Amo esta composición de Theodorakis, es increíble cómo capta la esencia del poema, y no sólo con este sino también con América insurrecta y Los libertadores. En definitiva, Neruda y Theodorakis son tal para cual.
Magnifica composición. Neruda, verdades como puños.
El vinilo que me prestó mi amigo Paco (q.e.d.) hace más de 20 años; no la había oido, hasta hoy. He llorado en recuerdo a él.
Pero Rainer Scheerer no es Petros Pandis… Canta en manera cómica
Vale la pena escuchar La United Fruit Co. con Petros Pandis. En mi opinion es mucho mejor.
I recommend the rendition with baryton Isy Borensztajn. Together with a passionate and beautiful baritone voice looks like he UNDERSTANDS what he sings...

Ja, da hast du recht. Aber nichts für ungut. Die Kanzlerin am Schluss bei standing ovations dabei. Und: Michael Sommer, der DGB-Chef, hatte sich ausdrücklich den Canto General gewünscht,- auch und vor allem wegen der Aussagekraft des Werkes. Danke für deine Stellungnahme

@2IceCantata suite: qui correspond à l'esprit de l'oeuvre et qui est interprétée par des chanteurs qui utilisent plus que leurs VOIX !!!!!!! le génie de Théodorakis est aussi d'avoir choisi ces deux-là ....personne ne peut chanter le "Canto" comme eux :-)))

Ich fand es auch grossartig und sehr symolisch, dass der Gewerkschaftschef Sommer sich diese Musik gewaehlt hat. Symbolsch u.a. weil ein Teil der in diesem Lied besungenen "Moscas" als Gaeste in den vorderten Reihen sass. Wunderbar. Und auch, ween Pedros Pandis einfach DER Interpret fuer den Canto General ist, ich empfinde diesen Bariton als sehr ueberzeugend. Ich waere gern als Gast dabei gewesen.
Well, these old concerts with Pandis, conducted by Mikis himself, are classic. It is not Pandis’ voice but his spirit and temperament (and the conductor of course) that make the difference… Nevertheless, this is a very nice interpretation!
@2IceCantata yes...in first version was petros pandis the solist..but mikis after the digital evolution instrumental of his music was helped by barytons solists...

@2IceCantata Bien sûr Petros Pandis et Maria Farantouri les créateurs et interprètes uniques de cette oeuvre majeure de Théodorakis. Non pas que je trouve les autres interprétations inintéressantes mais celle que j'écoute depuis 35 ans ne peux être que l'interprétation d'origine (1000 fois chantée partout dans le monde )

I miss the voice of Petros Pandis! He's the only one who can sing this master piece as it should be. Sorry, that I've to say this.
Prawda. Przyłączam się do opinii, że jednak Petros Pandis najlepiej przekazał treść tego utworu. Maria Farantouri także. To wokaliści stworzeni do tych pieśni. Przepraszam, nie mam nic przeciwko innej interpretacji, ale wolę jednak Marię i Petrosa.!!!
