Nice to see a brand other than Fender or Gibson showcased on GOTD. A beautiful looking Yamaha that Lemmo showcased with his playing. Thanks to all at Norms (and Jen) for the videos she puts together for our entertainment.
It's about time, y'all. I bought a 1980 Yamaha SA-2000 which largely amounts to that era's rendition of this guitar in November 2022. It's not difficult to believe it is a better value than trying to scrape around for enough moolah to get the original article. Thank you guys for uploading this particular video.
Vintage Yamaha have been my go to for years, they just don't get the praise they deserve. The sg series are also phenomenal, but my 77 studio Lord 800 is my baby. Tone for miles.
I recently picked up a Yamadawg Ac5m acoustic and its so good, as a 335 guy I am really seriously looking at these but new they want 2599 with NO CASE! What kind of bullshit is that?! And the neck profile seems like a slim taper, doesnt sound like it would be comfortable on those big vibratos like the edge of fretboard would dig into your first finger knuckle, like slim taper SGs do, unless it has good shoulders, I wish I could get the feel of one. I am used to a 64 profile. But it sounds fantastic.
Actually, Fender makes the Volkswagens of the guitar world (even just like VW in Mexico). Ibanez is Toyota and Yamaha is just the Yamaha of guitars. 😛 Seriously, the SA2200 is a pretty sophisticated construction put together at a very high standard and very pronouncedly made in Japan, a prestige object for Yamaha so nothing on it feels "Volkswagen".
I have one, it is ridiculously good, flawless workmanship and its own sound. Closer to a 347 than a 335. Don't forget about the coil splits on each tone knob.
Yamaha had (have) their own factory (Hamamatsu), their Nippon red label acoustics are made at the Gakki plant. I don't think any of theirs were Matsumoku.
@@simoncaddick9085 Yes, I know. I was suggesting they review Matsumoku made guitars because they are great as well. Something other than Fenders and Gibson.
Great sounding guitar. Yamaha never gets the credit they deserve.
My mate got a second hand Yamaha acoustic, not an expensive guitar by any stretch but it is by far the nicest sounding acoustic I’ve ever heard.
Yeah ! I always liked the SG style Yamaha that Carlos Santana played back in the 70’s .
I have a Yamaha llta transacoustic and it's the best sounding acoustic guitar I've ever played
@@kevindaigle 👍🎸
@DoctorDave5 Its like this > anything under $5k Yamaha beats the snot out of the competition
Adorable cameo at 1:30. Congratulations Jen.
Nice playing Lemmo, beautiful guitar. Yamahas are excellent guitars!

Finally something that's not a Gibson or Fender.
Don’t forget you can split those pickups
Wow! That guitar sounded great. Thanks Mike,Jen,and Gracie.
Norm's x Yamaha 👀
Great playing as always, Lemmo 🤘
I’ve got a 79 SA1000 and it is the sweetest sounding semi-hollow I’ve owned, it’s a keeper for sure. Love jamming on it.
Are the pickups unpotted
Great playing as usual and I love seeing a Yamaha on the channel!
I love Yamaha guitars

OH look at that baby’s face!!! So adorable 🥰 and I don’t mean Lemmo 😂
I want to see a demo of the cute baby ❤
Nice-sounding guitar, and great playing as usual.
Lovely flame on that top
YAMAHA!!!
My Pacifica still lurks in the corner.
Definitely Maybe.
Nice one Lemmo !!! Beautiful guitar,I wish they would make them again ! Hello Gracie 👋🏻😎 Thanks Jen !!
Finally Yamaha at norm cool
Welcome back Michael. Nice guitar + great playing as always.
Love Lemmo’s playing! 🤘
I have a Yamaha acoustic from around ‘81. I’d put it up against any Martin or Taylor. Such a great instrument!
Beautiful clear sound ❤
Those old Yamaha guitars are nice.
Great playing! What's the first tune?
LOOKS AND SOUNDS BETTER THAN A GIBSON. 😎 Cool IT IS NOTHING LIKE A 335 IT STANDS ON ITS OWN
Beautiful guitar!
Yamaha reverse engineered Steinway Grand Pianos, Martin acoustics & Italian Moto-GP motorcycles are solid.
Beautiful instrument...
Nice sounding guitar
Nice guitar! I almost bought one 30 years ago…

Finally! There have not been enough yammi's played on this channel...
Fantastic guitar, though I think it's overpriced now with the Revstar released
Your playing is just excellent though, such great feel

Definitely getting one!
More Yamaha please!
I own a 335, but that’s a beautiful guitar.
Beautiful guitar. Looks very different from the Yamaha I had in middle school. Mine was blue with 2 tires and a motor 😂
I’ve given both Yamahas a bit of money over my lifetime
Name of last song please... my CRS is getting worse : (
Cigarettes and Alcohol - Oasis (so basically Get It On by T-Rex :D )

Yamaha Guitars for me 57 years playing collecting : Never a Fan ... What a Baby 🤍
Hey Lemmo, can you hit me up? I really love that song northern lights and I'm dying to learn how to play it. I'd love a chance to see the tabs.
Nice YAMAHA! From the days when Japan was producing quality guitars that surpassed Gibson.
Cars kinda vibe going on there?
I had one back in the day, bought it because I couldn't afford a 335
I have one, it is ridiculously good, flawless workmanship and its own sound. Closer to a 347 than a 335. Don't forget about the coil splits on each tone knob.
Would love to see a Yamaha SG2000 on GOTD in the future! Absolutely killer underrated workhorses of the 70s!
Yamaha had so many top tier guitarists endorsing them in the 70’s, then it seems that they got edged out by the likes of Ibanez and PRS.
Please demo more Japanese guitars! The Matsumoku made guitars are killer guitars! I have two Roland guitars and they are super guitars!
Yamaha had (have) their own factory (Hamamatsu), their Nippon red label acoustics are made at the Gakki plant. I don't think any of theirs were Matsumoku.

Bang a gong
It will always be Get It On, all the best

These are so much nicer than a 335,,in every way ,, someone buy this so I'm not tempted anymore
I like the guitar and so, but the rumba type slap on tha bass mic is not so very nice to the ears
Awesome law suite Yamaha. Mark Agnesi going to come in and give you his "Play authentic" speech!!! HAHAHA!!!!
Yamaha A.R.E. Series sound amazing!
