Lol the look on your face when he mentioned soap! 😂
We use velvet unscented soap, it's not acidic like normal soaps so it's harmless to the water and the things that eat it.
On the Murray River it's great for catching 4inch plus Shrimp!
I'm in lower SE Vic and some of the Forrest insect's are crazy looking especially the wood roaches but we don't get too many colourful fish, gudgeon's ect are always nice but they aren't tropical here.
We do however have the green spotted eel which females get to over 10ft long!

Great little documentary mate! it was a fun trip, I was happy to show you what the dry season brings for our aquatic life, it can be very harsh for them in the dry.

Very nicely done! Attenborough-esque. I've enjoyed getting back into the hobby and the amount of quality RUclips content there is around it. Keep creating!

You two dudes are so good together when you do these vids, as is the video "Mater breeder" and it is so important that younger boys and girls get to see these vids when you show all sides of the hobby. Cheers Sweden, keep it going guys!

That is the aim, I actually took them out there on purpose to show them how it can change vastly from dry to wet, we will go back out in the new year after all the rains to show the difference, it's surprising how some of those small creeks change and are abundant with fish, but this was a good trip to see what the structure of the creeks when they have no water as when the rains come there is no clarity to the water, most are a coffee colour.

Really fascinating video. That lizard that you zoomed in on near the end was pretty neat. I never knew the dry ups could be so drastic there, i would have thought like a trickle of flow, but not creeks gone fish dead and its a field now.

We used to have a blue tongue lizard that lived in our backyard - I have to say it's poo is still the worst thing I've ever smelt in my entire life - including off chicken, off fish and industrial waste! Hahaha

We did the same when we stayed on the Murray River but best bait found was cheese! Being English I've fished with cheese before the locals when asked couldn't sort us out bait but by god the cheese was king!!
