Made me cry. I'm 50 years old and we've lost so many in country music since I was a kid but man this just hits different. Toby brought so many people from all walks of life together through his music, his patriotism, his charity, his no nonsense, his faith, his strength and his courage. I know he has a spot in the angels choir.
I’m a 28 year old that listens to rap and rnb regularly and even this touched me. Toby brought me lots of memories as a little boy and some of my closest times I’ve had with my family involved jamming to Toby Keith with my parents. My father is now the same age as Toby as well (hell of a country singer) so it really made me really reflect on my life and focus more on the times we have with our loved ones.. this world is gonna miss Toby.

My older brother was a Marine ('87 to '91). Was a US Embassy guard for 3 years. I enlisted in the Army in '89. Shipped to Germany (like Dad). Got hand-picked to deploy to Desert Storm in '91, just because I was going through the process of getting a top-secret clearance. Big bro' and Dad already had that. Dad worked with nukes, back in the day. He never talks about that.
I think you're a great singer! I'm an Oklahoma girl. The first time I ever saw Toby was at ground zero of the Oklahoma City bombing. I'm a nurse and at that time we were still hopeful we'd find survivors. Well, this big, tall guy showed up and he told them to give him a list of what they needed. They did and he went and bought what was on that list. For me, it was love at first sight, that he cared enough about our community to do that. None of the other Oklahoma talent cared enough to do anything like what that great man did. Toby Keith was a legend, a true Patriot! He was a man of faith, so I know he's in a good place. Which I love, but I kinda feel like you don't have a choice as a kid. I love his energy and his music. So many country stars came out in the 90s that were different from Mom's country. Thank you for your service, bro'. I was sent to Kuwait in '91 from Germany. I can't say it was nice! But, at least, Uncle Sam rotated us back to Germany after 3 months! I got back to the billets about 11 pm (2300 hrs for the hardcore individuals). Went down into the basement where the vending machines were. Got a Bud out of the drink machine for $1. Drank that down and got a Hell of a buzz!! Slept like a baby until first call!

I am a 56 yo retired LEO. I have seen so many stars in my career. Some have gone on and some are still with us. As I get closer to the finish line of my life I realize so much how great we have had it in this country. I worked directly with the Toby Keith show and stood outside his bus as a final layer of security for him and his band after the show. This was where they held an after party. As a few fans were allowed to enter the bus, I was impressed by the genuineness of Toby Keith with these fans. The respect that was shown to these people was better than any other show I had seen. I already held a great deal of appreciation for his music being patriotic and inspirational but after that show he became my favorite performer.

I prayed so fervently for Tody. His death has hit me hard. I am 70 and have two children with Jesus, and my only other son had a stroke a year ago. This is hard. Toby is a good man, a strength our nation needed. He has left very big shoes behind.

Beautiful song. I've never cried so much for someone I didn't know. He just seemed like the kind of friend husband father you'd be blessed to have.
I'm 52, and I grew up with my mom's country. Which I love, but I kinda feel like you don't have a choice as a kid. I love his energy and his music. So many country stars came out in the 90s that were different from Mom's country. But it was different for me with him. I can listen to his music all day every day and never tire of it. RIP Toby Keith. My Dad's a Vietnam Vet that went twice. 🙏❤️ I love that song. My Dad was medically retired the 2nd tour. 🇺🇲🙏

It hit me like a ton of bricks, being the things we go through in life's ups and downs the people we meet the family we've known in our lives. Seems there's many songs that touch our hearts and the thoughts in our journey. It hurts very deep as we reminisce many things in our travels. After I heard this song repeating 8 times being I was washing dishes, about the third time I took note of the words and thoughts came flooding in.

Sometimes Music and Movies hit us in weird ways. Such as watching the movie "What dreams may come" omg I've never in my life cried this much after watching this. But I connected. Ya see throughout growing up my sister, brother and I being the youngest never really was anyone's favorite, never got the hugs and affection, I straggled throughout never really had a girl friend until I was 17yrs-old and stayed away because I knew what it's like to have someone in life you think the world of then one day their gone. There's just to much pain, and I know it's a lesson learned and when you get to close to others like I have ya just don't want to go through the intense pain all over again. So today that's why I live alone with my Black lab. it's all the unconditional love I need at this time in life.

Thank you for your service, bro'. I was sent to Kuwait in '91 from Germany. I can't say it was nice! But, at least, Uncle Sam rotated us back to Germany after 3 months! I got back to the billets about 11 pm (2300 hrs for the hardcore individuals). Went down into the basement where the vending machines were. Got a Bud out of the drink machine for $1. Drank that down and got a Hell of a buzz!! Slept like a baby until first call!

I am a 56 yo retired LEO. I have seen so many stars in my career. Some have gone on and some are still with us. As I get closer to the finish line of my life I realize so much how great we have had it in this country. I worked directly with the Toby Keith show and stood outside his bus as a final layer of security for him and his band after the show. This was where they held an after party. As a few fans were allowed to enter the bus, I was impressed by the genuineness of Toby Keith with these fans. The respect that was shown to these people was better than any other show I had seen. I already held a great deal of appreciation for his music being patriotic and inspirational but after that show he became my favorite performer.

I never met him in person, but I knew him through his songs, and yeah, I'm gonna miss him too. It feels like a sucker punch to the gut and so surreal. I've never felt so heartbroken by any country singer's or famous person ever before in my life. Toby made us all feel like he was singing for us too. It's going to take a long time for many of us to accept that he is really gone. My heart breaks for Tricia and their children. How do they learn to accept that your husband, their father is gone forever?

I prayed so fervently for Tody. His death has hit me hard. I am 70 and have two children with Jesus, and my only other son had a stroke a year ago. This is hard. Toby is a good man, a strength our nation needed. He has left very big shoes behind.

I am so sorry for the loss of 2 of your children. My mom said that losing my brother was harder for her to deal with than the death of my dad who she loved dearly. She said that while you always know there may come a time when you outlive your spouse, no one should ever have to bury their child. I'll be praying for your son who had the stroke.
