I've been racking my brain for ages, trying to come up with a way to make a lightweight bike trailer that folds out into something spacious. You nailed it. The only thing I'd want to improve is adding a curve to the box so it's more aerodynamic when cycling.
Aerodynamic might be slightly better and it might look a lot better. This was kind of a prototype. It was a lot of work to make the first curve. And make a curve that fits perfectly on the first one might not be super easy, depends on your skills, tools and passion and what material you use. It will reduce the inside space, but I would not worry too much. A smaller curve could be an option.
that's pretty cool. I'm thinking of building something similar but much larger. I've lived in my van for over 6 years now. I have recently become to blind to keep my driver's license. I don't want to give up traveling and I'm thinking of living on my bike full-time. I've designed a trailer that's 3'wide, 10'long and 6' high. it will be self propelled with electric motors and have 500 watts of solar on the roof. although it will have 6kwh of batteries and 20 gallons of water storage on the bottom, I'm afraid of what the wind might do to it while going down the road. I'm curious how much does the wind effect your trailer? what's the strongest wind you've delt with while riding? do large trucks blow you around? thanks in advance for any answers. good work on that trailer!
I think the traffic in general and trucks are not a problem. However, in strong wind I can easily imagine that it will tilt. This design does not have the wheel at maximum distance towards the edges, this makes it easier to tilt. I did test run the trailer down a crazy step trail (where very few would go with a bike alone), and manage to tilt the trailer. 6' tall and 1' wide and lightweight, it will not standup towards very strong winds. My other trailer (see link in description) has a bit more aerodynamic side walls, and is lower, and has a wider wheel base compared to the height, and should be a bit more stable. It still has a lot of ground clearance for off-road biking, this could be lower to get it more stable.
Good job. I’m building one this spring. But I will be using a gas powered bike to pull a bit larger camper than yours. Ive kept my eye on all the newer bike camper videos. The key is correct. It needs to be origami style. Like you have. Fold it out.
Very nice design to bad no plans to build more of them, thank you for sharing great video.

@@HaakonDybdahl maybe a curve isn't necessary, just a straight slant at the top.
Thanks for the ideas she is a beauty
i love designs , wood integrated, well done !
i love this widepathcamper-design
Интересное решение с составным кузовом) спасибо, что делитесь опытом!
Great vid!
Love this!
You northerners love your saunas!

cool! if possible, post more details, please
😎👍👊🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
How much does it weight in kg and what’s it made of? Is it all weatherproof like from wind and rain?
Welldone
Fantasi..... 🚴♀️👍
great !!! have you got plan ? how much kg ? how much km ?
Sorry, I did not make any plans. It is about 40 kg.

@@MrCbell57 Thanks. It is quick to set up and nice in case of taking a break for rain etc.
