"We are just regular guys..." is correct and that is what I appreciate most - real, wholesome, honest, and witty. I didnt know that watching 30 seconds of ads helps the channel. I will do that from now on. Im from the USA Im very impressed with your english. You two speak better English than many English born people
Thanks! Haha we don't know about our English being that good but we appreciate your compliment 😊 We didn't know it worked like that either until we started digging deeper. RUclips charges advertisers only if their ads are watched for at least 30 seconds (or in its full length if the ad is shorter than 30 seconds). At the same time RUclips guidelines say that we are not allowed to motivate our viewers in any way so 🤷♂️

One of the things I like is that you have the realness and rawness of what RUclips was in the past. Most channels now seem to be full of ads and sponsored videos and there's not much connection between the creator and the audience. I know you might find it harder to reply to all the comments as the channel grows but I really appreciate that you do so.

Thanks, we appreciate you saying that! I know what you mean with all the ads and deals, sometimes it's a bit too much and the video content feels less genuine. The number of comments has been growing recently but so far we're still able to manage to reply to everyone 😊

We've come a long way. It's still somehow weird when we are filming, but one gets used to it. It's also nice that we got better in English 😊

What a wonderful way to share you RUclips Anniversary! I am so glad I found your videos and have enjoyed how refreshing and natural you both are. You often reflect on how introverted you tend to be, but that just makes the viewer feel more "at home". You are correct, that many RUclips couples seem to live a carefree life where they don't or are not required to work. Your videos make your viewers feel like you are more like they are. It's nice to see reality rather than a make believe fantasy. Keep up the great work - it is appreciated by many. And from a US viewer, I appreciate the effort you go to to film in English, although I'm sure I would watch (with subtitles) if they were not.

I just discovered you guys two days ago when you came up on my feed, and I've binged most of your videos in that time (I have a hard time sleeping with chronic insomnia). I am of your core demographic: gay man from the US who is older than you, and I'll explain why I like your channel. I've seen a lot of gay couples' channels through the years and many couples end up breaking up because they make it a full-time business and the stress gets to them, so my advice to you is to quit RUclips if it ever becomes a problem and just focus on your own lives. But unlike some of those "Insta-models" you were talking about, you guys have a very long-term relationship and are more grounded with real lives. It's also interesting to see life in Czechia. I am single by choice and I like to be, so I get my relationship "fix" by watching others without having to put in the work myself. Not everyone is meant to be in a relationship (I learned this about myself some time ago), but I find them fun to watch from the outside. Also, its nice watching a couple build something like your country house over time in a realistic (not "Hollywood) way. That's why I like your channel so far. Thanks for sharing your lives with people like me.

I don't know if it was always because of filming videos for RUclips but it wouldn't be too surprising. I have been a subscriber for about a month or two and I have been watching all the back videos. One of the great things about you is that you come across as totally natural, friendly and humorous too. Also it is nice to see what life is like in the Czech Republic.
Oh, and I like all the outdoors videos on hikes, in the towns and cities and on the farm.

I tend to be attracted to videos on RUclips where the presenters reveal their personalities honestly. It doesn't have to be a particular topic or experience but more the continuous expressions of who you are. It is more about the feeling of being with you, to come to know you and of course, to care for you. About your comment on more older viewers, for me it is because I now have the time where before, my wife and children needed my time and that was fulfilling to me. Now my children are grown and away and my wife has passed several years ago. RUclips is my family now and due to my health I mostly live vicariously through these interactions. I can honestly express my gratitude to you, just for being yourselves!

We don't usually eat local cuisine because it's not very healthy 😆 But one of the things we have on our list is to make a video about what we eat in general so maybe we could include something there. We wanted to ask how a couple of committed introverts decided to do videos, and before we had the chance to ask, you answered! As a couple as well, we really enjoy your lives together, we have been together 16 years which is much like your 12 years. Yes we are part of your demographic, we are older. I don't know how a live video would work because the huge time differences would be difficult. It looks there are 7 hours difference between Mexico and the Czech Republic. Muchas gracias 😊 Haha, we're glad we could answer your question even without asking! It's nice to see so many couples being together for so long. When we compare ourselves with people around us in real life, we usually "win" for being together longer but due to the fact that most of our viewers are older than us, suddenly our 12 years seem like a short time 😃 If we ever go live, it would be in the evening our time so that people from America could join as well, but we haven't really thought about it much.
You guys are great and should be very proud of your channel! I would never have the patience to do all the work involved. I love all your videos, but I think the talking ones may be so popular, because you’re genuine, nice & fun! And it is very interesting to get glimpses of life in the Czech Republic!

