The system requirements posted on Steam seem extremely tame for what the game looks like.
If I understand it correctly, the "inconsistent quick saves" is probably that you can't quick save while in danger/combat? In another preview video that I watched someone mentioned that too.
@azurepurgatorian8306 Well that's a relief. From what I watched it made it sound like they straight up didn't work. A big thing i was worried about was save corruption.
It could also be that the game, in true Stalker fashion, does not keep RNG rolls consistent and every quickload will result in a new RNG call. Can't say that it's bad, though.
The multiplayer being cut might probably be a necessary choice... Firstly, because STALKER in the first place has always been a singleplayer experience, and only modders have made multiplayer mods of the original trilogy. On the other hand, the multiplayer might be experimental from the devs, which is why they had to release it separately from launch. While that might be true, I do question as well on why they have locked missions at launch, but hearing that the game already has a lot of branching story paths, I'd say we might as well enjoy those first without the additional missions. Does not matter the game is going to have bugs on release just like every other single game on release...it will get fixed im fully looking forward to this game and cannot wait to play it!
I preordered S2 and i will play the game on the day of the release, but i have no delusions, game of this magnitude will have quite serious issues no matter what. So yeah, i will wait patiently even half a year until GSC fix it.
@BrokenCircle1 it looks like also will be interesting how the open world will look and comparing the original level transition areas to stalker 2 area.
A fair concern to have, although bugs have never really bugged me (pun not intended). That is unless it is a crash or game breaking bug. The STALKER games have always had bugs, so I’m not expecting a bug free experience. But if there are game breaking bugs, or a lot of crashes. That would be pretty bad.
Honestly, ill be happy if Stalker 2 is less buggy than MechWarrior 5: clans at launch... I've had sound issues, both in game and during cutscenes where only part of the sound drops out. massive frame drops from 120 fps to like 10 fps well after the game had time to load and get past the shaders loading, weird flickering in menus, Jittery people in cutscenes.. you know the average list of issues for a UE5 game on launch.
Sounds like the game will be another wait until a good sale game. Cutting features on launch just means theyre never going to release it if the game performs poorly.
Look, STALKER isn’t about multiplayer. So even if it’s not in there… like, ever. Won’t take away from the experience. STALKER is first and foremost a single player game.
6:38 cutting features? Multiplayer was never the main focus of stalker It was just a fun extra mode I have never seen someone who bought stalker for the multiplayer Also this is a good thing since people will be playing the actual game then jumps to multiplayer later
Me neither but it was there day 1 for the previous stalkers so the fact it isnt this time is bad news. Like I said I dont really care about it but still
@@BrokenCircle1 it would be if it had fans. It's like 1% - 0% of the playerbase Besides the singleplayer is already ambitious enough for it. Most of the time people are just playing mods instead of the multiplayer lol
you forgot one thing tho, even if the game releases in a bad state. all its gonna do is make the game less popular, cuz lets be real. we all know that the modders of stalker 2 will fix it. so either we get a really good base game, or we get a bugfest, that will be fixed by modders eventually
What bugs have modders ever fixed for the OG trilogy? 😂 If anything they've overbloated the original STALKER games to the point you can't even simply download a mod & play it - you need to spend quite some time installing it using the guides or you may not even be able to launch the game overall, not to mention the possible trouble if you do get to launch it. Spare me these bollocks, plz
@@BrokenCircle1 they will release modding tools shortly after the game releases, to make it alot easier for the modders. gsc knows that stalker survived this long because of the mods
Ive been playing the original games for years. All broken. I have played multiple story mods, all broken. I’ve come to just expect that from stalker games and mods, i love them anyways. It gives me the same survival horror vibes as the original fallout game, pretty much nothing matches these 2 to me. Closest ive seen is the metro series but it feels more like a call of juarez shooting gallery. New fallout its just a joke, nothing else
