  • Join Tom, Ob, and Johnny as they attempt to clamber their way to the peak of the looming mountain range of boxes that rose up while they were away in Louisville. Run time, item quality, level of inebriation... many new heights are reached in this installment of DtC.
    BOILERPLA... ER, GENERAL INFO:
Tom, Deb, and Ob would like to thank everyone who have been kind enough to send in gifts. Seriously, you guys are just the best.
I'd like to thank each and every one of you who take the time to watch DtC, and am very grateful to everyone who takes even more time out of their day to comment. In a perfect world Tom or Ob would be able to engage with everyone in the comment section, but alas the world is far from perfect. Tom doesn't know how (and refuses to learn) and Ob is something of a Luddite.
    FAQ & A:
Q: I have a burning question about something in the video! What should I do?!
A: An email sent directly to Tom is the best way to get your question answered, because while he most definitely reads each and every one of your comments, he hasn't quite gotten the hang of replying to them in the comment section, and is not likely to in the foreseeable future. Or ever. Seriously, he still calls RUclips "the U-TOOBZ".
    Tom's personal email is: herrwittmann@gmail.com
You can also call him if you prefer (856-866-8733) between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM, EST. This may be slightly more difficult because he's forever running around away from his desk, but it's worth a shot.
Q: I have an amusing anecdote, scathing criticism, or heartfelt compliment that I deeply need to express and I require / demand / long for a personalized response! What should I do?
    A: See "A" above.
    Again, Tom's email is: herrwittmann@gmail.com

I having been mulling over what to write about this video. Amazing video! Fathers’s collection is a example to us all. The man’s self discipline, good taste and faith resulted in a world class collection from a man of limited means: a priest’s stipend.
Those who complain that militaria is too expensive, including myself, should learn from this. How much have we spent on our vices and non-essentials in the last month?
Bless you Father and have a happy retirement.

What a bummer. From now on I'm watching you boss. Costly mistakes. Not upset and still want to collect more than ever. Thanks guys for your information and great videos. Beware if you haven't owned the real thing it's easy to be scammed, there are some really good fakes on the market.

1:26:05 As a German WW1 and WW2 photo seller for 23 years, I'm seeing the negative impact on the hobby when we lose the veteran collectors. These guys knew what things were, knew what they wanted and would pay for it.
Today's new collectors are only collecting what they see in the newest WW2 movie or WW2 mini series on tv and it's damaging parts of the hobby. Example: The Tannenberg memorial in East Prussia. Selling photos or postcards of it always brought excellent money up until about 7 or 8 years ago. Now they are bascially worthless. I blame hollywood because you can't name a recent WW2 movie that featured anything about the Tannenberg memorial. History lost, very sad.
I wonder what the price increases are on Army Air Force items since the masters of the air series began and how much critical history from it will fall by the wayside because it wasn't featured in the series.
It's also on the newer collectors to learn!

Could it be gau marked chained ss dagger cross guards were marked as such to honor & attribute the SS members' previous service in the SA? The traditions in the German military seemed to always harken to early days when possible.

Dachau swords but you wont show holocaust items? So confused. Then you shouldnt show the items produced by slave labor in the concentration camps either to be fair. Not trying to be a butthead but you are admiring the wrong items in this case. Honor the people who made these items too. Like I said not trying to be rude, just a observation. Love the videos, keep it up.

Why won’t you show the Star of David? You’ll show the swastika and all of the Nazi symbolism but not that? I think most people with a brain accept that showing these items doesn’t mean you agree with Nazi ideology and to not show the Star of David I think is wrong. Good, bad or otherwise it’s also a part of that history and it deserves to be shown so that people don’t forget it, so that they don’t forget that Jews were forced to identify themselves with yellow stars of David in their chests, especially now that todays liberals are so Anti-Semitic

@@thilgu Ah yes items produced by slave labor in a concentration camp is totally different.... not hardly my friend, it is still a product of genocide. I have plenty of camp produced items in my own collection so I am definitely not offended by this topic. I am just pointing out the hypocrisy.