Happy RUclips anniversary! I was hooked on your videos from the start. They are entertaining, humorous, and educational. I had a preconceived notion of what life in the Czech Republic might look like. I was SO wrong. The insight your videos offer into the Czech Republic is so very interesting. Your knowledge of contemporary English sayings & idioms is amazing. I could not imagine trying to make RUclips videos in my second language. You are very brave to do so. Most of all, as a couple you are a delight to watch. Maybe it is an "opposites attract" thing. Whatever it is, you two have the chemistry that makes people want to tune in and see what you are up to next!

We're glad you're still here, watching and commenting on our videos 😊 We don't blame you for having misconceptions about our country, people don't usually even know where it's located so we're used to that 😁 We enjoy sharing more about our lives in the Czech Republic though. Filming videos in another language is tough but since English is the international language used for communication worldwide, we are used to it more and it might be a bit easier for us than for you filming videos for example in Spanish.

Glad you enjoy our hikes, Jerry. We don't celebrate St Patrick's Day here but Easter Friday and Easter Monday are both national holidays. We'll probably talk about it more in one of our next videos because it's quite interesting 😊

Hi Musu! We're glad you enjoyed the video. Indeed, having a RUclips channel can be quite complicated, if you turn the ads on. We were also surprised at first how much money RUclips keeps to themselves. Good to hear the translation is working fine. We correct the subtitles manually because RUclips doesn't always understand our accent so that probably helps with the translation as well. When we don't film videos, we mix Czech and Slovak together, sometimes we don't remember anymore how to say some words in our own language 😃 We're very happy with the amount of subscribers we gained in the last few weeks. Haha, you don't have to worry about TikTok, it's not for us. We do have an account but we only post trailers for our RUclips videos there so you're not missing anything.
I very much appreciate your channel as a European gay couple. It means a lot to me and to other Europeans living in similar situations. I look forward to your videos. CONGRATULATIONS on sharing with us for a whole year! COVID is such a hindrance, but I really enjoy your channel. I discovered you guys on a push by RUclips, and I'm so glad I decided to watch you. For starters, I say, just keep up what you are doing. Once COVID is in a more controlled state, I'm sure your proposed travel videos will be great. Also, maybe, from time to time, a trip to the grocery store or going out to dinner video would be great. Local points of interest, both in the city and out at your country farm, would be appreciated, at least by me! Again I want to say that I am so glad I found you. I always look forward to your videos and have enjoyed catching up on many of your past endeavors. When you find yourselves in the USA, please stop by Washington, DC. I would love to meet you both and show you around the many museums, galleries and, historic sites.

For now we still haven't made any travel plans, we want to wait until things get back to normal so we don't have to cancel our plans if things get worse again. Hopefully it will all get better soon. I wish RUclips limited the length of ads because it's ridiculous what can be published as an ad. Once I got an ad that was 10 hours in length. Some relax sounds or something. We'll make sure to show you more of our area in the future. I definitely prefer your natural and relaxed style to the more intense and almost hyper, "in your face," fake friendly tone that seems so common on RUclips. I come to RUclips mostly for music performance videos and a few select vloggers whose presence I enjoy. I have cycled through a few of those (oh wait, but you already knew that about me, so you say! :) ), but I think that I will be following the two of you for the long haul because you are so calm, relaxing, warm, and humorous. You are very right about your channel being interesting for international viewers. It is really great to see a gay couple in the Czech Republic - my own knowledge about central european life was so limited, before I started watching. I didn't even know how to pronounce Brno. LOL Your videos ARE interesting AND your videos are improving with time. I can't imagine how much time and effort goes into video creation. Tommy isn't a tax evader, he HAS to do it the correct way. Hugs to Tommy. Live videos would be cool, and far easier for you - no editing. From the live chats that I have been a part of, the chats that are the most interesting are the ones that have a specific topic - that can have different views/opinions/plans. I like Gay/gardening channels, that's how I got here, so I prefer the country house videos. Garden planning might be a topic for a live chat, but those are the ones I have been watching lately. :) You guys are always fun and so in love with each other - THAT is why I think people like watching you just sitting around the apartment.
We're happy to share information about our country and region with people living far away, it's been a real pleasure. Glad you enjoy our country vlogs, it's motivational to film the videos because it makes us do stuff rather than just lying around. We still don't know if we'll ever go live but you're right, if we did, we'd want to choose a topic rather than just go live randomly and then realize we have nothing to talk about 😄
Watched some of this video earlier but just now got around to viewing it i;completely. I like the talking videos because it gives insight as to what goes on in the Czech Republic and in particular your lifestyles. I must congratulate you on the progress your videos have made. Everything has gotten better, not that the earlier ones were bad. They have just improved, filming and content. I must congratulate Peter on his English. I comes much more freely now, in fact both you and Tommy do an excellent job. I can identify with Peter's statement that he understands English but did not get the chance to speak it. I can understand French very well but no longer get the opportunity to speak it. One gets out of practice easily. Sometimes the word choices amuse me, not that they are incorrect, it is just a different choice of words to express yourselves. That adds an element of uniqueness to the program. I think most people enjoy the shirtless scenes as I do. Never realized that you guys had difficulty with all the government red tape. My favorite videos are the country hikes in the different seasons. That is a great part of the charm of your videos. Even though I have been to the Czech Republic, it was mostly cities that I was exposed to . A lot of your hikes take me back to what I remember of the beautiful countryside and the small towns and villages. Keep up the good work. Take care. Tony
P. S. Someone mentioned that you speak better English than some Americans they know. They are absolutely right, unfortunately many Americans have a patois of their own even though they are suppose to be educated.
Hi Tony, we're glad to hear you noticed a positive change in our videos regarding quality and content. It all came naturally as we had no idea what we were doing in the beginning. Over time we got more comfortable speaking English and talking to camera. Sometimes when we watch back the final video, we're thinking "that's not how I would say it if I had more time to think about it" so I know what you mean about the word choice 😁 We're happy you enjoy our hiking videos and getting to know the Czech countryside.