ok ive seen both test plays in person during gamescon and all I will say is that there might be bugs but they will not be game breaking and very minimal
@@BrokenCircle1 it is. I literally pre ordered after gamescon this month. Last years gamescon showcase and play trial was already rather well shown but this years sold it to me.
Im not to concerned about the issues regarding the game. Especially considering since they still have 1 month. As long the game is not a broken mess (bug or performance), I can tolerate small bugs here and their knowing they can patches exist.
One of my worries about stalker 2 is that its looking alot like metro exodus, a very linear story based game where the coolest stuff you actually do are in cutscenes not a terrible game, but not like the og stalkers and a ton of time and money in cutscenes that could be put into making the best possible living world
Yeah I can see what you mean though the talk about alot of side quests sounds good, after all Metro didn't have that but I do worry that it may end up being too linear.
if this is half as good as metro exodus its goona be great.metro exodus would not be as good if it was open world.and also in stalker og u where contained in areas.dont know what u have against exodus that game was excepional
I think anyone who has been around from the start will tell you to accept it will be buggy and janky and take a long time to fix, or will need mods to fix it
@LaughingMan44 But it shouldn't be that buggy with the amount of times it's been delayed. Keep in mind the delays happened BEFORE the events of 2022. That's what makes me think something smells.
@@BrokenCircle1the first game was delayed many times, if you check the early builds it's clear they basically started again from scratch at some point. Same story for stalker 2. It's irrelevant whether or not it should or shouldn't be, it's how it is
I mean worst case scenario you wait a bit after launch for the patches because we all know this game will have bugs. It’s just a reality. It’s a single player game. Just don’t get it day one and wait a bit till you feel comfortable that they either knocked it out of the park or are aware of some serious issues and are fixing them. No one has to get the game day one…..it’s probably better if you don’t.
Quicksaves being "inconsistent" probably just means the A-life did different things each time, which is scary AF if you're used to playing other games but normal for stalker. Stalker AI will always do random shit, it's literally how a-life works and half the fun of the game. I've had fights go ENTIRELY differently with same quicksave on the regular in stalker, this is 100% normal. If this is an a-life issue which I assume it is, it is slightly gsc's fault for not having an in depth look into how a-life works before launch. Quest givers not being immortal is also normal, this is the zone. Being stuck up on roof is only bad if stalker style parkour is no longer allowed, which would be an actual complaint. I'm willing to bet 90% of the issues gamers will have with stalker is just plebians not knowing how stalker style open world works, similar to the dude who cried about artifacts being impossible to get despite the detector working correctly and beeping when he got close (It is detecting artifacts, not anomaly)
i just wanna say so you know this in the future, all bigger game devs (AA and AAA) always give games journos OLDER builds to test, they never give out the newest build as that is the one they are still working on, so the Demo that GSC gave this time might be a month old so these gamebreaking issues that you listed i can assure you, they know about or they have already fixed before you even made this video. Am i saying Stalker 2 will be bug free and perfect on launch? NO. But i think its a bit messed up to post a fear mongering video like this, like you said, all games release with bugs so what was even the point of making this video other then clickbait and fear mongering? I have friends that work in game design and they talk about this quite a bit. A community will complain about a bug but they dont realize that the bug they are complaining about was patched out weeks ago.
I know this but its weird they chose that version, you'd think you'd wanna put your best foot forward so to say and if thats their best foot this close to release that has me concerned.

