If you pay $92,000 MSRP, you’re looking at $100,000 after TTL and other charges. If you drive the truck into the ground over 20 years, that vehicle will cost you $5,000 a year, $6,000 if you add financing costs. You can double that for full coverage insurance, maintenance, repairs and fuel. So you’re looking at $250,000 over 20 years if fuel, repairs and insurance premiums somehow defy inflation. The financing costs, insurance, tax and maintenance on the average home would be less over 20 years. You can have a Super Duty or house. Crazy. These car makers are smoking something.
I just paid off my 2020 Ford Edge Titanium and the night before I made my last payment my dealership called me. They were asking me to trade in my vehicle. My vehicle was at 0% financing for five years, the new vehicles best rates are now at 0%. The problem is the vehicles are grossly over priced. Job security and consumer debt is going bankrupt a lot of people. Something has to give or we are all in a lot of trouble. Thank you for all the videos and I thrilled to see a young man doing well.
The price of anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay. And apparently plenty of people are still willing to pay that or the prices would drop. I for one know of one person that will never! Never! Pay that amount
I paid 17,000.00 for my 1999 F-150 regular cab 5 speed with manual windows etc in 1998.3 years ago it sheared the pin on the oil pump drive shaft and spun three rod bearings at 286,000 miles so looked at new ones for 50 thousand and up,had a good laugh, went home and set about rebuilding the entire truck.literally.about 6,000.00 and probably 120 hours of labor later and I have a completely rebuilt 4.2 that runs better than new, uses no oil or anything, new radiator, starter, alternator, AC compressor, water pump, coil pack, tensioner and idler pulleys, belt, fan clutch, clutch assembly, transmission fluid, transmission seals, new pinion, axle, carrier bearings and seals in the rear end, new upper and lower ball joints, brake pads, rotors, brake shoes, all four shocks, new tires and some other stuff and most of it has a lifetime warranty.I love my old truck and honestly I get more compliments on it than I think I would a new one.now motorcycles are another story.I need to thin a few of those out but good used low mileage bikes are cheap and insurance is cheap and I like riding so I'll probably be buying, selling and swapping bikes till I die, the only time I need a vehicle is when I can't ride my bike anyway which isn't very often.
I’m just waiting for the plethora of reliability complaints to hit the Internet regarding the four-cylinder turbo engine, in the 2024 Tacomas . There’s already starting to be quite a few complaints about the transmission
That’s what I’m waiting for. I have a 2017 Tacoma that I want to trade in for a 2018 tundra. Just waiting to see if all the people are wanting to go back to the 3rd gen tacos
I agree on the nissan trucks. I'm not a big nissan fan, most of their cars are junk (cvt issues mainly) but it seems like their pickups are built way better - and compared to all the other trucks they are a good deal.
I just bought and sold my last Ford 4 months ago. When you have a problem and the dealer says they can’t fix it due to a Ford “stop order” it’s time to switch brands. It was in the rear axle too-I mean WTH Ford.
Totaled my truck in '23, in the middle of high prices an interest rates.Wanted another F150, but got the finger from these ridiculous prices. Got a 4runner
My 2005 Tacom needs a frame restoration. With the exception of the frame its in great shape. A frame restoration is 10s of thousands of dollars cheaper than the overpriced new ones.
Note, when FORD "counts" the "F" series for ALL their trucks it's the entire universe added up. Went for a walk today (very low traffic volumes in my community, and I counted 7 brand new Broncos being driven, is Ford giving those things away? I don't want one, but man oh man they were everywhere!
As long as people are willing to spend and finance trucks at these insane prices, automakers and dealers are going to continue to keep their prices high or even higher.
I been looking at square body Chevy's.a short bed in good condition is 20,000 and up some with an LS swap are 80 to 100,000 depending on the quality of the build.
I got a Frontier Pro4X , 2023, with 10k miles for just under 39k about 5 months ago. Probably could get a better deal today but I also couldn’t wait any longer after being on sidelines for 3 years and work that I do.
I was pushed to buying a new car. My 13 year old minivan was on the fritz. I was in the market for a 2 or 3 year old low milage used minivan, All of the used Minivans were 5 to 7K less than a new MSRP Minivan with less warranty. Coupled with the end of year sale incentives, I ended up buying a new 2025 Minivan out the door price less than MSRP, but I am still not too happy because I feel I should have been able to buy a used one for less. Used prices are so high.
I have a 1997 Nissan pick up truck that I’ve had for seven years after having F250’s which I used to pull a horse trailer. I paid $2400 for it. In seven years, I have put a set of tires on it, changed the oil on schedule, and replaced the radiator (in my front yard by myself cost$46). My full coverage insurance is $276 for six months. It is what I need. It has a ladder rack on top which I used to transport 16 foot lumber. You just can’t fix stupid…. I have better ways to spend my money. I 💕 my truck.
