Brian Makse Hmmm. I guess I wasn't clear. You can be in Sports+ mode AND disable rev matching by turning off PSM (Porsche Stability Mgmt). No hack required. Cheers.
Brian Makse I watch all of your videos, but am partial to anything Porsche. I've owned a few and was the VP of Schattenbaum Region of PCA during the early 1980's. I'm now looking for a used Cayman S (2010) and always appreciate good Porsche reviews. Of course, it's hard to find a bad one! Thanks, once again.
***** A 987 Cayman S is such a great car. I tested a Boxster Spyder last summer and it reminded me how good that 987 platform still is. Thanks for watching, we really appreciate it!
This Video describes the car perfectly. It was so good I decided to go test drive it I bought one last week Best decision I've ever made. Awesome car. (This is my 3rd Boxster)
is there much difference between Cayman GTS and Boxter GTS? I was about to get Cayman GTS but I found that Boxter GTS's specs are not much different from Cayman GTS.
Kim BH They do, only in the cayman because of the roof you don't get the sound as loud and unfiltered as in the Boxter with the roof down, but from the outside, they sound the same.
+Nick Busato Even skilled drivers with a Porsche owner history doing reviews admit that they keep missing down shift points in the Boxster because the engine is so responsive... are you guys freaking experts or what? :)
I wont deny the engine is wonderfully responsive, especially in todays market dominated by turbos. That said, both me and Brian have silly good manual skills. I am not exaggerating this, but I likely heal toe over 1000 shifts a day between real cars and my sim rig.
+Christopher Cook lol :) I totally forgot that button is even there... I am blindly trusting Walter Röhrl that this button is not made for people like me :P
Tough choice. The Z06 is massively, massively faster and would probably end up putting me in jail. The Boxster is more precise, more sublime. Personally, I'd spend the money on racing.
Jake From State There's a lot more to it than that for sure and the Boxster does indeed have those very Germanic qualities. That Corvette, though, that's a beast you can dance with.
+xxijoseaixx We try and do that, and for most videos that happens. When we use less then ideal locations is more down to a time constraint with the car. I also wish we lived in LA rather than Toronto ;)
Brian Makse A rectangle. The border of the plate stops at the lettering and doesn't contain a billboard above and below... you know - like pretty much every number plate in the world it would seem - these excepted. In your thumbnail it hangs down over the lower grille and sticks up the front above the bonnet line like a cow lick hair cut. They really are atrocious plates. You guys need to say something to your local govt and get em fixed. For the aesthetic sake of these lovely cars!
GT Silver + Black and Red
A Beautiful noise from this Porsche! Great review as always!
Seems like the boxter is finally living up to its potential. It's such a great car!
It's been awesome since the introduction of the 987. It's only the wankers who look down on it.
Great review of a great car, thanks!
Regarding turning off rev matching in sports+ mode turn off PSM and presto -- no more rev matching. Cheers.
I know that, but I like everything else that Sport Plus does. That's my issue, I suppose, and I would find a hack. Thanks for warning!

Great review and comments regarding the everyday usability of the car.
Another wonderful review........keep up the great work.
Thanks! Glad you liked it! We had a pickup truck review ready, but I'm glad we hustled and got this Boxster piece out.

Thanks! Enjoy your new Boxster!
magoobro I'm patiently (sort of) awaiting the arrival of my SPYDER in January.
please make a review of 991 gt3
Thanks for watching! We did 991 GT3 a long time ago - ruclips.net/video/kI8_ChlZrPU/видео.html
Just what I want my next automobile to be.
Do it!
is there much difference between Cayman GTS and Boxter GTS? I was about to get Cayman GTS but I found that Boxter GTS's specs are not much different from Cayman GTS.
10 horsepower and a roof. Those are the practical difference.
Brian Makse Does Cayman GTS and Boxter GTS have same exhaust note?
Kim BH They do, only in the cayman because of the roof you don't get the sound as loud and unfiltered as in the Boxter with the roof down, but from the outside, they sound the same.
You do not have to figure out how to turn auto-rev-matching off, because it is off by default ;)
+Baerchenization It cant be turned off in sport plus sadly.
+Nick Busato Even skilled drivers with a Porsche owner history doing reviews admit that they keep missing down shift points in the Boxster because the engine is so responsive... are you guys freaking experts or what? :)

+Nick Busato it actually can you put it in sport plus then turn the traction control off and it turns off rev matching
+Christopher Cook lol :) I totally forgot that button is even there... I am blindly trusting Walter Röhrl that this button is not made for people like me :P
Change the markers to clear
Thanks Brian.
Thank you, Daniel! Cheers!
What's the price?
It's in the video. $96k IIRC.
+Andres Goddard "Between 90 grand and 100 grand, but closer to 100 grand."
If it were your money, would you take this car over the corvette z06? Which was more exciting?
Tough choice. The Z06 is massively, massively faster and would probably end up putting me in jail. The Boxster is more precise, more sublime. Personally, I'd spend the money on racing.
Jake From State There's a lot more to it than that for sure and the Boxster does indeed have those very Germanic qualities. That Corvette, though, that's a beast you can dance with.
Is it GT-Silver??
Yes
Should have taken the convertible somewhere besides the highway, maybe some place with better scenery.
That's what we usually do, but there was no time during that test.
+xxijoseaixx We try and do that, and for most videos that happens. When we use less then ideal locations is more down to a time constraint with the car. I also wish we lived in LA rather than Toronto ;)
Why the small rims? Shitty roads locally?
That video was from, what, two years ago? I think those were the winter wheels.
can you recline the chair if you want to take a nap?
Yes.
What's with those awful fat square number plates? Can't you get normal rectangular ones and/or small ones?
Um, those would be plates legally required where we're from.
Brian Makse Really? No one has complained or asked why you can't have normal plates with normal proportions?
What's normal?
Brian Makse A rectangle. The border of the plate stops at the lettering and doesn't contain a billboard above and below... you know - like pretty much every number plate in the world it would seem - these excepted.

Princess Peach Do you mean licence plates shaped like this: c2.staticflickr.com/2/1256/997983101_786c8c2587_b.jpg
thanks for your video. i just picked up my 2019 porsche boxster gts: ruclips.net/video/a2pUGWDik2w/видео.html LOVE IT!
I've got a 1975 AMC Pacer...stock. Wanna race?
Why?
@@BrianMakse I was Joking. AMC Pacer is a 🐢 with wheels.
lemme grab some money out my 401k broke boys
New german cars are ripoffs
Always buy used german cars
Do you have any other car buying advice?
Brian Makse I think his advice was to buy used cars instead of new.
+Frank Assnot and buy some worn out tracked pos.