True stalker fans are not delusional. We have already played the older games for so long and cherish them with all their features and anomalies, this is just another stalker game for us.
"It's normal to have bugs in Stalker game" lol for the old trilogy predecessor those bugs like stuttering and such is forgiveable since they were old games with shitty engine. If the same "bugs" appears in the new one, then it is a problem. No sane people would spend $43 for a game full of bugs.
Yeah wasn't that originally planned? Part of me understands that but also don't alot of Ukrainians (especially in the Eastern part of the country) speak Russian?
@@Tjerot_Primus lol true and fair. Hopefully you're right. I do suppose it will have a positive impact on the game that they aren't spending half their budget on DEI.
I think for me, the game will fail duo to bad performance (thanks to UE5). I barely played the silent hill remake because of the ultra bad performance (and all the other games like remnant 2, lords of the fallen, song of enotria etc etc) - even with FSR on. And the fun fact is, all the UE5 games doesnt even look that great compared to non UE5 games - that have much better performance. Epic Games must have paid so many people to push UE5, even CDRed dropped their insane redengine for UE5 XD.. But thats just my opinion, the hardware recommendations look good on the steam page, but thats really it, Im 100% sure you will need much better hardware + FSR on for nice framerates.
For who starting Stalker series , i recomend Radiophobia 3 for stalker first game. well its 10gb mod. : ) im playing , tons of side new quests tho. Then i try Clear Sky ...mayby.
It is of the classic games built on a faulty engine on a much smaller budget with a less experienced studio. Buy it fine fair enough but don't try and tell me jank is just a part of it thats pure cope.
lol have u never played the original stalkers? i softlocked my playthroughs so many times with the build release bugs which were identical to the ones youre listing XD still played through and loved them all in the end.
Anyone who has experience with the old stalker games and thinks that Stalker 2 will be running smooth on launch, is both naiv and delusional. I expect at least a day one patch and the following weeks being paved with patches and hotfixes to fix bugs such as CTD's and performance issues.
@@RottenSkull But that shouldn't be the standard. Games should launch in a functional state. Anyone who is ok with anything less has no backbone. I don't care what franchise it is.
@@BrokenCircle1 Thats true, there was a time when games came out and werent broken on release. But GSC has a history regarding broken releases, bugs and unpolished games. I don't know man, seems to me that you're just stating the obvious here. Nobody said that the game is gonna be 100% bug free on launch, or ever, for that matter. The previews being astonishingly good don't mean that this game is the second coming of sliced bread, just that it's looking good and we're probably looking at a very playable and enjoyable game from the get go. Look at the development cycle and history of other big open world games like Cyberpunk, Skyrim or Fallout. Bugs, glitches, broken quests and misc. issues are inherent to this type of ambitious games. Given the scope, it's bound to happen. Now, you're right to stay focused and give a reminder to not blindly jump on the hype bandwagon, and run the risk of massive disappointment. I get that. But come on, now. This is really looking good. Compared to the trainwreck that other games can be at launch, we're nitpicking at this point. GSC has shown some good will by letting players, long-term fans and journalists review the gameplay from a very early stage, unlike some other studios like CDPR who were actually hiding the real state of the game all the way to release day. I'm not trying to say that it's gonna be perfect, far from it. But I'm really not "concerned" about Stalker 2. It will be alright.
Comparing Stalker 2 to other trainwrecks isn't a good standard to have at all. Perhaps it may be obvious to you but there's alot of people just blind to the hype. I just wanted to state my thoughts why so many have an issue with that is beyond me.
@@BrokenCircle1 No don't worry, I don't have an issue with that. We talked in the comments in the past on your video about why you hate Anomaly and I thought you were pretty much spot on. I'm merely doing the same as you, just stating my thoughts. Quite the contrary.
@syndicalistcat3138 Hm. Yeah it does seem like an unreasonably long delay. The delay due to the invasion is understandable but like you said it should have come out in 2022 so they really should have only needed a year at most to fix it. Not sure what's going on. gonna have to hope for the best.
@@BrokenCircle1 the game that was supposed to be released in 2022 was built on UE4 - the game that's about to be released in a month is built on UE5. The time GSC's got with all the relocation routine due to a full-scale invasion was used to port S2 from one version of the UE to another, and with a project of such a scale it's not an ordinary task, given GSC literally had to create their own dev tools for the platform from ground zero for both UE iterations.

