Like these "What's in your wallet?" kind of videos. Not that everyone needs to have the same stuff, but it offers insight into things I might not have thought of before. Thanks.
I got a pair of the Dr slicks in a 4 inch for the same reason... Don't get the 4 inch. The notches aren't adequate so the first setting requires tremendous force to set, and the barb wasn't lined up on my pair so I had to remove it so it would clamp right. Might have been a defective pair... But from other images I've seen, they appear to have the same issues.
Ok. I like it. Simple, DIY solution versus paying $45 for one. But you forceps/cutters are in a fixed position at the end of the paracord loop. Seems impractical when it comes time to use them to remove a stubborn hook: you'll either have to move your head toward the fish or take the lanyard off. How is this working in practical application?
I use a similar homemade para cord lanyard for my nippers and clamps. Never thought about putting tippet on it like that. Now I am going to try it out! One thing I would recommend is tying in a break away knot in the back so you don't get choked if the lanyard gets stuck around something . Its pretty secure and never had it inadvertently break off. So stupidly simple, but effective and efficient and we always have the tendency to over complicate things. Thank you. 🤗👊
Very simple and clean, thanks. You might consider a using some kind of breakaway lanyard for added safety
Like the keep-it-simple approach. But a lanyard without a clip to attach to your shirt will keep swinging when you lean forward to release fish etc
