    • @AlexMarieDIY
      @AlexMarieDIY  3 года назад

      The needle might be hitting the bobbin case or the shuttle hook, so you might want to check that the bobbin is inserted properly, or it could be that the timing of the machine is off. try turning the hand wheel to move the needle up and down slowly to detect if it is hitting anything when going down. In the end, you might need to see a repairman.

    Which brand you prefer?
    ( and the model number?)

    • @AlexMarieDIY
      @AlexMarieDIY  5 лет назад

      for butterfly, the JA2-1 Treadle sewing machine is great for beginners. But if you want something that also does zig-zag stitches, the Singer Heavy duty 44 series is great too. This model featured in the video is alright too, if you need something really simple. see this video for some details.

    • @AlexMarieDIY

      I really can't say, since I don't make wigs. The best option is to test the different settings on some scrap pieces and see which one suits you best. You can also try the different zigzag stitch sizes provided.

      Hello. It could quite a few reasons, bad thread quality, or the wrong tension settings, or improper threading... it's hard to pinpoint. I'll suggest rethreading, then checking tension, then finally trying a different thread or even a new needle.

    Hey I’m back do you think you can help me I need some help my electrical sewing machine was working fine until now When i turn it on it makes a low buzzing/humming noise it never happened until now and the lower stitches are not as tight as they used to be I’ve checked out the tension but I just don’t know what the problem is and I don’t like that sound

    • @AlexMarieDIY
      @AlexMarieDIY  4 года назад

      Hi there. First, full disclaimer, I am not a machine repairman. But I'll advise that you check the troubleshooting section of your user manual first for any solutions. Second, buzzing noise could mean a fault with the motor itself. But things you can quickly check yourself are to make sure there is no thread tied up anywhere in the machine, perhaps restricting movement Also try inserting your bobbin clockwise as I mentioned in the description above.
      Does it still sew even with the noise, I want you to see if you can narrow down which part of the machine the noise is coming from, as that might help you locate and fix the problem. I personally disassemble my own machines because I am handy like that. If you are not comfortable opening the machine yourself, you should take it to a professional.

      Alex Marie DIY thank you so Much 🙏🏾 yes it still sews it’s just wierd cuz this sound is new to me I’ve checked the manual sadly nothing concerning the sound is on there although the sound is quite low you can only hear it when you come close but it’s coming from inside the machine just like as if it’s a tiny little fan blowing or something electrical like that making the noise thanks for the help though it’s gonna be a tad bit hard to get a technician since I am nigerian and I live in Nigeria if any further issues come up I’ll visit a nearby store I have in mind maybe I’ll get some help

      @@AlexMarieDIY it's an electric machine and this is my first time of using it, am used to manual. To reel thread into the reeler is a problem for me. Also it's not sewing at all after threading both up and down. Please help me

      @@labakennadi3362 let's check a few things. If you have a user manual, try plugging the machine as instructed. Make sure the power is plugged, the pedal is plugged, and that the machine if turned on at the switch.
      Follow the video and make sure the bobbin winder is returned back to it's original position after winding. Does the sewing light come on?
      Is it the same butterfly machine as in this video?

      I have used it to sew denim, chinos and quilts, but like most simple machines, it will struggle if you have many layers to sew together. what type of fabric are you considering?

      According to the user manual of this particular model, it only needs a few drops of oil in the shuttle case, where you place the bobbin.

      Hi, can you check to see that the bobbin winder has been returned back to its original position, that can sometimes stop the machine from sewing. Also try turning the hand wheel manually to make sure the needle moves up and down. Hope this helps. Otherwise, you might want to have someone look at it for you or take it back to the seller.