I am going to pre order, but my expectations are minimal, if it's like SOC but better graphics then I will be happy

@BrokenCircle1 it looks like also will be interesting how the open world will look and comparing the original level transition areas to stalker 2 area.
I stopped buying and playing games from day 1 but with Stalker 2 i can't wait!
@@somethingcliched4921 fair enough
Honestly, ill be happy if Stalker 2 is less buggy than MechWarrior 5: clans at launch... I've had sound issues, both in game and during cutscenes where only part of the sound drops out. massive frame drops from 120 fps to like 10 fps well after the game had time to load and get past the shaders loading, weird flickering in menus, Jittery people in cutscenes.. you know the average list of issues for a UE5 game on launch.

Sounds like the game will be another wait until a good sale game. Cutting features on launch just means theyre never going to release it if the game performs poorly.
Sadly this might be the case. I don't know my biggest fear is that it will just be mediocre. Not bad, but not all its hyped up to be.
Look, STALKER isn’t about multiplayer. So even if it’s not in there… like, ever. Won’t take away from the experience. STALKER is first and foremost a single player game.
@@somethingcliched4921 sure, doesnt change my point.

Multiplayer was never the main focus of stalker
It was just a fun extra mode
I have never seen someone who bought stalker for the multiplayer
Also this is a good thing since people will be playing the actual game then jumps to multiplayer later
Me neither but it was there day 1 for the previous stalkers so the fact it isnt this time is bad news. Like I said I dont really care about it but still
@@BrokenCircle1 it would be if it had fans.
It's like 1% - 0% of the playerbase
Besides the singleplayer is already ambitious enough for it. Most of the time people are just playing mods instead of the multiplayer lol
friendly fire and differential factions could be a mod for Stalker 2 if multiplayer is added.
@@minefromblackmonday different factions is already in the game lol, idk about friendly fire tho
you forgot one thing tho, even if the game releases in a bad state. all its gonna do is make the game less popular, cuz lets be real. we all know that the modders of stalker 2 will fix it. so either we get a really good base game, or we get a bugfest, that will be fixed by modders eventually
I've heard Unreal engine is alot harder to mod though.
@@F1stzz because the engine of the games are 24 years old ? its incredible what kind of mods they made out of this game, with this engine...

The fact you can get a cd key for $30 right now for steam is a steal either way. I doubt those keys will stay that price at launch.

S2 will totally be a SoC at launch I'm sure, but I'm ok with that.

Thanks for the compliment! I hope you enjoy my future videos!
@theazurian2778 Well that is good then.
@@BrokenCircle1 it is. I literally pre ordered after gamescon this month. Last years gamescon showcase and play trial was already rather well shown but this years sold it to me.
Informative vid, thanks g
No problem 👍
Im not to concerned about the issues regarding the game. Especially considering since they still have 1 month. As long the game is not a broken mess (bug or performance), I can tolerate small bugs here and their knowing they can patches exist.
One of my worries about stalker 2 is that its looking alot like metro exodus, a very linear story based game where the coolest stuff you actually do are in cutscenes
not a terrible game, but not like the og stalkers
and a ton of time and money in cutscenes that could be put into making the best possible living world
Yeah I can see what you mean though the talk about alot of side quests sounds good, after all Metro didn't have that but I do worry that it may end up being too linear.
Well, NO. U IS WELL WRONG.
if this is half as good as metro exodus its goona be great.metro exodus would not be as good if it was open world.and also in stalker og u where contained in areas.dont know what u have against exodus that game was excepional

@@BrokenCircle1 its how all games do it bro, clearly you dont know how games design works if your argument is this simple.
As long as a-life hasnt been nerfed ill accept a ton of bugs..no i'll embrace them...

I fear that it will have a similar launch like Cyberpunk 2077 and MAYBE after a year the game will be kinda ok. Obviously I hope to be wrong.
Same here. One of my biggest fears is that the game will launch badly and even when it is fixed it will just be a meh 6/10 game.

If I think what you say is not super relevant or is a bit exaggerated, I do it out of care for the subject and because I'm passionate about Stalker, not out of hate for your videos. Quite the contrary.
Fair enough.
First of all this game should have been released in 2022, that was the original plan. Copes and excuses...
@@BrokenCircle1 Just the usual GSC bullshit, overcommitment and the rest...
They already did this with the first Stalker.
You have diabetes.