I like the idea of sharing some fun facts from history while for example traveling or hiking to somehow connect it with the place we're showing. We'll see what's waiting for us this upcoming year 😊 I don't think we're gonna do any heart surgery on our channel though 😁
There is nothing wrong or awkward about your use of English, either of you. I had only heard of the Czech Republic as “Cheklossklovakia”, as a European country I remember reading about in high school, a long long time ago. No idea what goes on there or how the people think of Americans today. (Please don’t use the last four years as normal). But when I see you guys roaming the countryside, it is interesting seeing the land and outdoors and what the weather is. I know you have been under the same Covid travel limitations as we have been; looking forward to see where you go once the bans are lifted and you can both get vaccinated. But basically, as one gay couple to another, I love seeing you two interacting, sharing the work, cooking together, cuddling together, and kissing on camera; it makes me feel like we are the same all over the world, just trying to live our lives with the person we love, and it is perfectly normal to do so, no matter where you live.
Love your spelling of Czechoslovakia 😁 You remember right though, we were one country until 1993 when we split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. You could say Peter and I were born in the same country but then we became foreigners to each other. We can't wait to travel although we'll have to spend some time taking care of our country home as well. You're right, we're all the same and we enjoy showing others that our part of Europe might not be as different as some people might think.
I thought the spelling looked strange, but the Apple spelling algorithm on my iPad changed what I was typing to that, so I thought I must be remembering it wrong. I will take your spelling as correct, since you live there and know better than some geek in the Apple spelling history department how to spell your own country’s previous name, even if it isn’t one single country any more. And if you ever see California spelled Kalifornia with a K, it’s just a Brad Pitt movie, not the official name of the state.

Well that was interesting. I always skip the ads but now I’ll watch them so you earn more cash. People don’t usually reveal much information about making money on RUclips. I think the thing about your channel is that just the fact that you are gay and live where you do, makes you different from the majority of RUclips couples. Gay viewers like to see themselves represented “in public” in a positive way. Your good and happy relationship and way of life is affirming and models a life that other gay couples aspire to. You break some of the negative stereotypes associated with gay men just by being yourselves and sharing parts of your life. Or maybe it’s just me that thinks this way. Well from now ON I will try to be more patient and sit through the advertisements til the end so you can earn a bit more cash. One idea for a video would be for you to tell us what you do for a living and how you chose an occupation, and what schooling you’ve had.

Haha that's very true, I didn't even think about the damned ants! According to RUclips page for advertisers, they get charged if you watch their ads for at least 30 seconds (or in full if they're shorter than that) or if you click on them, whatever happens first. However they also prohibit us publishers to motivate our viewers to click on ads and if they find suspicious behavior like someone clicking on too many ads or clicking and exiting right away, they will refund the advertiser and they can even punish our channel. Apparently the ad watching/clicking has to be all natural. It's all quite strict and demotivating 😄
