I bet it is going to be a ktm950 but new. Adventure bikes have become too powerful, honestly who needs an 1190cc adv bike? Ktm 950 set the bar. I hope Husqvarna makes a better version of it
@@HeyAddieImTojo I would say it's like car manufacturers producing cars with 600 horsepower or more. Maybe it's not needed, but it's good to know you have it on tap if you do.
I told my friends the bike that would replace my Africa Twin didn't exist yet. That has just changed. Great video as always, you deserve way more subscribers!
I like it. It's modern and fresh and a nice deviation from the multitude of retros. Just goes to show that there is another way to go, for the future of bike design.
@@TheMarky26 Is the 700 cheaper on parts? Even my africa twin costs about $500 to fix a side faring. The only affordable part on it is the front sprocket :)

@@TheMarky26 I have a KTM 790R broke the rear directional, the whole thing cost 26 dollars, hardly expensive, more internet B.S. plus I haven't had any issues in 3 thousand miles, time will tell, but so far I love it.
The Norden 901 really look awesome; its beautiful! For me, it would all be about seat height & price. Personally, i prefer adventure bikes with 17 & 19 inches wheels as they usually have an accessible seat height between 810-830 mm. The new Tiger 900 GT would be great for me, but its to much expensive. The new Moto Morini X-Cape 650 could be the answer, but i doubt that it would be available in Canada. Lets hope that Suzuki will improve & update their V-Strom 650 XT in 2021.
Looking back on this... 3 years ago! I was far from dreaming I'd be enjoying mine, 3 years down the road... SWEET! Ohh and the SUCATI also made its debut, in the meanwhile. Curious to look back, and see the KTM-890's hadn't come out, and the Triumph Tigers 900 were just arriving. How things have changes since then... WOW! Cheers from PORTUGAL >
This is a motorcycle for me, beautiful design. as soon as it appears, I will sell my triumph tiger 1200 and buy this husky right away. From the visual side a perfect motorcycle, the lines on the tank add character. A great idea with a phone holder. Please do not change anything but produce. We welcome weight at a maximum level of 220kg, the less the better, but everyone knows it :)
It's a beautiful bike and I hope it sounds as good as it looks, but in the end it all comes down to 2 things: price and dealership/service network. Those 2 things alone will determine how well this bike will sell.
Husqvarna Norden Yes !! The right type engine , tuned for smooth power delivery , great style with smart looking integrated protection ! How much ? Cheers
For those of you who don't speak Swedish. Norden means The North, Vitpilen means White Arrow, and Svartpilen means Black Arrow. However, Pilen should be pronounced with a longer i. piilen rather than pillen. The later being one of the Words we use for the male genitalia.
Norden901 is the only enduro bike I'm in love with, and with that I mean if i didn't have any bike in my garage, this is the one I could truly buy instead of other type of bike (fyi I'm a Harley rider and fan)
So many new Adventure bikes coming on the market. Love the look of this one. With all the competition out there, hopefully, it will help to get the prices lower. Good Review, again.
I prefer the Norden, surly will be a big Hit with KTM hitting all the top of the line specs. I wonder if the 790 will just be upgraded to the 890 platform or remain its own segment?
Right then, here goes.. Like those who follow these films, we certainly see the Good, the Crap and f'awful.!? This film was one of very few that was beautifully shot.. crisp and clear.. with a balanced well thought out text, nicely presented and frankly, a pleasure to watch. As a fan of big traillies.. tho' there is no dealer anywhere near me.. I would find them, and frankly, try one and.. buy one with my own money. There now. Congrats to the team and.. thank you. That made my day. WF
Awesome looking bike. When you compare it to the new Tiger 900, the triumph looks distinctly old hat. Really hope it keeps most of the design of the concept.
I like the return of the disc brake guard on the front wheel, Yamaha made and used them for years, and then suddenly stopped. The front disc is the vunerable part, to chipping from rocks and other objects off-road,
New Ducati’s Desert X Scrambler looks very interesting... Looks quite close to Proper Cool - Man’s Machine. Machine which could go to Town today - and cross deserts Tomorrow... I Like That...
This bike is bang on, it's all there, ready to go, with Dakar styling it's a winner, the new KTM headlight setup looks crap , and the vertical LEDs make the bike look to narrow for road use.
Beauty is a matter of taste. Make not mistake: the base is the KTM 790 Adventure R. Since Euro 5 will be in place from 1.Jan 2020 for all newly homologated bikes, the 790 Euro 4 engine can no longer be used for a new model. So they simply put the Duke 890 Euro 5 engine in a 790 Adv R chassi and redesign the exteriors. Euro 5 also means that the 790 with it's Euro 4 engine can't be sold any longer after 31.Dec 2020, KTM will also need to use the 890 engine. Sadly Husky add also a lot of extra weight: more plastic and crash bars. When the 790 Adv was released everyone shouted "Finally a light mid size adventure bike with twin cylinder engine!", so I don't really understand the enthusiasm that this model now gets!
Every Adventure bike should have the option to mount a sidecar. The reason I say this is due to my luck of finding a Russian Dnepr MT-11 sidecar bike in a barn, buying it, and restoring it to operating condition. Despite it being the single wheel drive model it's an awesome off road bike. The MT-16 is the full time 2-wheel drive model. The reason it's so good are the road conditions outside major cities in Russia. Just riding on them is an adventure! They also use them on snow and ice covered roads as well. If you don't mind riding at lower speeds it's fine for on road use as well. Why would anyone be worried about high speed operation while on an adventure anyway? You're there to enjoy everything around you, not speed through it in a hurry to get somewhere. That sidecar is an asset for hauling gear as well.
The Husqvarna Norden 901 is tough looking beauty. Hopefully it comes out in production as the concept bike. It will for sure be a first choice adventure bike.
This is all good, but the shareholders document announced norden 501 twin is possibly the sweet spot. If they make as announced 401/390 Enduro and Norden/adv, 501/490 twin Enduro and Norden/adv, they will take most of the adv and dual sport market.
I feel that the Norden is like a modernized KTM 950 Adventure with the nicer aesthetics of Husqvarna styling. I will own this bike and it will make a great stablemate to my 950!
Adventure bikes don't usually do it for me. I'm with you on KTMs styling. Not my cup of tea. Too insecty, and definitely too orange. Someone must like it ! Now the Norden ( does make me think of Denis Norden of TV dry wit fame, so maybe I'd give it a different name ) actually looks pretty good for an adventure bike. The headlight is WAY better than KTM insect eyes. I quite like the shapes and panels. Think I'd have it in plain metallic red. Now what do I prefer Triumph Tiger or Norden ? hmmmmm.....

Have not felt this passionately materialistic in a long time. Agree with others, dont change a thing. But...that will not please everyone. For touring a large tank is a good thing. But lookswise it looks amazing as it is... How about an Eco riding mode, for those long distance rides, will get more miles out of each litre, and easy to change when you need the power. ?
I am absolutely going to buy a Norden if it is anything like that prototype.
The look of this takes adventure bikes to the next level. I hope they don't change a thing.
