I own a Yamaha SA2200, a truly fantastic guitar. Great sound, versatility, playability and craftmanship. I recommend it. I was lucky to find a used one for almost half the price of a new one. The guitar was a couple years old, but barely used.
So in Yamaha's infinite wisdom they have discontinued production of this model. I have the SA 2000 purchased in 1982 for $675 brand new at Sam Ash in NYC. Not quite as high end as the 2200, but still an awesome instrument. I have updated to include Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz and Tone Pro Bridge and tailpiece and Schaller tuners.
i just wannna say i paid 300$ more for the SA2200 when i made my decision between es335(custom shop) and the SA2200 its just feels way much better then any guitar i ever played, and sound like an amazing semi hollow, but some magic on the sound something that sounds like prefection... its not explainable you go ahead and find a way to test it yourselfs XD
Rather have the YAMAHA SA2200 than the GIBSON 335! GIBSON IS NOT USING THE SAME WOODS Anymore on their guitars. They have changed all the wood products! YAMAHA has not! SA2200 is super high "QUALITY" for less money than the GIBSON 335! SUPER GREAT GUITAR, ONE OF YAMAHA'a BEST! LIKE A VINTAGE HAMMOND B3 "QUALITY"! Don't wait buy it today at Hammond Organ World! I got a great deal there!
I sent a link from this video to my son. About ten minutes later, he sent a drawing back to me of Lou Volpe from the 2:07 mark in the video, thought Lou might like it: imgur.com/8c82Wl5
It's okay to lose hair as long as you are a brilliant guitarist! I'd rather lose my hair and be bald as long as I can play a semi hollow body guitar! Lol!😂
magicman93 You reminded me to view this video again. Hahah..I reckon it might be Thai Budda.. looks like he can hardly see through those eyes.. and he`s going with way too space echo sound... What a dude..!
He seems like a great guy, but the echo is absolutely unnecessary for a demo. Also, he does look about as stoned as it's possible to get without being hospitalised.
BUILD = Craftsmanship was "Amazing", truly blow away. FEEL = One of the best damn actions i've played "EVER" !!! SOUND = Sorry, but you could get the cheapest Les Paul "COPY" ever made, drop it from a second story building, and you might have something similar in tone ! I was really bummed because it was the damn nicest thing to play ever ! Man if they took this neck and action and made a Les Paul, Gibson would be shittin Kittens !

I come back to these videos about once a year for my Lou Volpe fix.

I hope “infinite wisdom” was a joke.
I’ve thought of late about both an SA-2000 and this model. Both of them seem to have appeal.
Joe Volpe us a mellow dude! I bet he's a great teacher.
This kat is my hero. That's what I call getting down.
Please bring back Lou Volpe for more guitar demos!!!
Very nice demo! :) Liked the enthusiasm and feel!
Echo was irritating.
I like the way he makes chords ring with harmonics

Excellent!
Not difficult to imagine some version of reality in which I choose to own this model in place of my Sheridan II.
He looks like Larry Carlton stoned!
lol.
Great Stoned guitarist

i bet lou could play a broom and make it sound just as good as a yamaha or a gibson...
......SSA 20200 guitar...mmmm yup
damn who is this guy again
... I don't know who any of those people are .__. ...........
With nickle/chrome hardware rather than "gag me gold", and an adult nut width rather than the unplayable 1 11/16ths, I would consider it.
The demo would be better without the delay.
Semi Hollow w/ Sunburst
By the looks of things, this dude has been smoking some Jamaican..!
I just read your comment right before he looked at the camera. Definately lold
He's got Afghan/Canadian. Way too strong to be Jamaican haha

what a character indeed xD and he just keeps doing that awful harmonic slap. love it
How high can you go? :3
ohh yeah ill name that tune in.......................................5 years.
It sounds like a delay to me. But I agree. It kinda makes everything all messy sounding.
smoooooooooooooooooooooth
is this a Japanese made guitar?
Dennis Johnson Yes it is a real MIJ guitar !
sami bagelis Thanks for the answer

Good!!!
ok ok dont YELL
Creepy......
I would love know this guy as he’s freaky as me 🤓
5:07 stella by starlight :D
your face is....hahahahahhahahaha
Irritating delay!
Why would you use effects on a demo? Great playing ruined by questionable taste.
its funny
Mettre autant d effets pour un soit disant test de guitare n a aucun sens a part camoufler des lacunes techniques
