there was SO much good footage that didn't end up in this video!!! who wants a part two or a blooper reel? sound off in the comments and maybe we'll release something 👀 👇🏽
Natalie Tran!!!! Please get her back again! She’s a legend! I started watching her when I was a awkward year 5 kid back in 2008, and I still follow her channel and social media almost 15 years later. She’s that cool.
First wave of Aboriginals came from Southeast Asia to Australia. The 2nd wave came from India. The indigenous have roots in Asia. So even they come from somewhere. 😀
I'm Guyanese 🇬🇾 and it's funny how majority of this I can relate to. I detest shoes in the house. I don't even wear the same flip flops outside and inside, I have separate ones and they DO NOT interchange. Love rice for breakfast. And I've always wanted to be different, but not because of my complexion. I'm extremely socially awkward. Idk what to say to ppl. I would sit and smile and look all around. Really loved this show. I appreciate all the persons who participated and shared their views❤
I am convinced all "ethnic" cultures are so similar lol I am mexican american and can relate to so much! Casual racism, wet hair you die, getting hit with w.e was on hand, and the best/worst one i tell you all the things wrong with you BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!
Honestly! As a first generation African in Europe, I always feel akin with Asian folks! My nail ladies (Vietnamese) TOTALLY get my cheeky humour... All based on culture
Slavic background here and every one of those is sooo relatable! The only acceptable reason for shoes in the house is if the floor is tiled, because no shoes with tiles = feet on the cold floor = certain sickness.
I agree with Marc. There's nothing untoward (most of the time) about asking people's ethnicities. As a person of colour I'd be happy that people are interested to know more about me.
I just wish it was as normal for white people to get asked this. I've had friends or coworkers I've known for months then be shocked to learn they speak fluent Polish or were born in France or Zimbabwe! Let's all start asking people where are you REALLY from, regardless of race.
Love love this video! I answered I have to every question, which was nostalgic and sad at the same time. Kudos to the great group of Asian Australians in the video too 💯
“Not a bad Asian, a bad person” “Let’s hash out our childhood trauma rn” 🥹😂😭❤️ I’m Asian American and I related to this heavily. Loved this video and this bunch of people!!
Everyone in this video is gorgeous and relatable and would love to see more content like this! So used to our asian diaspora rep being mostly North American so it was great not just seeing but also hearing myself in this video ❤ Felt some of these answers in my bones😂 I also generally agree that I don't particularly find the question of "where are you from" irritating because it's about 10x worse when they start playing Asian Roulette with great confidence and get it wrong 😩
Finally i found it ! I need to prepare an English listening test . I am having trouble with Australian accent. This material is the best for me ! Oh! Yeah!
The rude comment segment; when she quoted, " it's so nice you can not care how your hair looks" could actually be a compliment. I know I envy people who are smothered by social anxiety about always having to present yourself as "perfect". I guess you just have to know your content
In the Netherlands my family would go nutso if I didn't take off my shoes and coat to enter the house. In Australia, they care a little bit less, but older people still respect the politeness of wearing socks inside.
Hispanic here and Rice for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is us too 🇩🇴🇵🇷 even just as a little snack I’ll have a bowl with egg lol Never get tired of rice!
Asian-Australians 🤝 Germans Shoes off! In Germany, we even havehouse shoes for our guests. My mum needs special insoles and has the same indoor-trainers as outdoor-trainers. House shoes for life!
Not asian (My dad was italian, mum was NZ maori), but the language thing was a big in our house. My dad refused to speak english at home, would only speak italian, so we had to learn it from a young age (even mum knew italian). It did help in some ways, like when I went to italy trying to navigate my way through tuscany (where my Dad was from and is buried), but it did piss me off when I was younger.
If someone keeps their shoes on in their own house, you should keep yours on too, otherwise you may end up with very dirty socks/ footsoles by the time you leave. Went to a friend's house and asked why she keeps her shoes on inside, she said it's because the floor is so dirty she needs to protect her feet from the dirt 😫 I was like uhhh girl it's dirty BECAUSE of the shoes
Lmao. I will never understand why people want to wear shoes inside. Shoes were literally invented to walk outdoors. And it’s way more comfortable and sanitary to not wear shoes inside the home. If they really wanted to wear shoes then they could have indoor shoes which are made specifically for that purpose.
My mum must have Asain blood in her, (she is from Belfast, N. Ireland), we were never allowed to wear shoes in the house. Soon as you were home, shoes off!!
there was SO much good footage that didn't end up in this video!!! who wants a part two or a blooper reel? sound off in the comments and maybe we'll release something 👀 👇🏽

Incredible cast!! Loved every minute of this video. Banking on a part 2? And 3? And 46?
I wholeheartedly agree about the rice noise! The sound of scooping the rice and then pouring it into the rice cooker, the BEST noise!!

NATALIE TRAN!!!!
Fun fact: National language of Singapore is Malay! English is one of the 4 official languages
The rude comment segment; when she quoted, " it's so nice you can not care how your hair looks" could actually be a compliment. I know I envy people who are smothered by social anxiety about always having to present yourself as "perfect". I guess you just have to know your content

People have said to me "you speak English very well"

Rice with eggs in the morning and soy sauce is enough to make my morning
