How are lucky are we that we live in this generation to witness all this..! These guys played this 6years ago. And now here we are..! Cuz a kid from Brooklyn got his dance with his date.!
As Valerie mentioned, Glen Miller is a great place to start. There are other Band Leaders of the Swing period: Tommy Dorsey. Harry James. Benny Goodman. Artie Shaw. Duke Ellington. Jimmy Dorsey
So much magic and love in this song. Especially when you realize this was originally aired as our troops came home victorious from years of brutal warfare in 1945. Magic.
The young man who initially plays the trumpet is very impressive and talented. The entire performance is brilliant. Excellent job on covering this classic piece of music. And I appreciate the effort. Thank you all for sharing your work with us. Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
the moment when you realized music back in the 40s-90s are SO MUCH better than like 60% music nowadays you might be very old or have an old soul like me.
nearly everyone only knows this song cos of the heartbreaking scene at the end of endgame, but this is such a great song so much heart i love this song 3000
Just wanted to let all of you guys know, Jonah (the trumpet player) was 15 when he played this. The same age as Peter Parker you all are comparing him to. 😅
my music teacher told us that we can recommend songs for one of our performances, and i recommended this song. its been a few weeks since that concert and we didnt perform it... i am still very sad i couldnt play it.
That is probably the best version I have heard of this classic by Sammy Cahn and Jules Styne. The lead trumpet on the first part is amazing talent....looks very young; and the fill in vocalist was just great. The band, more than great. Where was this performed? First Plymouth church???? where.....
That was mildly infuriating that the crowd clapped mid performance. It's usually a disrespectful act to applaud during a performance since it washes out the sound of the performers and their instruments. 🎭
Com todo o respeito ao arranjo e interpretação da Orquestra deste vídeo, mas considero "It's Been a Long,Long Time"com Harry James e his Orchestra, gravada pela Columbia,em 1945,a gravação orquestral definitiva. Good Times.
salute the captain, he did it, he got his dance...
Ohh you gonna make me cry now
Bye. This song needs way more respect
Yessir 🙋♂️
Crazy son of a bitch did it. But now he is 87 years old...😢😢

Sometimes I want to go back to 1945, but then I remember I’m gay
This part in endgame genuinely made me cry, just like the rest of the movie.😢😢
So much magic and love in this song. Especially when you realize this was originally aired as our troops came home victorious from years of brutal warfare in 1945. Magic.
Me: Thinks, Cap finally got what he wanted
Also me: cries every time I hear this song
Don’t cry, it’s a beautiful song.
I gotta thank the movie for making it popular but it’s a song that has been around much before captain America.
The kid playing the trumpet kinda looks like peter parker
He really does remind me of him lol
maybe he played trumpet in band
Iron Man: Band practice, was it?
Abigail C lol I play a trumpet currently

This most beautiful interpretation of this music I have ever heard.

@@Bebe-rn2fh there’s two parts to the song with a trumpet. You can play it in this key, or the key Louis Armstrong played it in.

Woooooooooowwwwww, what a beautiful melody, the original song is by Kitty Kallen. I'd like this song to be played on my Funeral

Not gonna lie, came here from endgame. But this song is so beautifully written. Annd performed here so well.
"I can do this all day."
Capt. America
Loveee
That was mildly infuriating that the crowd clapped mid performance.
It's usually a disrespectful act to applaud during a performance since it washes out the sound of the performers and their instruments. 🎭
Yeah, this is jazz brass. It’s practically normal for any audience to cheer when a solo happens.

Who ever watched endgame will understand why this song is amazing
I didn't watch it,still think this song is spectacular
Bruh it's amazing regardless

How about a song being relevant 75 years later?
I wonder if I've ever time traveled...
Gosh I hope 'she' found someone.
Why does the trumpet remind me of Linguini?

this is great but whats with the camera showing the trumpets during the horn solo

Anyone has the sheet for this?
Little do they know this would be a song for a soldier
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo
This came out long before endgamw
Steve got his dance with Peggy 😢

The kid with the trumpet would make a great Peter Parker, the one after the amazing spider man, but before Tom Holland