If people would stop buying at these ridiculous prices, the cost would deflate. Ram is gonna start -35% here soon due to the dealers not having enough room to bring in 2025’s. I think Toyota, Ford and GM will eventually jump on the bandwagon. Nice update as usual untamed 👍👍👍
I bought in January of 2020, right before the world went stupid. Got a 2019 F-150 XLT for 14k off a 54k sticker price. I will drive it until the wheels fall off before paying these insane prices
I remember way back in the 1900s almost no one owned a truck. the few people who did use them as daily drivers were weirdos no one wanted to be around. the types of monster trucks people buy now are the type that you had to go the coliseum back in the 80s to see - they were usually driving across a row of crushed cars. it's similar to how the food we now eat on a daily basis started out as crap you'd buy at a circus or carnival.
If they do decide to liquidate these trucks it will likely be done for someone out of country so as to not show us (the dumb US consumer) how low they can go. They must sustain the paradigm, imo.
What has happened is the government has pressured manufacturers to produce EV’s. That experiment has failed and manufacturers have raised the prices on the vehicle’s that people do want to cover their loses on EV’s.
THANKS FOR THE UP DATE.... PEOPLE STAY STRONG LET THOSE OVER PRICED TRUCKS SIT...... MID & FULL SIZE RANGE $30k-$59k NO MORE. BE WISE AND SMART GOD BLESS
Cost of giving auto workers payraise is just part of cost production and its passed down to the consumers. Which is why they're reluctant to lower the prices on their vehicles.
This would have happened years ago if the government hadn’t stepped in and bailed the car companies out! The cost of trucks are way overpriced! The excuse on the price tags it’s the technology! It’s a joke! All dealerships need a taste of their own medicine!
Preach! It's gotten out of hand. I don't drive trucks but GMC hasn't sold a new vehicle under $30K in years and Chevy has stopped making economy cars. Taxpayers bailed the auto industry out and now we're getting the horns. Late model Repos go to auction, get bought by the same dealerships that sold them new and get resold as used.
bought 2 new 2024 GMC serria 1500 for 62k each, a white and a red one and pay cash too, my red one is in my garage in storage and have only 25 miles on it, will not drive it until my white one wears out,not going to license it or insurance it until i'm ready to drive it in 5 years or so, if i wait 5 years to buy the same truck, it probably cost over 100k, so i did it to save money
I bought my first brand new vehicle in 2000 I was 22 years old, it was a Dodge Ram, regular cab 8 foot box 2500, gas, tow and plow package for $26,697 my payments were just shy $400 a month. My newest vehicle is 2017 sequoia and I am so disappointed in the Toyota line up and not to mention there prices!! There out to lunch!!
Buying a new truck for anything other than doing work which necessitates it is stupid. Get a 30+ year old pickup with 300k miles and rebuild what needs rebuilt. You’ll be out less money, parts and service will be cheap, and it will do anything you need
Good luck sourcing parts that are worth a damn. All the Chinese aftermarket junk is horrible and most of the time doesn't work out of the box. I have a 22 year old truck and my patience has worn thin with this.
Retired Millionaire here and I want a New car. I am way too cheap to throw money away on these crap vehicles. I plan to pay Cash, but I want to know "who in their right mind thinks paying over $1,000 per month for 72 months is ok?" Where are people getting the money? I will most likely get a Mazda SUV Hybrid witht the Toyota engine. Even these are expensivee with dealer markups. Are people really this Friggin stupid?
Great information as always. Thanks. Have you heard the highly probable rumor that Stellantis is going to cut 30% from RAM truck MSRPs in the second quarter of 2025? What are your thoughts on this and how the other truck manufacturers will respond?
I just payed mine off in one payment. Whatever is going on in the economy is not good. I got a ford ranger nothing like these luxury pick ups….. at least I got that out of way. Were do for a recession but it seems like it’s going off a cliff this time. Look at the prices in these vehicles!
And after all this, I will continue to be the exact opposite of what dealerships want their customers to be. The last two times I’ve been to a dealership I got my best friend $15,000 off MSRP on a 3500 RAM and my mom a pre-owned car that they tried everything to say it wasn’t in their system. Both were pristine and top of the line, but they lacked important features. Luckily both had every possible option after an ebay haul and a couple cold ones!
What do you think with the latest hurricane areas and then fire damage in California. All of these vehicles will have to be replaced that got destroyed. So demand will go up. High demand means prices may go up as inventory drops. So......?
