Jacques-Louis Battmann - Marche funèbre in A minor, Op. 332, No. 17

  • This piece was composed by Jacques-Louis Battmann (25 August 1818 - 7 July 1886) and is part of his Op. 332 "Bibliotheque religeuse complete". Battmann was born in Masevaux, France and served as organist in Belfort, Vesoul, and Dijon, where he also died. He published a total of 456 works, mainly in the field of organ and piano music, as well as sacred and secular choral works.
    Played on the sample set for the Mascioni organ in the church of San Giovanni Evangelista, which is located in Alessandria, Italy. The organ was built in 2010. It is a 45 stop three-manual organ consisting of 5 divisions: grande organo, positivo, recitativo espressivo, pedale and tuba.
