I drove both of them and must say 1.2 GT is the best of both. It is lighting fast interns of shifts and we all know 4 cylinder engines produce sweet sound.
Not more powerful like the numbers clearly show but it’s a lot more fun as it has 4 cylinders as opposed to the 3 in the 1 litre TSI polo. Not to mention, the 4 cylinder TSI is overall better engineered to handle any after market performance tuning that many love to do with their polos. It’s the 4 cylinder 1.2 litre polo for me any day and I have one too. 😊
@@DannyDeVito-p5yquite the opposite, the 1.2 SOHC engine isnt mod friendly at all. The 1.0tsi is literally from a vw gti car, that engine is made for performance from the ground up and the mod list is endless, u can produce so much power out of that engine.
Mark 6 or whatever is selling internationally is sadly 4 metre+ in length because VW actually addressed legroom problem. But that means more taxation for 4m+ car.

I drove both 1.0 and 1.2 and must say no car in the segment comes close to 1.2 GT. It even smokes the higher segment cars like seltos and creta petrol variants
1.2 GT tsi definitely smoother & refined & economical. 1.0 GT tsi is slightly more powerful in mid range but is a little rough on high speeds, economy is less may be due to torque converter but more fun to drive. I owned 2013 1.2 and then switched to 1.0 since 2 years. Only downside is less economy😊

@@HDF109 u could be happier by having the 1.2 dsg for smoothness and economy but the only concern is to check for the condition of dsg dq200 gearbox. Some times DQ 200 can be troublesome and is costly too. Other than that 1.2 is the best option

Still 3 cylinders in a car doesn't make any sense at least consider buying a four cylinder engine that is refined and threws good amount of power in it 1.2 gt tsi is more than enough for a small and hot hatch like polo's. After all it costs 8-11lakh its not worth buying a three cylinder for that price range go for a second hand octavia 1.8 tsi by adding little more fund

DSG gearbox has that lag in first few gears to protect the engine. And yes a dual overhead cam engine is more fast.
