter and Stars (live rehearsal in Sonic Pump studio) is highly recommended! And guess what, two of the guys on that video play now in Nightwish, too: Kai (drummer) and Jukka (basist).
The song is a criticism of the negative aspects of 'organized' religion. They are not opposed to having beliefs ,or to religion itself. Troy's Irish Bouzouki is a relative of the Mandola, 8 strings in 4 pairs. From the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album, Marko co -wrote the lyrics and the music with Tuomas. It's the heaviest song on that record. Next at Wembley is another heavy one, 7 Days to the Wolves.
Troy has the capo so far down it likely is in Mandolin range. Also, it only looks acoustic. It's a custom solid body electric. Forget where (many links ago in a year several back), but I saw it in an article showing the paintwork, etc. Lovely bit of work.
I first started listening to Nightwish in Sept of 2022. I never knew that genre of music existed. I started looking for similar bands and very quickly found Epica. Since you already know and appreciate Floor's vocals I'll first recommend a song where she makes a guest appearance with Epica. Sancta Terra ruclips.net/video/cx22Yuj2nzg/видео.html This performance is taken from Epica's Retrospect concert. The Retrospect concert was not a part of Epica's regular tour schedule. It was a special 10 year anniversary concert with orchestra and choir on stage. Other Epica songs I'd recommend are: Skeleton Key (Omega Alive - this was recorded live but streamed as a special event during covid lockdowns and restrictions) ruclips.net/video/zIZkvhiOUU8/видео.html Consign to Oblivion (Zenith in Paris) ruclips.net/video/dkqyyUTCMUQ/видео.html Unchain Utopia (Omega) ruclips.net/video/c8XdrOhEZl0/видео.html Sensorium (Paradiso concert) ruclips.net/video/RD4eHNSl4yM/видео.html Victims of Contingency (Omega) ruclips.net/video/aT1JsH2_97c/видео.html Storm the Sorrow (music video) ruclips.net/video/dNoTvg0t52c/видео.html You could also go through both the Retrospect concert or Omega Alive show the same way you are going through Nightwish concerts Epica and Nightwish have many similar characteristics but a very different sound overall. Some people say Nightwish is better and others say Epica. I consider them to be equals. Which band I like better depends on what I want to listen to at the moment.
Every time I see Floor and Tuomas head banging and her Dutch windmill I cringe. Not from what they are doing but because I have a herniated disk and 2 compressed disks in my neck. If I tried that they’d have to take me off the stage on a stretcher! 😅😅😊😊
Hey I was just checking out your channel.. "very nice" I want to suggest a band I don't see in your music world.. This band is called "THE WARNING" It's 3 sisters from Mexico who are taking over the rock world. Their sound is massive. All 3 sing.. the harmonies are awesome. In some of their stuff the drummer sings while playing, it's so good. The girls are all 3 classically trained on piano. From a very young age ... Around 3,4,5, years old. Now they are18,21,23 ..and have been playing together their whole lives... Pau on drums, Ale on bass, Dany on guitar.. they've opened for bands like MUSE, HALESTORM, FOO FIGHTERS, GUNS N ROSES and more... They're better seen live.. the remake of ENTER SANDMAN They did for METALLICA'S BLACKLIST ALBUM Is so different, it's crazy good.. try THE WARNING LIVE AT "TEATRO METROPOLITAN CDMX.. Pick any song except for a few covers they write all they're own music. You can thank me later for the introduction... TWA (The Warning Army) will show up on your channel for support of this awesome band... Enjoy... 🎶🤟☮️
First : Troy is playing an Electric Bouzouki ( A musical instrument popular in Greece. It is a member of the long-necked lute family, with a round body with a flat top and a long neck with a fretted fingerboard.). Marko is Playing an Warwick Infinity / Panthera Double neck Bass and Guitar ( It is called THE BEAST). This song is against organized religions based on tribal religious texts, especially The Bible, it's not against personal faith in some Deity. However, one should realize that all those religious texts are & have been interpreted and used to justify unimaginable cruelties, persecution, discrimination etc., the worst being the idea that man is separate from nature & by some divine right above all other lifeforms, which explains the current almost catastrophic state of our planet. lyrics are spot on - so many fractures in our world have a root in the fantasy that each of the religions/sects/whatever are THE ONE way. This song speaks, with anger, against the fact that we humans are destroying ourselves and this world based on a power structure that needs to be made obsolete - we ALL deserve better. I LOVE this Song . NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘
Best Live Singer ,best live band in the World .Send them to the Superbowl you have the greatest show on Earth. 🤘🤘🤘
Would LOVE to see them perform at the Hollywood Bowl.
Totally agree
❤🔥🤘🔥❤
Pregnant Floor would be a big improvement over Rihanna - people defending her lip syncing due to her pregnancy lol.
Weak Fantasy would do well at the Superbowl... well... no, I'd fear for their lives (if the crowd would understand the lyrics).
@@Freeze014 I think The Greatest Show On Earth would be EPIC at the Hollywood Bowl
7 Days to the Wolves next.... another banger (they all are)
As I often say, this is one of my favorite Nightwish songs. Thank you for working your way through these concerts. Yep, this is top 3 for me. The lyrics mean so much to me personally.
That's why I love this band. You never know from song to song and a surprise from measure to measure.
For me the greatness of Nightwish is how able they are to make complexity look so freaakin easy. And of course they are absolutely amazing skillfull.
Loved your reaction
Troy is playing a Fylde Irish Bouzouki. The guitar part of Marko’s Warwick bass is a Framus guitar
Yep, the double neck is a Warwick/Framus - Infinity/Panthera.
I'm utterly delighted that you are back with Nightwish, makes my day to share the joy of listening the music and get your insights of it - a moment of finest enjoyment!
Glad you enjoy it! 🫶
It's almost impossible to have a favourite Nightwish song, but this one is right up there for me! 🤘
Nightwish is amazing. Only two months to the concert in Kitee Finland where it all started. Hurra!!
If you think that was great, wait until you see the Tampere version! The Tampere version of Weak Fantasy is easily in my top 10 all-time favorite Nightwish performances. 🤘🤟
I prefer this. The dark with the Lyrics. My problem with Tampere is the mid Summer.only my opinion. Greetings from nothern Germany 🤘

Nice reaction and analysis. It’s great that Kai got his place in the spotlight showing what a great technical player he is.
Yes!
There’s a lot going on here, wow.
Marko playing the double neck and singing backing, Troy playing that “thing” and also backing vocals… just amazing.

Always great to see you react to Nightwish!
Thank you BB!
My favorite Nightwish song overall. Total banger that shows everything they are about. And the lyrics do not pull any punches.
🤩👍💥💯🎼
Skin trembling, roaming Banger track!

A killer 😊song, so fierce, so damn powerful 😇💪💪💪
Yessss!!!! It’s my favorite!!! 🎉
Thanks, Jeff. Love that drum intro! I know what you mean about the dynamics and complexities. Tuomas is a master craftsman. 🤘
My second favourite track from Floor's first studio album with Nightwish. The favourite of course being THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH.

Superb performance. Marco is excellent as always.
Lyrics so full of truths.
Troy plays Irish bazouki.
The Tampete is even better IMO.
I concur on all counts!!

Troy is playing a bouzouki….originally a Greek instrument that was adopted and modified by Irish musicians in the 1960s.
🤗🍒🤘🏻 welcome back
Kai is a REAL BEAST!👍👍🤘🤘
I can't wait to see your response to Alpenglow. Its my favorite song from Endless Forms.
I love this "love letter" to the three book Religiouns. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
One of my very favorites! I have to admit I had to look up Necrocracy.
