WrestlingsPremier I wasn’t a fan of his title reign, it put me off wrestling for a while, honestly they should have given the title to booker t when he debut on Smackdown at least he was a world champion if you count the WCW title in 2001. The only good thing that JBL’s title reign accomplished was the big john cena push.
During Eddie's memorial on RAW, seeing him shed tears was heartbreaking. Even during the interviews, he said that if it weren't for Eddie, he wouldn't have been in the main picture. Cheers to both men.
IMO he was the only heel that fit the John Cena puzzle. If it wasnt for JBL , cena would have never had a launch pad. Anyway, JBL always made everyone looke good. He can put anyone over. And his in ring wrestling is fluid af for a tall heavy built guy.

In many ways Baron Corbin is a modern JBL (ex football player, similar build & love for playing the bad guy character), but JBL was actually entertaining, that's the big difference.

JBL's 280 WWE title reign was great. His classic feud with Eddie made him an top star, main eventer, and the top heel on Smackdown. He made Smackdown an enjoyable to watch with his larger than life personality and amazing mic skills. JBL is without a doubt one of WWE's all time greatest heels.

I really enjoyed this title reign. I was at one of Bradshaws first appearances as Justin Hawk Bradshaw with Zeb Colter as his Manager. I always popped for the Clothesline from hell and his APA run with Farooq was great too. He's an imposing figure & his powerbomb was just as vicious as the Clothesline from hell. It was an enjoyable run imo

He lost the title a month later, but JBL won for a fluke. Never really pinned Eddie or defeated him physically.

I personally believe JBL had a very solid run with the title. For everyone please keep in mind this was a time where the brand split was in effect having different ppvs for the shows and smackdown had a fair lack of roster. JBL fought undertaker, booker t, eddie guerrero, big show, and kurt angle through his reign. We had the charlie haas storyline with dawn marie and miss jackie. the tag team division was really lacking on smackdown too. Rene Dupree & kenzo suzuki were tag champs feuding with rvd & rey mysterio for quite a while. Cena had a pretty solid best out of five feud with booker t becoming us champion but why did he have to face carlito's manager on a ppv. Cruiserweight division was decent. This was a period where smackdown had to combat with two previous better years and 2004 was just weird. I think besides triple h burying main event of raw this time we did see randy orton win the world heavyweight championship at that time. raw tag team division while average was better than smackdown with la resistance, edge & benoit, but the real shining highlight of raw was the intercontinental scene with christian, jericho, and the rise of shelton benjamin. Overall I think we all remember this time on smackdown all about jbl's reign but to me at the time jbl was one of the best parts of smackdown but that's just my take

He was the only reason I had any interest in smackdown back then. He was one of my favorites wrestler and came from one of my favorite tag team. He was one of the best heels of all time and he was perfect for that title. His reign was great and it made him even better. It was a shame it was his only reign.

I think besides triple h burying main event of raw this time we did see randy orton win the world heavyweight championship at that time. raw tag team division while average was better than smackdown with la resistance, edge & benoit, but the real shining highlight of raw was the intercontinental scene with christian, jericho, and the rise of shelton benjamin. Overall I think we all remember this time on smackdown all about jbl's reign but to me at the time jbl was one of the best parts of smackdown but that's just my take

JBL had a good run and was one of the best heels of his time
*I always liked this title reign in hindsight. Bradshaw played a fantastic heel champion, and given his run as an asskicker in the APA it wasn't really hard for me to believe. If Lesnar can cross to the UFC and become a champ there, then who's to say another big dude can't do something somewhat similar if he actually wanted to?*
As a teen, we really hated this guy. Now on my 30s, oh boy he was probably the only best heel during ruthless aggression. He was definitely the bane of my existence growing up.
He was a great heel and had a cabinet stable...a WRESTLING....GOOOODAHH!!
He was the only reason I had any interest in smackdown back then. He was one of my favorites wrestler and came from one of my favorite tag team. He was one of the best heels of all time and he was perfect for that title. His reign was great and it made him even better. It was a shame it was his only reign.
JBL set a lot of standards as a heel title holder during this time. Couldn’t stand him as a kid 😂 but his character was very well played

For those old enough to remember JBL is Arguably one of Smackdowns best Champion Heels of all time. The whole gimmick was Genius and he made me definitely despise him to the fullest...Dont get me started when he started calling himself a "Wrestling God" lol

I would still love to see Paul London's tag team run (Billy Kidman, 2004 + the split - Brian Kendrick 2005-2007 i think it was) and why they weren't more iconic as tag teams.
I would also love the MNM story, particularly the huge brawl at Judgement Day 2006 which didn't really lead to anything lol
9:23 most random group huh.. somebody missed the attitude era. All former Ministry members, even JBL. I remember watching this entire plot unfurl, back when I really watched lol