I bought my 2016 Toyota Tundra LIMITED Crew Cab New in September 2015 for $42,000. I now have 26,000 miles last oil change at dealership. I guess I’m not trading anytime soon . Retired 7 yrs ago and this truck should last for awhile.👍
That opening statement really hit me. Americans are trying to correct their debt, by taking out more debt. I couldn’t agree more. Most people don’t have a money tree, they are just digging a deeper hole.
My in-laws were furious when I bought a brand new Tundra in late ‘19 to replace my ‘03 RAM. I love them to death, but I have to laugh because I was ahead of the curve for a change.
I think you’re correct about the May to August time frame as best to buy in 2025. I’m curious about why you think dealers are hoping for a bailout of some sort? Do you mean dealers are hoping to benefit indirectly from some sort of bailout to OEMs? Or do you think dealers are expecting some sort of unprecedented direct bailout?
Great video and very informative. The “stealerships” need to fail and get spanked for the predatory behavior. But let’s be honest, the fish stinks from the head down. The factory has a part in this and allowed the retail + markup to go unchecked. Pavlov’s dog theory must be implemented!
Ford works with a 3% profit margin today. That’s it. Start with that to understand what they can do without going out of business forever or begging for bailouts from federal tax revenue. The real problem are the costs the manufacturers have to absorb from their materials suppliers and from fuel transportation costs.
When money was cheap, customers were buying bigger and bigger (and OEM's cut out none sellers to meet quarterlies). Now money isnt cheap, and consumers flip in a second, but it takes OEM's years to adapt to the new normal. Any OEM that would have tried to get ahead of this would have been KILLED when they were not maximizing profits for that quarter.
Correct. Because not everyone sits at home complaining about the world. Some of us figure out how to deal with whatever is thrown at us, but you have to be strong enough to put the phone down for at-least 5 minutes per day.

When the government puts their hands in industries , pricing always goes up and the quality always goes down.
Yep
Actually this happens when you put Union ‘employees’ in the mix….
@ are unions private organizations?
I wish Subaru would get into the pickup game in a serious manner…. V6 and bare bones.
I agree, too much for a new truck
What part of May-August did you miss?
@@DannyFyffeare you autistic?
I agree on the nissan trucks. I'm not a big nissan fan, most of their cars are junk (cvt issues mainly) but it seems like their pickups are built way better - and compared to all the other trucks they are a good deal.
Absolutely love this top notch quality content! Salute!
Automakers and dealers know they're getting a bailout.
As long as people are willing to spend and finance trucks at these insane prices, automakers and dealers are going to continue to keep their prices high or even higher.
The only way to get back at these maggot employee cons at these dealerships is DON'T BUY!!!!!
People will continue to buy though. They never learn. Just like people who continue to vote for Democrats. They never learn.
I'd rather buy a classic for 10k all day long and put a Sirius Radio in it. They're clearly going out of business from greed
I been looking at square body Chevy's.a short bed in good condition is 20,000 and up some with an LS swap are 80 to 100,000 depending on the quality of the build.
Why is consumer greed ok. Why is Union greed ok? Oh wait, that doesn't help your agenda. Nevermind.
Gunna wait until May or June to see what happens then..
I got a Frontier Pro4X , 2023, with 10k miles for just under 39k about 5 months ago. Probably could get a better deal today but I also couldn’t wait any longer after being on sidelines for 3 years and work that I do.
I just bought a 25 Ram 1500. Love it and the discounts totaled over 12K. A steal!!
Awesome man, congrats! Hope you’re enjoying it. 🙌
im never buying a car or truck with a turbo
I'm never buying a vehicle with a GDI engine.
Yes, 2025 looks pretty bad for the auto industry.
Rust estate. Rolling rubber bankruptcies. That is the new auto truck market. In two words ... money suicide.😂
About a year ago the Tundra limited was 78k at my local dealership.
That’s with the hybrid IForce Max. Still the case today, the one I showed was the non-hybrid.
I 💕 my truck.
dealers in my area are NOT dropping prices at all on trucks. Still outrageously expensive at $80k plus.
Go get em my man
If people would stop buying at these ridiculous prices, the cost would deflate. Ram is gonna start -35% here soon due to the dealers not having enough room to bring in 2025’s. I think Toyota, Ford and GM will eventually jump on the bandwagon. Nice update as usual untamed 👍👍👍
These dealerships don't care ,these manufacturer don't care ,
I bought in January of 2020, right before the world went stupid.
2:46 no. We dont. Its that sort of thinking that has got us in this position.
How can someone with a PhD keep creating videos on the same topic again and again and again? But I like his videos as he talks intelligently.
Cost of giving auto workers payraise is just part of cost production and its passed down to the consumers. Which is why they're reluctant to lower the prices on their vehicles.
Please do more videos on Ford and Chev.
