It's back! (For those unaware, there was an issue with copyright from the original song owner they'd bought the rights from. There was a mutual solution though, so now it's back)
I'm glad that both sides were able to come to an agreement to allow this video to go back up. It's a great song to help bring in more views to both barbershop at large as well as the original video and creator. It's a win for all parties involved, and hopefully there's no hard feelings left over.
4:45 That gradual build is so damn locked its absurd, especially the fifth between Tony and Andrew. Then Alex absolutely demolishes a high B, while Drew makes G# look like NOTHING. I CAN'T.
Huge risk, excellent concept, brilliant execution, gigantic reward, both for the quartet and for us as the audience. Lots of Easter eggs in there. Bravo and thank you, friends!
What a great performance - Taking shots at yourselves while also demonstrating just what talented singers and performers you are is sheer brilliance. Thanks!
8:36 I'm almost convinced the entire crowd shouted "Wow!" as a collective here, which I don't think I've heard as a reaction to any other moment in barbershop so far. And I might've legitimately screamed if I didn't have my roommate in at the time, but I was definitely slapping my bed and quiet yelling when I first heard it. What a bewildering moment amidst a shockingly high number of Bb4 and higher belts this contest.
No performance of a song has capitvated me as much as this one has. I must have seen it 50+ times now. This has blown my mind. The entire group was incredible, but Andrew really blew my mind there. My mouth dropped to the floor, and I have shown this to all my friends who have been in music classes with me. All of them have had the same reaction. Really just an incredible performance. 10/10. The amount of skill of everyone in the group just leaves me in awe.
OH how I wish I could attend a concert like this!! My Dad sang in a quartet for years. We were always at the rehearsals and running around on the stage. Such a wonderful "50's" time.! WHAT A MARVELOUS PERFORMANCE OUTSTANDING!!!
its returned! absolutely adore this performance, it was originally taken down due to copyright issues, but it looks like they've worked it out. my favorite song of the convention, glad to see it back up.
Honestly as a spiritual successor to spider-farm as a self referential comedic number by a top singing group It lives up to the hype personally it’s really fantastic all around :)
That little two-liner zing at the start of the first verse is so. damn. clean. And I promise I'm not turning into a comment stalker, it's just too easy to say good things about your pieces. ...I'm not helping my case.
Haven't seen anyone else mention it, but has Tony been trained as a pro wrestler? Everyone else doing the prat falls hasn't been doing it right, Tony's the first one who actually took a proper back bump
Can someone explain what is happening at 1:05 ? Is that just vowel matching or did the bari actually jump up a fifth? His voice on "and" changes timbre for only that vowel
If you mean on the word “stand” I (baritone) sing the same not in both chords, no move. Bass swipes up a 5th, lead swipes down a 5th. So just a different inversion of the same chord, with tenor and bari holding across. I don’t think I changed timbres? 🤔
@@DrewWheatoni think he means on "and" in "singing high *and* loud". It sounds like you go up a fifth, but the note has a very different sound from the surrounding vocals and protrudes kind of suddenly just for the "a" vowel.
@@DrewWheatonand by the way, great performance and congrats on your medal :) I only recently got into barbershop but this is one of my favorite performances, im considering going to watch the competition next year as well!
@@DrewWheatonas @EAOO pointed out, I actually meant "and" on "singing high and loud". (Not "and" on "stand", i see the confusion lol) Thank you so much for your reply, I look up to you a lot!
A song that is just a way to show the world "Hey here is what our vocal ranges are" and it absolutely slaps.
It's like the new version of "You Gotta Change Parts."
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's back!
(For those unaware, there was an issue with copyright from the original song owner they'd bought the rights from. There was a mutual solution though, so now it's back)
The tag is a Tim Waurick summoning ritual
I'm still waiting for tim's version of this LMAO

Andrew’s Bb4 at the end shocked the living daylights out of me 😭 Eb2 to Bb4 in mostly chest is nothing to sleep about either. Insane range
Keep in mind as well, he went down to B1 in the intro of Trolley Song this year. Almost unfair how much he's able to cover.
@@mowlowl YEAH I HEARD ABOUT THAT! It's absolutely unfair 😭
WELCOME BACK NO ONE SINGS HIGHER THAN ME (PARODY)!!!
Tony probably did a fall to convince them to put the video back 😂
4:31 "Did I forget to mention that I'm classically trained? 👉👈🥺" LOL
My favorite part LMAO
He's so cute 😭
Dang all these barbershop singers are dropping like flies onstage 😂
Love it! 11:35 pm
"All you gotta do to win is fall on stage" or so I hear
1:57, I love that Martin's hair legacy lives on to this day
Lol

Welcome back.. thank you
Alex's false tag was amazing. BUT ANDREWS Bb4 POST WAS INSANE. Never expected that type of range from him he always seems so stoic when they sing
LET'S GOOOO WE ARE SO BACK
Huge risk, excellent concept, brilliant execution, gigantic reward, both for the quartet and for us as the audience. Lots of Easter eggs in there. Bravo and thank you, friends!
Why was it a huge risk ? I don't know much about how the judges score.
@ up until this point, comedy had not been part of their brand. Working against expectations is a challenge, but they delivered without question!
They fr singing in 3.5 octave from Eb2 to Bb5
They weren't lying 😂
missed a golden opportunity to sing "These bass parts are below me"
Loved it
Oh my God.
I thought this too!
@@avbartholomew love your arrangements! Thanks for inspiring me so much
On second thought I think that’s the joke. I am slow

First Take doing comedy was not on my BHS 2024 bingo card, but I’m so glad it happened! These guys SMASHED it! ❤️🔥
That final post from the bass simply amazed me. Probably the most astonished I've ever been at a single moment in barbershop.

I love the fact that the crowd and the Performing Act is almost always so in sync. The inside jokes are varied and understood. So much fun!
IT'S BACK LET'S GO THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. This is just such a fun and entertaining performance.
this was the song that did it for me, I really thought they would've won it all but 2nd place is damn good and so was this performance!
They appeared to be thrilled with 2nd, but look for them to win in Denver.
@@dalejarvis2126 The possibility of a battle to the death with Squeezy? Hook it into my veins!
@@joshwmiltonmanhonestly though! This competition is getting harder and harder each year! There are so many quartets who have a shot at winning! ❤
So great to see that you guys figured things out!! Such a cool arrangement and also made me discover the original version, thats also hilarious
7:19 E♭2 (Andrew)
8:40 B♭5 (Alex)
How many octaves?
Oh my god.... That's almost too clever
wow xD
3 1/2, man

that Bb4 at the end made me shout holy shit out loud, what in the hell
AH OKAY IT'S BACK!!!
Excellent harmony, funny, great all around.
we are so back baby
Incredible 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Since when was Andrew’s range that good this is insane
Indeed. We are all consistently quite annoyed. Haha
@@DrewWheaton yeah, the second he shouted “hey” in the song I knew something was gonna happen his voice was way to high for a regular bass
I can't stop listening to this song!
No messing around these guys are perfectly great and musically wonderful. Hurray
4:43 one of the cleanest bits!
First take needs to pull comedy into their songs more often! This was gold!
the set up at 8:00 is gold
gotta love that fall :)...
I honestly don't know how he did that safely
I really hope he had some padding in his suit jacket!
According to Drew Tony got lessons from a wrestling coach and he had padding in his clothes
And was told by said coach “stop saying you want it to be safe. There is nothing safe about this.”

its returned!

my favorite song of the convention, glad to see it back up.
They recorded a version of the tag with the original songwriter, it's on FB
