- The Boostin Performance team came out swinging this year at FL2K19 with their 1800HP AWD 4 cylinder DSM!(Manley Performance Billet crank) Running consistent bottom 7 second passes shifting down the dragstrip! The Red Demon still holds the record for quickest h-pattern trans clocking a 7.0@213. The competition in the extreme stick shift class was intense, featuring some of the fastest stick shift cars in the world! Congrats to the Boostin Performance team and a big thank you to FL2K for putting on such an amazing event for the fans.

A choppy big block V8 or a roaring small block, a flat plane low displacement V8 screaming its head off with high pitched whines and deeper growling tones, twin turbo V6 motors that are smooth enough drive everywhere but churn out 1k hp, straight 6 engines that make ears bleed, boxer engines that have that off beat exhaust pulse that sounds like 2 engines at once an 4cyl engines on so much boost that you basically hear all turbo until it's about to redline and you hear the monster wailing.
We are real car guys and car guys love good cars with bad engines and bad cars with good engines. That's in our blood.

@@jonathanswinford88, well, he cranked the boost up because he figured go big or go home. A longer burnout is only going to do so much. As of right now, I think a clutch would be the best thing for that car. A lot of the consistent stick cars are using slip style clutches. Cleetus is not, and I think that's part of the reason why they have so much trouble getting off the line efficiently and most importantly, consistently. He even mentions it in one of his FL2K videos.

High 8's in a stick shift drag car means over or around 1000hp depending on weight. And if it is a street car it is even more impressive. Not everything is a pro mod or an auto that can launch without blowing tires off

I love when people start coming up with excuses about being a billet block. Just to let people know he ran 7.37 with an oem block. People think v8 guys are running oem blocks? they are running non oem blocks and non oem heads by the way. A 6 bolt lsx block and 6 bolt heads are not oem. Those are aftermarket castings. Why you think cleetus kept blowing head gaskets on the old motor. It was a 4 bolt oem block.

I always loved this body style of these. My son bought his first car this year and it is a 97 eclipse. It's still in pretty good shape. I get to relive my teen years through his car. :)

Nickel white S550 lmao Leroy is the only car with a Texas Speed motor. Minion runs the 281 4.6, and Grub Worm runs a gen 1 LT1 (IMO the biggest surprise of the event going from passes right in the 7.95 - 8.1 range to a 7.54 @ 190 on an LT1). Red Demon is the product of a decade of racing, R&D, endless broken parts, consistent improvements, great driving, and reminded everyone who the stickshift GOAT is. I’m fully puckered when that thing is on the 2 step waiting to launch.
Christopher Kelly bruh toast has a blueprint 633 big block, not a texas speed motor at all. Leroy has an iron block texas speed 427, and ruby is getting a texas speed 427 soon as well. Don't believe me? Watch some videos

It’s almost a pro mod 4 cylinder. Big tire/chassis/billet block ect what you expect. I truly believe some of those guys need to go to 4 speeds over the 6 also to shave some time.

This car is awd. This car is very impressive and I’m not try to take away from the accomplishments he’s made. But Leroy is rear wheel drive only. To me their should be a separate stick shift class for awd cars. You got nearly double the traction pretty much. But it is what it is. 🤷♂️
If Leroy had a body then his aerodynamics wound definitely improve. I think that's the only thing holding back his potential. I agree though awd is nasty off the line. Launch control is what rear wheel drives need to win against that. Not to mention Red had about 700 more hp than Leroy lol
