Due to the lack of sustain, and the way each note dies in a sort of tapering roundness, the hollow-body guitar, be it acoustic or electric, has a distinctive sound. The solid-body electric guitar was invented to improve sustain and curtail feedback, and ever since, we have been trying to get back that hollow-body tone and resonance while enjoying the sustain.... but alas, we cannot have both.
Sure you can, center block semi hollow.
@@VictorVectorMusic it's a compromise. a good one indeed. I love the tone of a well made 335ES.

My Eastman t486b has incredible sustain. Beats my LP solid body in all aspects.
One jazz player who used a 335 semi hollow guitar was Emily Remler. Sadly she passed away at a young age but she was a great player.
Thank you Electro-Vox studios (electro-vox.com/) for having us! Check out Mason here: instagram.com/masonstoops/
Hollow and semi hollow body guitars are my fave guitar type 💖
Good choice!
Much amount of sound comes also from the hands. You prove that as well here. Great playing, great sound!
Very true! Thanks for watching
Beautiful playing, my friend!
Glad you like it!
Lovely playing. Sold my Strat recently and got an Epiphone 66 Century. Got that Black Keys tone on tap !!
Resonator guitars weren’t “supposed to” increase volume, as you say, they DID increase volume, and way more than the rather limited acoustic Achtops! Only when made electric did archtops become loud enough to be heard over a crowd.
Thanks for the lesson!! I learned a lot
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
I just bought an ibanez af195 and I'm in love. ❤️
Great playing!
thanks!
Good playing, man!
thanks!
Late 50s Gretsch. About 1957. Duane Eddy made that exact model and era famous.

man I wish I could play like that. Goals!
thanks! Check out our site and we may just be able to help you out with that 😃
I've got a Gretsch G2420 Streamliner Hollow Body Electric goes for around $450 and plays great.
really nice guitar!
That's most likely a '57 Gretsch.. No G-Brand on the corner and those DeArmond pickups were replaced with Filtertrons in '58.
Honestly, I love the sound of a hollow body distorted. I love it for blues playing. You can really make it howl in the upper registers and get some nice overtones.
I just bought an ibanez af195 and I am in love with it's tone.
@@shanesonksen1515 such a good guitar. I got an Epiphone casino
feedback is not about the air inside the body..it is that the top of the guitar is a thin piece of wood that reacts to the vibration of the strings passing through the bridge AND THE AIR PRESSURE CHANGES FROM THE SPEAKERS CAUSING THE THIN BODY TOP TO VIBRATE::BECAUSE THE TOP HAS SUCH LITTLE MASS::in an electric guitar the body top is so rigid that it is not affected be the changes in air pressure due to the speakers..the speakers create alternating positive and negative air pressures at more than 20 times per second..
Mason
what us the name of the song in the intro
As far as we know it is a short jazzy improv by Mason!
This first guitar
👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸
Except Spanish flamenco guitars, they were already made in 1850 and became a solo instrument 1900
very cool!