I just bought a new offshore boat. $70k+ off MSRP.
Are you serious??
@@SBdunks3 Just looking for attention
It’s like this guy wants the car market to crash or something 😂
Would like to see a report on the RV market.
$39,000. for my F-150 in 2016. $62,000 for my F350 2020. Will keep what we have. Both new, paid cash.
bought 2 new 2024 GMC serria 1500 for 62k each, a white and a red one and pay cash too, my red one is in my garage in storage and have only 25 miles on it, will not drive it until my white one wears out,not going to license it or insurance it until i'm ready to drive it in 5 years or so, if i wait 5 years to buy the same truck, it probably cost over 100k, so i did it to save money
that used Tacoma has been in an accident.. the bumper is not square to the vehicle.
4getaboutit !!
Just on word says it all….GREED ! !
I have a 22 year old truck and my patience has worn thin with this.
there are people that work hard and do have money to buy what they want,i guess your not one of them LOL
In buying my leased 22 4Runner it’s valued at 40-42k my buy out is 32k w/ 20k miles
How much money have you spent towards this vehicle so far?
@ about 12k
At least they all have 4 wheels. Easy to roll off the lot when $hit hits the fan in 2025
Retired Millionaire here and I want a New car.
So......?
I just walk in for the free coffee. I can change my mind after i signed the papers. In Florida i have within 90 days to decide if i can afford it.
Overpriced plastic junk. Plus all the recalls that your heart desires.
Lower quality, higher prices… the way of the modern auto manufacturer. =\
*America* is doing the same. Monkey see, monkey do.
My in-laws were furious when I bought a brand new Tundra in late ‘19 to replace my ‘03 RAM. I love them to death, but I have to laugh because I was ahead of the curve for a change.
Haha Best decision ever 💯
I think you’re correct about the May to August time frame as best to buy in 2025. I’m curious about why you think dealers are hoping for a bailout of some sort? Do you mean dealers are hoping to benefit indirectly from some sort of bailout to OEMs? Or do you think dealers are expecting some sort of unprecedented direct bailout?
Take 40 Thousand off and we can talk
Four door soccer mom vehicles. I would rather buy a sienna and remove the back seats. Better than those short bed soccer mom vehicles
tbh the government has bigger issues then dealing with dealership buyouts. im 99% sure there will be no buy out for them.
I found a 2020 f150 XLT Crew cab short bed two wheel dr with the 302A trim. With 23956 miles. One owner. For 25,000.
Did I do okay ?
Hell yes brother, what state did you get that truck in? I’m in the market for a used 2017+ f150
ok for a 2 wd
I have a 21 Taco with a 4 banger. Love the truck but the lack of power is disappointing. Would love to upgrade but way too expensive.
Great video and very informative. The “stealerships” need to fail and get spanked for the predatory behavior. But let’s be honest, the fish stinks from the head down. The factory has a part in this and allowed the retail + markup to go unchecked.
Pavlov’s dog theory must be implemented!
4 bangers were the economical truck for every day use. No longer a utilitarian vehicle.
Ford works with a 3% profit margin today. That’s it. Start with that to understand what they can do without going out of business forever or begging for bailouts from federal tax revenue. The real problem are the costs the manufacturers have to absorb from their materials suppliers and from fuel transportation costs.
I paid $40k for a loaded Tacoma SR5 but that's still to much , I don't know what dealership you're at but those prices are outrageous!
But, are repo rates simply stabilizing to normal rates, or are they exploding beyond normal ranges? 🤔
You can order a GM 3500 HD Duramax with nice options for $65 grand. Which really is not to bad. You will have to wait 4 months to get it.
If people were “fed up” and didn’t want these vehicles, they wouldn’t be buying them. But they are.
Correct. Because not everyone sits at home complaining about the world. Some of us figure out how to deal with whatever is thrown at us, but you have to be strong enough to put the phone down for at-least 5 minutes per day.
I was about to trade my 21 Titan sv for a 21 ram, but rates and payments still aren’t great. Just going to keep it and hope it’ll last for a long time.
It's the middle of January 2025 and theres rows of 24 F150s at the local dealer. Zero 2025s on the lot.🙄
My new truck in 2000 was 28,000 dollars F250 Diesel. Today that same truck is over 90,000 dollars. Why ??? I wouldn't pay that. I will replace everything I have to instead of buying a new truck. 😢
Tacomas are now the UGLIEST trucks available.
Agree. But the Tundras are uglier.
Still agree, tho :)
An update titan with small improvements at a dimilar price would be welcomed by many
I see at Ford vehicles in transit still 2024 models! Crazy
I got a new 39500msrp blazer for 19800 it’s one model year older. Nearly fully loaded. They just wanted to move it.
