From what I can tell, effects from continuous/field spells require them to be on the field to resolve, so if you'd MST'd mausoleum of the emperor when he tried to summon Barrel Dragon game 1, that would have stopped him from summoning and forced him to waste 1000 LP. Someone let me know if I'm wrong
The yugioh gods Did in fact see what Doto was trying to do. They also knew his Goofy ass wouldn't read the card and lose 2000 life points and lose the duel LOL
Not to mention in Yu-Gi-Oh R the sequel series to the manga, Bandit Keith got brought back to life somehow by Pegasus’s star pupil to find out what happened to him.
The reason why Keith need Mausoleum is because with Duelist Kingdom rules, dude didn’t NEED a single level 4 or below monster. Without Mausoleum dudes deck is strictly level 5 and above (in terms of monsters)
It's also funny because a very iconic (and memeable moment from the 4kids dub) Joey moment happened with the very same card, Graverobber. With it, Joey managed to get Yami Marik's live points to 0 in the 4-way duel.
I (very ironically) LOVE that Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon is objectively worse than regular Red-Eyes equipped with metalmorph. Like, I can’t image the thought process Konami had when they printed the card.

3:30 to be clear, when deion says mst would have negated his field spell, that’s not entirely accurate. the field spell would technically resolve without effect, since continuous spells/traps (including field spells) must be face up on the field at resolution for their effects to go through.
Oh you didn't understand, he understands that ruling ryhme told him that in one of his videos,any continues spell/field spell if it's destroyed upon or before resloving the effect doesn't work

The Metalmorph transformation that appeared in the Joey/Keith Duel was so cool and I was so sad that it sucked when transferred into the TCG. Makes me wish they’d retrain it or something into a proper archetype or play style. 🤔
